May this series never end.
All the way to 450,000 elo
Love this series eric helps my caro a lot👍🏼
First game: "Look, it's a Caro-Kann! --No, it's a Slav! --No, it's a Stonewall!"
Damn Eric is a beast, love to both Aman and Eric
appreciate this speedrun and your authenticity hansen. you don’t come off as a arrogant fake person which a lot of ppl do nowadays
I've met both Aman and Eric in person and I can attest that they are both gentleman.
@@sash4593you saying support these guys?
Like who?
@@Alpacastan21m like u
@@die8956awww thank you
For those who care, Völlig (or voellig) is not actually a German forename. His username is voellig schwerelos which translates to completely weightless. It might be a reference to the quite popular German song Major Tom from around 1982.
Best chess channel, love these speedruns
Anyone else go “where’s your knight going?” in their games? Learning important things from Eric, clearly.
IM NOT DONE YET
@@ericgilmore5949 ok, sir.
is this theory?
@@oussamael162I ask myself that all the time when an opponent does some weird shit in the opening 😂
People are playing well because a lot of us probably grew up seeing the standard Caro- and QGD ideas. I have a friend of mine who is an intermediate player, but he's a Caro-Kann monster.
What's the intro song?
Man Eric is so good.. I always feel so noob watching him
At 50:56, I think black can play qb2 while the white queen is pinned to avoid only winning an exchange and instead win the whole white queen. Am I wrong?
what is the intro song name?
Where can we download the music? The "Over U "extended remix is dope
Great series!
Im loving this series
This is Super Helpful, thank You Erik!
I thought Amans vids vere great, but this one is 1st series I watch with you and I'am amazed. Will see it few more times again for sure 🖖
you guys are the best! just got your sweatshirt, looking forward colder days to wear it :-)
11:15 Eric thinks his roooook is a king
34:19 he miscalculates😅.... 34:41 he realizes
eric, before u moved bishop g4, did you have rook takes d3 follow by queen takes a4 therefore giving up the rook for two pieces? in your game vs yeebruh21
seems simple and smooth
Love your games bruh
Kazakh players are insane
nice caro brah energy
Hey guys at 55:42 wasn't bishop to b4 a winning move?
awesome.
I know I’m a bit late but doesn’t he have ne3? Forking the rook and queen
4:15 what is the name of the tune Eric likes?
Love this opening alot thaaaaaanks
21:53, isn't ke3 a good move? Forking rook and queen
34:06 rxd3 wins another exchange
Man this speedrun was great! What will the next speedrun be?? Scandinavian?
I think it would be a very ballsy move to create a speedrun for the Grob! If Eric could get to 2400 with the Grob I'll personally send him a check for $1000 US😅
52:00 funny how he talks at length about the opponent's name "voelig" although the handle just means "fully weightless"
Someone please tell me the name of the song in the background at the intro?
I want to know the same lol
@AFatherToTheFatherless ITS SO GOOD! HAHA I bet it's on their spotify plylists but haven't dove in far enough yet
Is it equally easy against e4 and d4? What's your experience?
I'm surprised people at 1800 are still putting there knights in front of the c pawn in the Caro
anyone know the first song?
Does anyone know the song playing at 25:30?
Not me
Anyone knows song at 21:50?
Finally at my rating range 😍
G4u!
22:01 Dudes got a picture of himself shirtless on a chess website. Feels out of place. Wrong site brah!
Question for higher rated players, what is the best aspect of the game to practice in order to climb from roughly 1000-1400 rating?
1900 rapid here, for me it was openings because it stopped me from blundering early in the game by being familiar with the kinds of positions I was getting into while also being aware of the kinds of blunders my opponents could make or of plans in the positions in the middle game which arise from that opening if my opponent doesn't blunder.
Tactics. Helps you avoid blunders, and helps start building up pattern recognition.
This is mostly for middle games: understanding what your and your opponents goals in specific games are is quite important. Like when your opponent makes a move, think 'what are they trying to do with this/build towards?'. Pay attention to the position and where weaknesses are. This is things like noticing pieces are pinned, noticing that if a certain piece moves, you can move to a strong square or capture something, seeing what pawns or pieces you can attack and might make them uncomfortable to defend.
A big way to improve this is look at the engine after you've played a game. The engine obviously sees where you should apply pressure. See what moves it suggests, and be sure to to try rationalise why these moves are good! Also I find Danya's speedrun series very very helpful in getting into this mindset of thinking about the moves and their purpose
@@kaspervercruysse5710 should look at engine. But develops a better positional understanding, by analysing without the engine first.
21:55 you missed a fork
nah trade queen better when ur up a piece...white queen so annoying btw
@@monasagain You can win the rook then force a queen trade a couple of moves later the king is safe from threefold genius
Yeh, I think he missed the fork.
Eric, the man with the mind of a trap
Do all these players get their rating back? It feels a bit unfair playing Eric and losing rating cos of it
yes they do
Okay we reached the level these games get difficult for me lol
lol i get a kick out of eric getting pissed with viewers giving suggestions. i mean people genuinely think they have a good move, poor eric is like how dare yall fuck up XD just makes me laugh i enjoy it
nice ❤
How does he always plays as black?
he plays the bird opening with white. it's another series.
@@jonatanandvanie7493 Makes sense, thanks
Song name in beginning?
50:54 no.. you don't win an exchange and No, you don't have to give up your queen Hansen!.. because you have Qb2 (queen cannot be taken by white Queen because white queen is pinned... next move you take the white queen and dont have to give up your own queen.. (obviously the move choice you played in game was better)
But after 1...Qb2 2. Qxb4 axb4 3. Rxa8 - and black's knight on b8 is hanging with two attackers and zero defenders. Overall white trades their queen for a bishop, a rook and a knight, which seems favourable. I didn't consider Qxb4 while watching the game, but from white's perspective its the only thing worth looking at after ...Qb2.
Starting FEN: "rn2k2r/1p3p1p/2p1ppb1/p7/1b1P1B2/1PQB1N2/q1PK1PPP/R6R b kq - 0 1"
Thx.

23:05 high as a kite and smug as a mf gm ask the patzers a question 😅😅
The name of the german is not voellig 🤣 it means „fully“ in german. The complete name is fully heavyless“ or something
