- I wonder if Tom is any good at Secret H or Coup? I bet he sucks at literally any social deception board game, while Logan and Kendall would vote red every time and easily get away with it.... Anyway, the Normies review and discuss Season 2 Episode 9 of Succession after the reaction.

“You can't make a Tomelette without breaking some Greggs” 😂
maybe the best joke in the whole show
Logan deffo knew about Lester, in a previous episodes they even mention how Logan wouldn't have the kids around Lester.
Friends of people like Lester ALWAYS know. The Lesters of the world rely on that.
Writers were in their bag this episode lmao
I think the scene between Shiv and the victim is one of the most underrated in the show (and idk her name but I adore the performance of the actress playing the victim). Such a nuanced scene that manages to balance the grossness and the honesty (or rather, honesty for a gross purpose).
This scene in particular is one of the few we’ve had in which the characters come down from their ivory towers and interact with everyday people to such an extent
Sarah Snook does such a good job on every front, Shiv talks about Waystar Royco like it belongs to her and she genuinely sees it that way
Roman is not very serious or hoity toity like Kenshiv, but if you guys have noticed, he makes friends very easily. Laurence Yee from Vaulter in s1 HATED Kendall, but agreed to show up to the no confidence vote after dinner with Roman. He made friends at management training with people, and his creative ideas actually worked (they were marked as the best assignment in that program). I mean. He has worked in Waystar for years too. Just because he is not all formal like Shiv and behaves goofily doesn't make him a novice at this.
for real
The fact Tom sent that email every 2 hours might be as funny as the email itself
He actually sent that email the whole evening and it was only in those 2 hours he didn’t
I forgot "con heads" was introduced in this episodes hahaha.
Shiv showed how people in power pretend to care for the victims and use them. Gil is so frustrating because HE HAD THEM, but then started talking about ATN and it's affects on people. Instead of focusing on the FACTS and allowed Kendall that opening. By the way, Kendall actually didn't say anything, it sounded great but what did actually say?
Like you said he didn’t add anything to clear ATN but he did rebuke Gil, which LOOKS like a win.
@@shahriachowdhury9552 Right. We're here to talk about Waystar negligence and protection of a predator for decades and actually freaking killings & cover ups, why are we talking about ATN? That was more of a Gil screw up, than great Kendall.
Gil presents himself as fighting for the common person but like an average politician, he can't help himself from grandstanding and doing things for political points. Congressional hearings are almost unwatchable because stuff like this happens all the time regardless of party. It seems like a rare thing if a Congressional leader sticks to the point in these type of hearings.
Yep, it's all about optics. It doesn't matter what you're saying, if you sound good while saying it, people will support you.
oh no it was defo a win for Kendall, to have a loser in Gil you have a winner in Kendall; he looked good on TV, his father was happy with his bidding and also the other senator wants a drink with these fine gentlemen!@@ejr87r
so, i think we can all agree that these are the best Succession reactions yet, right? even with Pat and his horrific takes haha, he’s still a fun reactor and Suraj, Rana and Chris are just the fucking best, they totally get this show
It’s up there with Jimmy Macram and Diegesis for me.
I think these 4 all balance each other out so It works well too. But imo Diagesis is #1 when it comes to succession.
Edit: Blindwave is great too now that they began! Love those dudes
Michelle Needs a Hobby is also a great Succession reactor. She’s really observant and understands the subtleties and foreshadowing of the show.
They're soo good. Just wished they'd post more often.
Everyone should check out the reactions by Palashus
Pat, the genius, hears 'Central Asia' and responds with China, a country not in Central Asia
Bro in the blue so righteous with the “me personally” shit.. he’d be the quickest to fold under pressure for sure
I interpret Shiv’s speech to the woman, about how this case will haunt her forever and how everyone is just doing what’s best for them, as a way to highlight how the “no real person involved” sentiment is also mirrored on the “righteous” side that Gil is taking, where really he was just as willing to sacrifice this woman by dooming her to a life of potential harassment just to beat Logan
the Roy siblings shine this episode
Pat: "Greg, I wouldn't take any of that."
Everyone (including me): "It's LOGAN."
Kendall’s state media line isn’t a real snap btw, plenty of democracies far healthier than USA have state media (like my own Aus) - the trick is making sure it’s state funded, but not state controlled. Done right, and it’s basically the most trustworthy model of news possible. You can also have private, independent not-for-profit news like The Guardian.
After the whole David McBride saga though, I think we're going to have to count Australia's state media out of the "free" subset.
Pat is deeply ignorant. I can’t see the bottom of the pool.
Pat saying 5 mil isn't enough to retire on acting like he's part of that lifestyle while sitting there in a cheap shirt with buttons barely holding on has my dying.
How is it possible that every word out of this guy's mouth is some profoundly inane shit?
Wild to bring the buttons into this but accurate
His intellect is astonishing
It isn't enough to retire if you plan on upping your quality of life. You make it sound like what he said was wrong.
That's a disgusting comment about Pat's shirt. You can disagree with him and not go personal.
