My favorite moment in the official video is, after Tim hits that NOTE, seeing a smiling Avi take off his signature beanie and replacing it with the cowboy hat. Knowing all the personal strife he went thru that eventually led to his departure from Pentatonix, it does my old heart good just to see this really decent guy enjoying himself and having fun. I don't know if you have reacted to any of Avi's solo albums, but his new music is literally breathtaking.
I'm not sure that Sara could take it, but you should react to Home Free's cover, of the O'Jays, Love Train. Austin does a great job singing lead, and you get to see some awesome dance moves.
Try their "Snow Globe", "Man of Constant Sorrow", "Butts Medley", "Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks", and "Blue Ain't Your Color".
"Mayday" also, for a bit of a surprise!
There’s plenty of home free songs that are amazing and you will both love, helplessly hoping is one of my favs for their harmonies but there’s plenty of songs to go through keep up the good work you girls are so fun to watch !!
Mayday, please!! Tim decides to sing tenor :)
Not for a few songs yet
Wait on this song until you know all of their names
@@joannajohnson8210 fair point :) I'm just excited to see their faces when they watch it!! lol
Thinking out loud/and let’s get it on by home free please 😁
Avi's voice is sooooooo velvety, rich, sweet chocolate. A voice you NEVER get tired of. Pure ear extasy.
Thanks so much for making my morning more bearable with your joyful reaction videos!
For more double bass, even though I'm a Home Frie, would you please react to "Misty Mountain" featuring Tim Foust! It's really increadable! 👌
Home Free - End of the road
My personal favorite of them!
I think you need to let her hear/see "Misty Mountains" w/Tim and Peter Hollens and Austin Brown doing "Unchained Melody".
Oh now y'all need to react to Home Free "When you walk in" it's an original of theirs..
Y'all should check out some of Avi's solo stuff or what he did with Avriel and the Sequoias. "Change on the Rise" and "Hey Ya!" are both good but really all of them are haha
YES!!!!
I love "Change On The Rise".
OMG about time 😍 I so wanted you guys to react to this 👍😅
Peter Hollens and Tim Foust Misty Mountain
I just need to let that moment happen. Laughed my ass off.
Great reaction to ring of fire. I was laughing along with you. I am so glad to have seen them live. Keep up the nice reactions and stay safe.
This was awesome. Much love. ❤️❤️❤️
That Last Low note is TIM FOUST !!! He’s got a 5+ octave range...pretty AWESOME !!! Do the other Johnny Cash song...FOLSOM PRISON BLUES...Tim Really goes LOW !!!!!
The comment about checking out some of Austin’s solo stuff is completely correct! Specifically his song “Earn It” although idk if Sara could handle it!
One of their originals (written by Tim) is "Champaign taste on a Beer Budget," and is a lot of fun, with a surprise! Just in case you missed it, that last note was Tim, not Avi.
lmfao omg i'm dying over @sarah, your reactions to her and her reactions to them just made my day.
I can’t wait for y’all to react to Austin’s cover of “unchained melody”, absolutely beautiful 🥰
"READY????" And then that knowing smile... :) Well played, Kaz....well played. I've been waiting for you two cuties to react to this one, and you didn't let me down! And Sarah, please get well soon. Maybe listening to that last note from Tim a few more times will heal you. ;)
react to misty mountains by tim and peter hollens
Awesome reaction!! I laughed right along with you! You gained a new sub. :)
Love your reactions... if you'd like to hear more from Austin, check out his channel for some covers and original from just him... but please keep checking out more HF! Thanks!
Great reaction. Really enjoyed it.
Sara's multiple eargasms are well worth the price of admission. Glorious!
Blue ain't your color by Homefree is both super cool and humorous when they describe their video at the end. Thanks ladies another fun reaction!! this time i'll sub.
Thanks so much!!!
I just love Avi's look and the end of the video when he gets that smile look like ok Tim you got ne on that one
I agree we want you to keep reacting to Home Free. But as another Austin fan....you have to react to Unchained Melody and Earn It on his CZcams channel. Takes his shirt off on Earn It. 😉
Although I like Austin's voice and he did a good version of Bobby's song, it doesn't compare.
@@derekgarcia1428 who said we should compare them? 🧐
@@derekgarcia1428Because I'm like this, it's not Bobby's song. It was for a film called Unchained released in 1955. Bobby sang a cover of Unchained Melody ten years later. Austin performed a cover of a cover.
