I was lucky enough to witness tool play triad in erie pa in 2003 while they toured with meshugah. They performed this same set up with meshugah drummer coming out to play with Danny. Was truely a once in a lifetime experience and the greatest show I've ever seen in my life. Made it all that much better it was played in a smaller venue and they performed a couple songs on the set list they normally never play live.
Seeing Tool live is at the top of my bucketlist. If I hear D-R-T (the holy trinity of Tool songs) live, I'll die happy. Just gotta wait for this pandemic to fuck off

Yeah he plays bass. He used to play bass in the 80s. I know for sure with Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty. You can see him play it online. There's video. Wish he played more bass or helped with guitar parts but he's a busy man. Doubt he has interest in learning an instrument or practicing at this point in his career and life.

I had the great pleasure of being at this show, it was truly awesome, and I remember Maynard stating that they were recording it, was always hopeful for a live DVD of this show one day, now I just pray that they actually complete and release their last album one day.

And yes Pneuma is sweet, but what about, "7empest", and if you start to listen to APC / Puscifer, it starts to open up new realms of sound. And believe me, as good as this sounds for an old youtube video, it's not even close to the power that came off that stage that night, and if they (Tool) were really recording that night, I would love to have them release something from that show and possibly whole tour. Pneuma is my favourite Tool track and I'm being honest here. THe whole track as a whole just hits me. Danny's drumming, Maynard's vocals, the lyrics, the guitars riff. It's beautiful. 7empest is the second best track off FI for me.
Just an unbelievable performance. Really legendary. Tool does this concert song a lot but this version with that unbelievable guest drummer in perfect unison to boot is just a climax beyond all others. An iconic, epic instrumental.
I’ve caught them on the Lateralus/10000 Days and Fear Innoculum tours and my best memories of Tool live was the Lateralus tour. The stage setup, the set list, Meshuguh, everything was perfect. I was too young for Undertow and Aenima tours.
Tool are the 3 instrumentalists, maynard provides vocals. My interpretation of this song is maynard allowing these genius's shine. Its not the words that make us tool fans, its the music. Them 3 guys strutting their stuff!

This is San Diego, November 21, 2002. I was there with my dad and i have this specific full video in its entirety. I have 70 gigs of live tool vids, a big portion being 2001-2002, and this is by far the best performance on this song.

I saw them during this tour on two dates, Reno and I think Oakland (might have been San Jose). To this day this is one of the greatest performances I’ve ever seen. You had to be there in person, the sheer power and extra drumming addition was epic. Really took Triad to a different level. Me and the buddy I went with still talk about this song performance 20 years later
one of the best concerts i have been too. Not this show but seeing them live was just life changing. Honestly the only show I can just meditate and feel one with the music.