He really is a very different with his thoughts no doubt, but he is entitled to his opinions
Shiv ate that scene with the victim. The power dynamics were so uncomfortable to watch.
You guys should react to Veep. The writing is very similar and it’s a straight comedy about the politicians in DC. This episode is very similar to an episode of that show in terms of the amazing one liners and spineless ppl only looking out for themselves. Highly recommend!
Next week's reaction is gonna be epic. Counting down to the "But..."
Do you really believe that Shiv was gonna help her and actually take care of the people in the wrong? I think Shiv at that point would have said anything she had to, to make it go away, and only really cared about scoring points with Logan (which is exactly what happened by the end of the episode). I feel Shiv is just as morally corrupt as others in the company, and is only looking for her self interest, like everyone else.
100% agree, it’s a facade since the worst person and most responsible is arguably Logan and she runs straight to him for approval.
For me the acting was so good that some people believed that shiv genuinely wanted to help her. That’s what politicians do the people every day
She's arguably the best in the family at being a master manipulator; steering the victim to her side by sprinkling her feigned support with a variety of truths & empty promises. Just as vile as the rest of the real-life billionaire family members who help enable & perpetuate awful doings.
There’s a really great character analysis I read a few months back on Shiv’s character and how she’s a perfect representation for liberal or “white” feminism. Shiv is aware about her difficulties being a woman in her fathers eyes but in the same breath will turn around and put down a victim if it means getting an ounce of power the men in her lives have. Love how that scene is written all together.
The next episode is my favorite of the series and one of my favorite episodes of television ever!
Two William Strykers in the same episode!
Pat really thinks he's tougher than he really is
this episode is so great, its fun to see the siblings play their parts and do their jobs in this way.
Lmao Pat at 26:50 "its gonna be Roman they're not gonna pay the hostage" what are you talking about man (I realize he probably meant the ransom but even then, what?)
tbh, i barely understood what predicament Roman was in so I cannot judge Pat thinking he was being held for ransom.
@@rexibhazoboa7097 Yeah but the conversation in that moment is about who to throw under the bus for the cruise stuff, has nothing to do with the Roman situation
Pat could buy a bigger shirt with $5 mil that’s for sure
Quite possibly the best episode of the series comedy wise. Boar on the floor and this are tied for me
I do love Janitors of Idaho from a comedy perspective.
@@shahriachowdhury9552 ‘what’s in the box?’
‘That is an imaginary cat now can you please fuck off?’ 😂
Good the wire reference Chris
The where’s Wallace line
I am still in awe of their dislike of Connor
Same. I find him the least offensive out of the bunch and am always baffled by their disdain while still having any kind of affection for the rest of them. It's fascinating lol
I'm calling it now: as the show reveals more about his and his moms backstory they are gonna laugh instead of sympathize...
Connor makes people uncomfortable
The thing about Connor that I didn't notice until a rewatch, is that he is easily the most genuine of all the Roy children. He's definitely a terrible person like the others are, but he always says what he means and doesn't have ulterior motives behind his actions.
Maybe it’ll start to turn around after his speech about how he took Roman fishing and sort of served as a pseudo father figure for them. Also I feel like people had a lot of sympathy for him after his “I don’t need love” speech.
Tom left a breadcrumb trail of jokes with his crime😂
Some of the writers worked on ‘The Thick Of It’ if you’re loving the insults
Can't beat British cutting humour.
So many funny lines, love Hugo’s “two assholes” jibe and Shiv’s totally blindsided face.
remember the video you made about the Johnny amber trial
With Vince McMahon, it came down to him not fulfilling his NDA payments to the woman. And unlike the other alleged victims, this woman had text messages that don’t exactly incriminate Vince; but definitely prove he’s a pervert that abused his position of authority. That’s more then enough for TKO to make him resign
Tom was bombing so hard lmao
Are full length reactions available on patreon?
Cause it doesn’t say that in the tier list so I’m just wondering
#sundayrundown #Succession is it me, or is Succession just a serious version of Arrested Development lol
Kendall owned him ngl
18:25 I think this was the prince Mohammed Bonesaw thing that happened years ago
What no
They say that 5 millions is not enough to retire because for people with their lifestyle it is really not enough.
20:22 The editor's spitting facts
This is like MBS. When he locked up people in the 4 seasons.
I would've loved to see a politician or rich person be stupid enough to be associated with this show, like when Hillary did a promo for House of Cards
I'm here for any and all WWE talk!
Rana turning into a mother before our eyes
The reason Logan didn’t answer if he took part in any assaults is probably because they didn’t specify sexual 😂 he psychologically and verbally assaults people daily you think he can remember if he did or didn’t get physically violent with someone on the boat
are they watching the 3 body problem?
You can’t buy a even a run down efficiency ford 100k where I live 😩😩😩
You guys should watch THIS IS US
14:40 Fun fact: this guy used to act in brownface
If you guys haven’t seen Veep..I beg you to react to it 😂 the insults are top fucking tear 👍
27:54
Goated show

This show is nothing to me without Tom and Gregg combo.
I'm stealing HJ Novak