@@iuile you are incorrect Bobby Hatfield recorded this in the 60's it was later used in the movie. This song was written for another movie, but for me Bobby Hatfield has the better version. Bobby was the other part of the Rightous Brothers.
@@derekgarcia1428 Except I'm not incorrect. What a google search found to save you some time: '"Unchained Melody" is a 1955 song with music by Alex North and lyrics by Hy Zaret. North wrote the music as a theme for the little-known prison film Unchained (1955), hence the song title. Todd Duncan sang the vocals for the film soundtrack." Bobby recorded a cover of Unchained Melody in 1965, which I made note of when I typed, "Bobby sang a cover of Unchained Melody ten years later." 1955 + 10 years = 1965. Once more with feeling, Unchained Melody is not Bobby's song. His cover is simply the most well known. Similar to how 'I Will Always Love You' is better known to be sung by Whitney Houston but it's actually a Dolly Parton song. I did not expect I'd have to clarify anything I wrote in my original comment.
Great reaction!
Y'all never fail to make me smile ty : )
This comment means so much to me!! Thank you!!!
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
It was awesome!!!
That last note is a G1 sharp sustained. Amazing talent and voice control
Kaz, you were right. Sarah's reaction to Austin,,,,, PRICELESS LMMFAO!
Voiceplay the base gang and home free 😮😮😮how are their voices legal seriously wow when i heard Voiceplay for the first time was on ur channel kaz same with home free and the base gang i love your reactions 😅😂
I believe "THAT MOMENT" healed Sarah's neck!!!
Last notes never gets old. :)
As always you two are absolutely adorable I sure hope you're feeling better darlin, take care of that back. Perhaps she would love to see Man of Constant Sorrow where Austin is a lead on that also.
Thank you so much for your kind words!!! Feeling so much better now!!! And definitely ready to hear some more!!!
Wait til the End Tim Foust oh my Damn ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You all freaking hilarious
YAY Home free now!
You should check out Tim’s diet with Peter Hollins, “ Misty Mountains”, fair warning, last note, Tim Drops a couple octaves
Hello, GREAT JOB!!! You 2 make it fun to watch a reaction. It is refreshing to see people that is not afraid to react with emotion and expression on their face. I suggest you react to Home Free cover of "Folsom Prison Blues". You will not regret it.
You both should also check out Home Free's cover version of Crosby, Stills, and Nash Hopelessly Hoping, that song will blow you both away!
have you two listened too Home Free man of constant sorrow yet? its amazing
If she likes Austin, check out "Great Day to be Alive" and "All About that Bass." Then let her watch Austin's solo "Unchained Melody."
You mean my "boyfriend" sings unchained melody... that might be a game changer!! 🥰🥰 definitely have to check it out!!!
I watched sing off season 2 (Chance with Street corner symphony), season 3 (Avi with pentatonix), season 4 (Home Free). My favorite moment on the sing off was hearing percussionist (Freak of Nature) Adam Rupp reggae style beat during this song! 🤯🤯😱😱😁😁. Incredible!
I think that, at 5:00, that "eargasm" that Sarah had had earlier spread out to more...Southern regions.
The first time I heard the song the way I like it was in the movie "O, Brother Where Are Thou?" They do it in a way hearkens to that version.
Note: 99% of 'their' songs are done a cappella (without instruments only voice). This is done without 'anything'.
First times I heard Pantonix AND Home Fries were in that talent competition show 'The Sing-Off'. They won in separate years. It's also when I learned about Voice Play (they competed against & won over). They met Voice Play (& their fabulous bass singer Geoff Castellucci) and, Pantonix especially Avi Kaplan during the show. They developed some lasting work relationships. Another a cappella group they competed against & won over is featured on 'The Late Late Show with James Corden' The Filharmonic. Adam Chance coincidentally competed against Home Free in another a cappella group (assume that's where they met). It's a terrible shame that show was cancelled. It brought some talented
& truly gifted artists to mainstream.
Adam & Chris Rupp (brothers) founded the group. Since their inception, there's been some changes in the line up as members jumped in/out. Consistent members competed (Austin Brown, Rob Lunquist, Adam Rupp, Chris Rupp & Tim Foust) & won. Chris left a few years after they won the competition & was replaced by Adam Chance. Adam Chance has a deeper range which helps support Tim. Adam Chance has also been solo on a few songs since joined. (A fan of Home Free is called Home Fries).
