@ScreamingBloodyGore , My nana was Iroquois, first you need to learn how to spell it, lol! Remember what your grandparent (s) told you while whispering in a garden..that is what will impact you thruout your life time. Haven't thought about music as far as it related to my nana in a LONG time..but found this by following my nose, so to speak.

Yes, one tribe may sing to another tribe's song, but it's good that people are learning and want to reattach themselves to a native culture and bring it back alive!!

Hey all, I am a budding musician and a proud descendant of the Iroqois nation. Though I am only 1/4 native american, i still feel a strong connection to the natural ties and my ancestry. Cultural music and customs like this impact my writing style a lot, thank you for posting!

@knapper2000 It's amazing how many cultural traditions are similar between apparently different people. I believe we can learn from each other and realize we have a lot in common. Happy New Year! Jennifer Kumar, Cross-Cultural Coach

Thank you for sharing this. I am happy to learn about this. Does this happen because the Native American cultures were kind of phased out and also people want to grab for anything that may be native? But cultural understanding and sharing is good too. There is so much to learn.
