It was sweet and innocent yet wise and beyond your younger years. I wish that you could join one of these freestyle tours it would be amazing to hear you sing this song. Many props go out to your producer because he sequenced the beats and drum machine to perfection. The baseline comes in at the right time to make the song bump! But the control you have with your voice is just angelic!! You hold a note long enough to change up your tone and align with the rhythm perfectly. You allow the listener to feel what you are going through. And most of all the lyrics are so good they hurt because every man reading this message can relate to how we messed up a good thing by playing the field in the 80’s and early 90’s. The only thing is I didn’t play the field even if I could get other beautiful women and prided myself on seeing a women through before I moved in to the next one. I used to have girl wanting to go out with me when I had a gf but they didn’t know it, but didn’t take advantage of the situation. I could’ve said to myself, hey the girls didn’t ask me if I had a gf or not and assumed I was single, but I never did. Not saying I didn’t grow up like other men that wanted to be a lady’s man, but I understood that I didn’t like being hurt by others and wasn’t going to be selfish and cause that in others. Also, girls need to ask guys they like if they are single or not, but since most girls don’t do the asking, they feel awkward asking that, bc they don’t want to come off being desperate or get rejected. So they usually make subtle hints.
I fucking love this song with my heart I wasn’t born in the 80s or 90s ima 2000s baby my mom would constantly play these awesome 80s and 90s jams I love them it reminds me of going to my cousins house and grandmas house just having a good time eating barbecue carne asade cruising on Mission Blvd in Riverside California those are really the best times in life when you listen to a certain song and it just brings back those happy memories you had as a kid I love my Mom ❤️ thank you for showing me this amazing music

Dj Cameron Paul did so much for the SF Bay Area’s Dj community and dance music. I followed him from the beginning at Stidio West. where he started djing before djing for City Nights club and KMEl. A true master and legend of djing. RIP Mr. Cameron Paul and thanks for inspiring so many of us.
Oh and I remember Davy D and he was kind of low key and used to come to Star Records all the time. I think in 90-91, he was working for KMEL. I still can picture him and he always wore like 5 panel cap and a black baseball jacket with leather sleeves. I think it was a KMEL jacket with the big logo on the back.

I love my Freestyle music. I still have this on a 12” single but to be honest, compared to other hits of the time, this is bland Freestyle.
