  • ~ How we used 3D animation to reveal our mermaid doll stand! ~
Did you like Nerissa's doll stand reveal with the 3D animation? Were you interested to see how we filmed and used animation to insert her into the scene? Well, this is the video for you!
My wife, Mae, uses Blender. She's been really getting into 3D sculpting, and wanted to try her hand at animation. Perhaps an underwater scene isn't a great place to start though! haha!
Any-hoo, I hope you enjoy this DollyPop mini episode!

She spent so much time on it. The whole video was delayed by another week because she STILL wasn't finished with the reveal. But she REALLY wanted to do it. Just maybe not underwater next time. lol!

I didn't realize how much went into making such a short scene, well done!
.....that being said, at 0:40 I spy an animal cage in the background 👀 may I inquire who lives in there? 😂 I always love seeing people's pets lol
anyways great work to you and your wife! I like this kind of mini episode between the longer ones to see more of the behind the scenes stuff!! thanks for sharing

It was a TON of work. I’m sad that folks don’t notice more of it. But that’s the sign of good CG, right? 😉
Ahhhh… that’s *cough* one *cough* of our rat cages. We have a sorority of female rats in there. 🥰 Minnie, Daisy, Agrias, and Gadget. ❤️

      @@DollyPop awww how cute!
And honestly it takes a lot of work to make something look effortless, so if nothing else it means you're doing such a good job you're making it look easy lol

I spent 35 hours making a 30 second trailor for a friend's podcast YT video . No one understands that it can take hours to create seconds of video.

It's beautiful, perfect for any mermaid doll, That would look perfect for my next mermaid doll but I use bendable joint Disney princess doll.
    Instruction's:
Remove head with boil water, then trim out old hair that's beyond help
    remove rubber legs
wire, bandage tape, scraps of fabric to hot glue around,
find the right mermaid scales for the bottom
make the top either fabric or sculpt
wire and freezer bags for fins
    yarn wefts for hair
Mr Super clear or Mr top coat
    Acrylic pencils and paint
    Jeffree Star make up
    chalk pastels
& there you have in your very own mermaid, I would have to find someone to 3d print their trident's or scepter much easier for me, see you next time. :D

Cool. But how did you animate the fish as they swam by? They are waddling back and forth
