- Learn how to add multiple data sources and how to create blended data sources in a single Looker Studio report. Adding multiple data sources lets you present different data using your charts, and blending data can be used to combine data from multiple sources to create new metrics. In this video, we will cover how to create a blended data source using data from two Google Analytics properties. Let's get started!

Hi! I find the content of your channel very interesting with an excellent contribution to the community. I'm switching from Power BI and Tableau to Looker, what I find a bit tricky is date handling. For example; group the dataset by specific months and years. It would be nice to see a video on this topic.
Thanks for this video, it helped me solve the issue I was having combining exported legacy UA data that I had exported into multiple Google Sheets.
This was helpful. Thank you.
Great video! I've realised that I've been combining multiple keys from multiple sources and clearly that messed with my results. Do you have any advice for combining GA4 and UA properties, seeing that both have a few different data points? Many of my clients I work with still require their UA performance reports and have GA4 but it makes it challenging to show page bounce rates for example in GA4.
Thanks for the video! When you have hundreds of data sources in GA4, is there a better automatic way to connect and retrieve all of them? Maybe changing BI tool?
Mantap , kopi mana kopi 👍
Awesome thanks ❤
Great info here! Liked and subscribed. Are you having trouble adding a data source like so many others? I'm not able to copy an existing report/create a new data source. A video on this would be very helpful.
Can Looker create an Item Card that shows the final balance for each sales transaction by deducting the sold quantities from the purchased items? Say the total purchase was 100 units distributed among 10 invoices in different dates with different invoice#?
Is there a way to compare two data sources in a single graph without blending them? For example, I'd like a single line graph showing the different trend lines between Universal Analytics and the new GA4...instead of combining those two sets of data into a single line of data.
how to create filter to filter the combined GA data?
if i want to filter only one session or conversion from one data source, but in the calculated field we add those two data source. is it possible?
Hey, can Google Sheets with few different tabs be imported to Looker? or do I have to use 1 Google Sheet per Looker?
Could we add rows from two data sources in Looker Studio?
Me gustó tu video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice, comparing apples with apples when blending data. But what about blending different data sources like GA + GAds into 1 graph?
exactly
This is a very useful video. I am trying to do the same thing however, in my case, I am joining 2 tables which don't have consecutive days in each table. Therefore I created a date dimension table which has 1 row per date and joined the 2 tables on that using the Date from the Date Dimension table in the visuals. However, Looker fails to group correctly with this approach. Could you do a video on this topic please?
The issue I'm having is pulling data from Google Ads and Facebook ads via Supermetrics (and NOT blending data from Google Sheets). Is it possible to blend to figure out total link clicks in a scorecard in google Data Studio?
Yes? Can you help me? I tried everything with blending inner joint, etc.. But doesn't show the total amount of link clicks of the two ad platforms.
No? Do I really need to use Google sheets to show this in Google Data Studio? How do I get my data of facebook ads in google sheets? And how do I update this regularly?
Thank you for helping me
Thank you for this. Much needed. Could I please ask you- Is there a way to join data based on something else other than date ? I am doing a report where I want to have
UA and GA4 data blended and I was wondering if there is another '' primary key '' we could use instead of date. Cheers !
You can use anything that’s common between the two data sources.
Thank you i am combining data sorces and feel more confident after watching. One question, will the data remain active post blend or is blening just a static snap shot of data.
Blending will continue to be applied to the data sources. So it’s dynamic.
hello...your vedios are much usefull. i have my data as multiple tabs in a same google sheet. can you help me how to crreate a time series chart with them?
Hi, thanks for your videos. On looker studio how to combine several data source from different google ads accounts for get one columns with the data of the URLs of the all the google ads accounts ? If possible use source of Google ads and not google sheet Regards
How to transform data like powerquery on looker ?
Muchísimas gracias por el video, el doblaje al español esta muy bueno
Incluso en inglés parece doblado jejeje
Hi can you help me about this issue, I keep getting randomly locked out of my data sources. Out of no where, all my fields will get the error of "Data Set Configuration Error", "Data Studio cannot connect to your data set.". When I go to adjust the data source I get the error "You do not have permission to view this datasource.". This has happened multiple times, with multiple data sets/reports.
Hi, I am still learning about blending data in Looker. So questions are:
1. How do I break down date data in a table? since looker act a pivot table in default.
2. When I try to blend 2 tables from 2 different sources it doesn't sum up, how to fix it? thanks
I am having trouble connecting the data - after I added rows to my Google Sheet, the new data doesn't show up in looker. I reconnected, refreshed, open and closed. I checked filters, etc. I need a tutorial on the settings in the connection screen (use first row as headers, include filters, range )
It gave me error, no data displayed.
I have followed all the formulas, I'm trying to calculate the percentage change between 2 sheets of my Google Search Console data
How do you blend categorical data though??
@LovesData Hello Benjamin, how to create a good template for google ads traffic/performance by day and hour? Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the video! how can you blend more than 5 data sources in looker studio? As the limit are 5 blend data, what are the solutions to this? Thanks
My pleasure! You could combine data in Google Sheets first or use a third-party connector.
Append is posible?
Is he dubbing his own voice? I feel like he's speaking so clearly that it looks like a robot.
Lets say i wanna blend all of my Google Ads data. I have 12 different accounts. How would you tackle this?
Good video, but it lacks guide on combining 2 different data sources (eg. GA4 and Google Ads), in the video you combine data from the same systems :(
I normally love your content, but this does not work at all. I am unable to connect any type of multiple data sources to an existing Looker Studio dashboard, without that new data source completely taking over all the other reporting widgets in the dashboard. I've tried to follow all of the methods used here and none of them work at all.
I’ve never had a case of adding a new data source changing existing charts in a report. That definitely sounds like a bug.
Deselect the chart if anything is selected and now click on the data source in Data tab on right hand side so that the column names tray minimises and you will find both days sources.
