Quick Update: Remove the 4 yellow retention tabs from OEM screen with 2 flathead screwdrivers and install on the Android screen. There should be no movement after that. I already tested this fix to the issue. Thanks everyone.
White clip with the sharp zipt tie at czcams.com/video/qS-4mAN9FEU/video.html comes off, just push straight back off the plastic. Be sure not to twist or the tab will shear.
There's a shift lock release next to the shift knob so you don't have to start the car. It's a little paddle. It's there in case of towing the pop that little plastic piece out and push down and the shifter is released. czcams.com/video/qS-4mAN9FEU/video.html

czcams.com/video/qS-4mAN9FEU/video.html this big plug is the speaker/amp plug. On mine the ears were too big to fit into the factory plug. I had to trim it a little for it to fit. I'm going to see if I can get a replacement sent out just in case...it feels a little off still.

@@allboutthemojo i know a shop charged someone like 200. Just take your time, follow my video, save your money, buy some mcdonalds french fries and a large sweet tea after. I thought I couldn’t do it either and I had no video to follow like this. I was in a rush to make this video the same day I got the screen to help the group buy purchase. You can do it.

271456 is the screen reset code to access the function to change the display vehicle and other features.
Purchased my screen. Now time to install.
Let me know if you have any questions, just make sure to remove the yellow tabs behind the oem screen to transfer to new screen, that will stop the screen from “moving”. Mine doesnt move anymore after i moved the tabs. The book doesnt come with instructions so I didnt realize it had to be swapped over.
I got another model, and it came with no instructions... thankfully I found help right here !

Hell i learned alot from this video. Installation seems alot easier to do. Makes me want to upgrade the screen now. Can you test out the apple car play? Everyone keeps complaining about it but im not really sure what it does or if you need internet all the time to run it.

Takes me back to my audio install days. A lot of cues from a 1996 ES300 (in true Toyota fashion).
How much real estate is behind the headunit? I have had to jam cables in the past, but looks like it may be pretty roomy back there (even with the huge connectors).

So behind the screen, the amount of space is about 11in wide x 3in deep x 4in height of space. Plenty to tuck it all back there with no pressure on any wires. There are lots of crevices which is great. Thanks for the kind words.

The internal hardware really. I hear great things about lexion but never seen videos other than comparison videos. The one I have from alibaba has been great so far and of course tons of videos about it.

Having issues connecting to my IS. Plugs are completely different.

I plugged mine in! Everything works fine! I just can’t get audio out of it! I have bluettoh and it works but im talking about the actual andriod unit itself, like the videos that come downloaded no audio comes out, I still get audio off CarPlay, and the Lexus entertainment. But not from the actual android device! What went wrong?

Hey brother the bottom bracket off of the OEM screen that comes off and then you can put it onto your new one so you can put screws in the bottom so it'll hold the new one up into your dash
The bracket is not transferable. The android computer is behind the screen which makes the bracket useless.

Hi Donald. I did try the track pad but so far, using touchscreen will be 100x faster. Using the trackpad it is not so free moving like a regular mouse.

Hi, yes you can use the OEM factory mic. Everything OEM will still work since all OEM functions are stored in the factory CD Player unit. So no loss of function at all. However if you were to lets say use the Android Auto screen for bluetooth phone calls, the provided speaker and mic will be needed. But, if you choose to not use those 2 items, I was informed the factory stuff would work since the factory bluetooth will be used and not through Android Auto.
Hey, my head unit is stuck on the lexus start up logo. I have tried many times to hard reset using the button with no luck. Do you have any advice. Thanks
I dont have any suggestions for this since Ive never dealt with it. I would suggest unplugging everything behind the screen and replug since it is easy access.

Couple of concerns: (1) this is an android product.. i use an iPhone, will that still be okay to connect with? (2) is CarPlay available with this system? (3) what did you end up doing with the restart button and the USB that was dangling?

Hey man, sorry to comment on a 3yo video but I just got a 2019 RC350 and I'm looking to do this to get wireless android auto. Did you notice any rattle noises after installing this? Either while just cruising or when turning up the volume? Also, did you notice any difference in sound quality after installing this head unit?

Phenomenal! It has been nothing but great. Added some apps on it and used as a diagnostic scanner for my own car

Berry, where did you get your stereo control knobs (2X) from? I don’t like my OEM ones that come with the RC F.
It will make the interior much nice and its a better feel. Go to ebay and type in Lexus RC control knob aluminum alloy. I cant provide a link oddly

You do but you have to move calmly or it will rush to the next icon.

Sure thing. So the reset button is it rebooting the system completely. So for example, if the screen freezes or something says is loading but you know its not. You click it and it reboots/restarts the android. The usb port labeled usb2 is the only connection for carplay. Usb1 will not link you to carplay.

Also, the audio still comes through the car speakers right?
Its been really worth it. When I answer calls, i press the steering wheel answer button so it uses the oem mic/speakers. Once i start car, I plug in my phone while qlink app is active and it auto starts my carplay and been using waze a lot. CZcams music on phone still works while waze is up. Waze app you can use the talk to text feature and my address will come up and i select it and boom, its good. Really loving that i can go back to factory screen also.
Crossing my fingers I can still get the 200t model for under 30 during tax time🙏🏽😂 the radio was my onlyyy down about that car.
I tried to install this screen on a IS200T before, just make sure you get the navi option IS200T for the one I have in link. But if you dont get the Navi option IS200T, you can order this screen for the non navi lexus also, just gotta contact the seller.
Can the screen fit on other models such as the IS250?
It is compatible. You would just need to contact the seller and specify that it is a IS250 and not a RCXXX or RCF so that they can send you the unit with the proper vehicle displayed
Great video! I have a question though - we have a 2017 RC300h which does not have navigation. We bought the car two weeks ago and Lexus sold it to us as a navigation model, so they are fitting standard navigation in for us at their cost. Would installing standard navigation involve the same process of removing the centre console etc or is standard navigation simply a box that fits in the glove compartment? Just curious what Lexus will actually be doing to our car! Cheers!
Great question. So i do know and had experience with trying to hook one of the screens in this video to a non navi lexus IS200t. It did not work only because the wiring harness to the oem infotainment system which is the giant cd player that i said “its going to be weird but you just have to yank on it”. They would need to replace the wiring and the cd player unit/climate control unit as well.

First thing you need to do is have a constant wifi source connected. Without that, its not happening

The steering wheel functions exactly the same. The OEM navigation and all those features are built into the CD player so there was no loss of function removing the OEM screen. When placing a phone call, it depends on which system you are connected to, whether android or OEM screen. The bluetooth can be either or. The OEM mic and such works only for the OEM unit. Hopefully this answers the question.

I show how to transfer the files to the android screen. Do that and it wont lag anymore. But for short, go to file manager and copy the file and not move the file.

How’s this holding up a year later? 1k is a lot for a 2017 car that should’ve come with this standard. Lexion appears to be one of two manufacturers for this and I want to know it’s worth it before I pull the trigger!

Hi Boonthai, the screen has been great. I recently traveled across US with it and no issues, im always on CarPlay, never back to oem factory screen. However, im still trying to find a touchpad trackpad.

Hi, yes it will actually. This model is for RC models specifically so you would fit right in. You can also contact their customer service to check but I can tell you right now it will.

so how did the gps antenna function after driving? Does it work without issues hidden in the dash? also what was the final spot you placed your mic?
The final mic position i placed it next to the left temperature slide feature. Look for my video instrument bezel trim replacement. Or look up my 3 month review video of this screen. I show the final spot. Kinda hard to describe to you in words. I use waze on carplay more than the navi app the android screen came with so I wouldnt be able to tell you. Sorry
I install this unit 3 years ago now I am having nothing but interference when I touch any radio function has anybody had this problem.

@@thehuangbros my screen has been stuck booting on the Lexus screen. I've disconnected the negative battery connector for an hour, nothing.. Removed the entire head unit, still nada. After days on the forums, I found that a firmware update might be needed. I lost her WhatsApp contact from our group buy (Facebook group).
Whats the speaker n mic for that screen for?
they are for the screen to use for voice for CarPlay if you use that feature. But the screen uses the oem speakers and mic.
I have this and it’s very unstable and CarPlay doesn’t work well. Screen is nice though.

Factory usb works with the oem side of the screen. The new usb works with the android side of the screen.

Its going to suck but I recommend taking it apart and check your connections and ensure the pins on the adapters are not bent

One of my plugs on the radio was different than yours so maybe I didn't install the right way entirely but all the plugs worked idk..and I can't even get back to my oem screen all it does for me is go to radio and bt. I guess I did it to myself, it's raining and everything just going to have to tackle it another day or bring it somewhere. By the way, awesome video ! Helped out tremendously

I just tried the site also. That is truly weird that it says minimum order 2. Try ordering a lexion screen. Ive heard great things about them and that the touchpad works with it no issues.
What Did you do to secure the top of the screen to keep it from falling down?
Its in my other video talking about the features. Remove the oem yellow tabs or blue tabs and transfer to new screen

Yeap they do. Just have to go to the carplay awaiting connection screen and go to setup and set it correctly to make the buttons useful.
Just finished installing my 10.25 android wireless CarPlay unit, everything went smoothly and everything is plugged in. I am getting absolutely no audio what so ever from the unit itself. I am only getting audio from the OEM Lexus interface which I can’t even see actually, when I click on CAR, it brings me to a no signal page when I am supposed to be seeing my OEM Setup screen. Any help?
Did you follow my steps in the video or just went straight to putting everything back in without turning the screen on mid way? Either or, I highly suggest checking the pins on the adapters behind the screen first to ensure it is not bent. If no damage found, i suggest checking the back of the oem navigation computer which is the cd player unit you pull out to attach the piggyback wiring
@@thehuangbros followed all your steps, I actually got the updated unit, the one with wireless CarPlay. From the same vendor tho. The weird thing is the screen recognizes when I turn the volume up and down with the knob on the CD player but when I connect my phone to the CarPlay unit it self, no audio at all. I will definitely check all the pins.

Do you think the Beatsonic Front Camera can be added? Is there an option for a 2nd camera on the settings besides back-up camera?

Got the unit installed, but I can not get the volume to work on any of the Android sides navigation apps. Does it need to be in AUX mode on the OEM side?

Thanks, so that's telling me there is something wrong with my system. It's intermittent each time, it works sometimes and if I turn the car off and come back it does not work.

Is this the Lexion screen? I want to do this upgrade, but honestly am waiting for a screen option that is close to flawless. I heard good and bad things about the Lexion screen. Some people have issues.
This is not Lexion and I havent had issues yet.
hey, quick one, I will try those steps on IS 300h, but wanted to quickly check should we not remove the negative terminal of battery so that the airbags are not deployed due to some issues?
If you do that, youre not going to be able to pit car in accessory mode to move shifter lever. Also you would have to be hit from the outside for it to pop unless you do something outside of my video to have that happen. There are her videos where they dont remove negative terminal. You can if you want but I dont see the purpose of it, itll hinder this procedure

Hey I installed one myself, I was wondering if your trackpad works with CarPlay Becuase mine doesn’t, as well as if your CarPlay audio is staticky when using the screens auxiliary.
Hi Brandon. So there is a step that I missed in this installation. There is a small AUX plug in that they provide that you are suppose to plug into the oem AUX port, that should help relieve the staticky noise. As for the trackpad, it works but at a lesser degree. Its a little delayed and inaccurate but overall it works still. Is that what your trackpad is exhibiting as well or completely not working? if not working, I would check all the plugs do not have pinched pins.

I have this exact one but I have no sound
USB2 plug on dongle and activate the carplay app.
