- In this video we will see how to remove and replace the front brake pads of our Fiat 500L.
To perform the job correctly, you will need different types of tools:
Large-cut screwdriver, 13-inch fork wrench, ratchet wrench or 17-inch wrench supplied with the 500L, torque wrench adjustable to at least 116 N-m, torque wrench adjustable to at least 36 N-m, 13 and 17 socket, wire brush, brake caliper piston retraction kit, wire or "S" hook, degreaser or cleaner, car jack, safety stand, mat to lean on, spare pads, gloves and rags.

Sei forse l'unico che posta cose sulla 500L! Mi hai gia fatto salvare un sacco di tempo un sacco di volte, veramente grazie !
edit: Ho finito ora di vedere il video, se posso dare un suggerimento, per far arretrare il pistone della ganascia, dato che "a casa" e' raro avere l'utensile adeguato ed e' quasi inutile comprarlo(o comunque non tutti vogliono spendere anche quei pochi soldi in piu).
Per far arretrare il pistone, basta:
- Riposizionare la ganascia senza ferodi all'interno,
- Usare un caccavite a taglio avendo premura di usare un panno o altro per non rigare il disco
- Inserire il cacciavite nello spazio fra pistone e disco che precedentemente era occupato dal ferodo e fare leva sul pistone, premendo sul disco.
Questo possibilmente, facendo leva sia con la punta del cacciavite sia con il dorso, alternando i punti di leva. cosi facendo il pistone viene spinto indietro in maniera uniforme.

Io preferisco il kit apposito, anche perchè il kit è utilizzabile su quasi tutti i modelli di veicoli ed in più include anche gli adattatori per arretrare i pistoni dei freni posteriori (i quali con il solo cacciavite non è possibile riportarli in posizione d'origine). Poi, di per se, ha un costo basso, su amazon lo trovi dai 25€ in su, ma si può trovare anche a meno di 15€ su Aliexpress. Comunque liberi di fare come miglio si crede.🤪 Grazie ancora del supporto!

@@zerotanjiro5256 bha, tendenzialmente faccio i video, man mano che mi succedono i problemi, o devo cambiare qualcosa. Miglioramenti? Non saprei 🤣, ho cambiato stereo e casse, perché le originali facevano pietà, per il resto tendo a lasciare tutto originale.

Greetings from Poland - I have a Cross 500l and it may be stupid, but I don't know how to replace the turn signal bulb in the front fenders, and I don't want to break something - I can't see a way from the rear, pressing it from the outside doesn't help either
Hi, thanks for the support. I didn't understand if you mean the orange direction indicators (the arrows) or the fog lights at the bottom of the mudguard, which indicate the direction of steering of the steering wheel below 30km/h. The first ones (the orange arrows) are located on the main headlight unit, you must open the covers behind the low beam headlight. While, for the fog lights, you have to rotate the wheel completely inwards, then with a Phillips screwdriver you have to unscrew the 2 screws of the lower crankcase (you can see it in the video at minute 7:44) after removing the plastic cover, insert your hand and you reach the fog light.

@@WielkaLiss I understand, in my experience, those bulbs are difficult to change without removing the lamp holder. However, to remove the side indicator light, with a flat screwdriver, you need to press a plastic tab on the back of the lamp holder in order to release and remove the transparent gem. But talking to the body shop, in 80% of cases they break and need to be replaced completely! If you search the internet for the replacement gem (lamp holder), you can see how it is made and where the tabs to press are.
