- ( www.TFLcar.com ) The Classic & Sexy 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta spider is an affordable Italian sports car. Welcome to Forza Friday: a new TFLcar series of classic Italian rides that will be featured every Friday on TFLcar. This week we continue with a car that has it all. If you want a sexy and fun Italian sports car without all of the baggage of the F word...that would be Ferrari, the 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta is the car for you. Not only does it have a racing pedigree, an Italian zest for speed, but as we explain in this fun and informative TFLcar Forza Friday video it is affordable and reliable. These are two words that rarely go together when discussing old Italian classic cars.

I owned two of these, and drove them for years. They were always my 'daily-driver' (I never could afford to have an extra 'toy' car), and they were easily the most-fun cars I've ever owned. They were also very reliable, and dead-easy to fix. You only had to have a handful of special tools (for valve-adjustments, and such), and a reasonable level of mechanical competence. Just a great car...
"People smile when they see it. They don't look at it and say 'Rich SOB in a Ferrari, they say 'Wow, Cool Old Alfa". For me, That's the attraction right there !!! Gorgeous.
Gearolie skift på alfa giulietta
Had a 1966 1600. Looked just like this. Loved it. Very well built and reliable. Not even one electrical problem.
My dad has one we restaured together, its from 64. Awesome awesome car, which you could get for 25 to 30k 8 years ago, now original ones go for 100k and climbing. The handling is absolutely excellent, American cars of the day were an order of magnitude away in that department at the time.
One thing though, the electrics are really unrealiable, get the later German starter motor if you can, the original Italian ones are really quick in the wearing down.
Also I couldn't tell you why but my dad's makes such a beautiful sound, while this one has that chainsaw agressive sound to it, which I would love in a Suzuki but definetely doesn't fit with this car.
1963 grey, red interiors, original italian plate MILANO! 1600 cc 5 gears, 92 cv: strong and reliable engine. no questions. just in case, fix and set it properly: you will really enjoy it for years and years! tomorrow morning? an expresso cafe in via Montenapoleone, downtown in Milan! cool.
Beautiful car. I fell for the Giuletta Spider when I first saw the 1973 movie "The Day of the Jackal", in which the Jackal drives a 1963 Giulietta Spider, since the story is set in 1963. I love the exhaust note of these cars, but I'm wondering if the exhaust on the car in this video is stock. It sounds a bit more throaty and aggressive than others I have heard. Great video.
By the way, a fully restored, show-quality 1960 Giuletta Spider goes for between $75 and $100,000.
What a car!
Beautiful.
Sexy.
Sweet lines.
Reminds me of my first girlfriend, minus the drama.
I saw one of these exact same cars downtown today and instantly fell in love!
My friend had one of these in High School in '64. It was blue. Double overhead cams were really, really cool back then.
Lovely little Alfa Giulietta…
I had a blue ‘62 when I was in High School. Wish I had it today!

It's easy to understand why he loves this car.
Great video.
Thanks!
Sweet. Love vintage cars especially Alfa.
Sounds great! Really nice little car. I'm not a huge fan of Alfa... but this one almost changes my mind.

Love Alfas... but how about reliability?
This one's running ain't it? Seriously? I have owned one. A 1966 that looked like this with a 1600. My opinion is actually higher now than before i owned one. Build quality was better than i expected.
