- Born in a weaver’s family, Mallesham is a traditional weaver of Pochampalli silk sarees in Sharjipet. With a strong desire to relieve his mother’s pain, he went to design a machine to mechanise the Asu process. While working at a workshop in Hyderabad, he noticed a machine’s movement and quickly returned home to give the final touch to his Asu machine that brought a revolution for the weavers in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana. He named it after his mother, the Laxmi Asu Handloom Machine

As I am research scientist at MIT in US, I meet several other scientist across the globe. At a lunch seminar last month. one scientist gave an advice to graduate students at MIT. The advice is as follow--if a person can break a complex problem into several steps, he/she is able to do any job in any sector. At 4:15, Mallesham described exactly same technique that he implemented in his work. I felt it inspiring! Regardless whether somebody did Ph.D. or B. Tech or no education, passion and curosity is the driving force.

Mallesham, also known as Mr. Chinthakindi Mallesham is one of the inspiring personalities, from an aspiring middle class family without proper educational and financial background. After watching the movie, the only best quality I learnt from him - " PATIENCE PAYS OFF ". A simple person from a non-engineering background with a big dream had created wonders and made society believe that - any person with hard work and patience can achieve his goal irrespective of family status. Some of the important qualities I learnt from his life includes :
1. When his parents interrupted his studies at a very young age, but his " passion towards learning " continued.
2. When his mother can no longer continue working with the weaving machine, his responsibility of taking care of her mother shows his -- Helping nature.
3. Understanding the problem and thinking of a solution with proper planning shows his " creativity and innovation. "
4. The goal of inventing the Laxmi Asu Machine when society started criticizing him, overcoming the challenges he faced just by believing in his perseverance shows us his " passion driven determination and focus towards his goal. "
5. When no one believed in him but he believed in himself, shows us his " self-confidence " and patience towards success.
6. A self-taught engineer, self-taught programmer had written hundreds of Assembly language programs just to increase the functionality and flexibility of design by the machine understanding the gap in the market shows us his extreme level of updating his and his ideas with the current gap in the market.
7. Finally, a simple down to earth personality who made social and financial revolutionary change in the society and evolved from his failures and experiences is a great inspiration for the current youth.
