I remember watching Tom jones on tv when I was a kid! His voice is literally so rich + powerful that no one, can match him. I’ve never been a fan of The Voice for a million reasons. Then The Voice UK came on my CZcams feed. Big difference- this show draws you in- because of Tom jones performing on it! I’ve listened to quite a few of his performances over the last few wks. Listened to his performance of “ Delilah” many times. Probably the sexiest song I’ve ever heard!!! His moaning is very earthy- masculine- you name it. Add the incredible voice + its dynamic!!! I do wish however- that his private life had been that- private😊 it’s not an attractive quality to cheat on your wife-- that is very sad cause he seems like such a nice man-- some women obviously don’t have such a moral high ground either! I guess it’s hard to know you’re great at what you do+ women throw their underwear at you!!! I’m a woman- not a prude by any stretch- but some things just aren’t right🤷♀️anyhow- I love listening+ watching Tom perform👩🏻🦳🤗

This guy has been in the game almost 60 years now, and he still slays it. Amazing. If you look at old video clips of Tom singing and dancing on his TV show from back in the early 70's, the guy is absolutely on fire. Literally. He was like the U.K.'s version of Elvis. On steroids.
And he was a serious playboy playa in tha game while being married.the entire time and he did the first denied and then embarrassed of both his transgression and the obvious lack of disgression in his infidelity leading to a denial of paternity and later when hit with reality & a child support order- STILL refused to acknowledge the illegitimate proof until his dying days....easy before EDDIE murphy did it! Lol. He was self- admittedly like the wilt chamberlain of the music world back in the day!!! Love him though, he's finally matured into his "SIR" title and role

You know why Tom sounds so great? He came from an age when they didn't have autotune or post-production processing. Hell, they barely had stereo and multitrack recording. Artists had to be good all on their own with nothing to help them.

The guy turned 80 last year. Incredible that he still has a good voice at this age. He was always known as a great entertainer but his voice was underrated for sure.

I agree with the replies to this comment. Back in the day Tom was never under rated, in the industry, by his piers, they were wholly impressed. I do believe that television and especially Vegas did market his sexuality and showmanship more than his vocal ability, that is just the nature of Vegas. It happened to many great talents who also had the chemistry and looks to sell. Not to say that their musical ability and natural, raw talent weren't even more impressive (unlike many now a days), but sex sells and Vegas marketers know that.
Here is Tom doing what he was born to do with more of an emphasis on vocal skill and not so much on the hyper sexuality...well, to the degree that it was not the focal point.

Aye I dont think he was under rated. He was an absolute legend and this legends voice has got better as he gets older which Is ridiculous!! My dads 71 and this is his favourite performer of all time, I went with him to Edinburgh castle to see him perform... incredible!! Was like a hen-do on viagra!! Even at this age he is still leaving snail trails!!

This is why I like the UK Version over the US, these moments with Tom Jones and also Jennifer Hudson signing in between really makes the show much more entertaining and fun. Actually makes the judges look like they like each other and have fun together

I saw another clip where he checked with the band first, "Bb, yeah?" (Band leader at keyboard nods) And he launches into the song. So they already know what key he wants to sing the songs in. The band (and the band leader) have their act together .. well done.

As a kid, I loved Tom Jones, but it’s clear to me that he likes singers who scream. 😂😝 But kudos to Tom. He was married to the same woman from 1957-2016 until her death. ♥️💕♥️💕♥️💕♥️💕