They're deceptive in that they have tight harmonies & range. They lean to country music, but can blend R&B, country, jazz & pop into their arrangements with beatbox rhythms to change it from typical a cappella percussion sounds. If listen closely to Folsom Prison Blues (can hear not a typical drum beat, but a 'railroad train and hitching a shotgun sound'.
Home Free bantered around 'years' before their big break winning that show (Fairs, Cruises, typical country music circuits etc.). They were one of the most mature, polished &
experienced groups in the competition. It showed as they progressed through the competition. They have what they term a 'Vault' of extensive recordings/videos of songs released years prior to the competition.
Pantonix is a fabulous group, however they have a totally different sound when comparing groups. One would think Home Free would be struggling because of their tours derailed because of the 'demic'. It seems to be bringing them a broader audience as they've been producing new videos every so many weeks (ex. 'Folsom Prisom Blues'). Which is the miracle of the internet, getting tracks laid by them from their individual homes & filming there to. Kinda can tell the videos is slicing in with each other no group scenes. The sound is incredible how it's mixed.
When I first became interested watching the competition show, I admit I lusted over Tim Foust. He had a sexiness with his wide range of voice. It made the group a triple threat. Austin Brown their flexible tenor, Adam Rupp their versatile beat boxer (won multiple competitions) & Tim the cute, shy smile bass. Every song in the competition I enjoyed. There was one song they did with The Filharmonic. Cabbyshack's 'I'm All Right' I will forever remember Rob Lunquist's comedic turn as the groundhog (have to see the video).
There was one episode the judge's got to work with specific groups. The judge Ben Folds was talking about their angst of doing a Johnny Cash song. They were worried country music purists would rake them over the coals. He convinced them to do it their way & see it as homage. They did & quite honestly I thought it was their signature song. It was
the best up to that date song. It was 'Ring Of Fire'. It gave Tim Foust a stand-out performance. It showed his range & the arrangement had country/reggae mix.
I started following them on CZcams. Like anyone there are songs I love, songs not so into but it sticks in my mind.
Favorites (keeps updating):
Ring of Fire, Man of Sorrow, Folsom Prison Blues, Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Sunday Best, End of The Road, Elvira, Nine To Five, Can't Find What I' m Looking for & Mayday that's just 'a' few).
It's true, what many warn in that need to first listen to a few songs to understand what roles (tenor/baritone/bass) are in the group, then do Mayday. I had to close my eyes the second time through to get it.
This video that's wrongly interpreted by a few is the 'Ring of Fire' with Avi Kaplan formerly of Pantonix. I call it the dueling basses. It was nice for Tim to have the deep support while singing (unfortunately Chris Rupp didn't have that depth). In the competition, it caused a slight gap in bass support Tim. Avi really does go to town in that low range backing Tim. Enjoyed tremendously, but the ending many wrongly think it's Avi that hits the low note, it's not. The video clearly shows Tim dropping to the low note, while Avi putting on a cowboy hat & not changing his mouth. One does still see Tim in the background keeping the dropped mouth holding the note.
What I like is that they readily do collaborations as individuals or as a group with others. They've written songs & done arrangements for the group. I like the video of Elvira with The Oak Street Boys paying homage to the original singers. Austin did a solo with guitar accompaniment of 'Unchained Melody', or they get a music arrangement from Hollens & Geoff Castellucci. Foust does Misty Mountains with Peter Hollens or the group sings with Hollens 'Can't Find What I'm Looking for'. If Bass lover, haven't had chance listen to Castellucci's Black Bird or, High and Dry.
We love Home Free stuff :) :) Great reaction.. lol If Sara has a crush on Austin, you need to go to Austin Brown page on u tube. He has some solo's on there ans he just did " Unchained Melody " and it's going viral.... Thanks girls Jeannie

@Kanzandra Brock, that was Tim Foust sustaining a G1 at the end. Can you react to Pentatonix? Avi Kaplan, as you saw in Ring of Fire with Home Free, used to sing bass for Pentatonix, and then Matt Sallee replaced him. Here’s the link below of them singing in Japanese with Little Glee Monster. Don’t forget to enable the English captions:
