To be honest it’s fine to use a female Oc, but just ensure to let them know you’re male first so that it’s less weird for you and don’t get called anything you don’t want to.
Honestly I don’t think there is any problem with this. They aren’t changing their gender, it’s just their OC! Most people’s Ocs don’t look like them irl. I think they should put their pronouns in their desc or sum.
