Grew up in the Seattle area and the northwest has a huge soccer culture. I can tell you for sure this video doesn't do the atmosphere at a Sounders vs Timbers match in Seattle justice.
Not at all.
Only gentrifying yuppies even care that the Timbers or sounders exist at all. You have a really hard time accepting this .
Soccer is everywhere in The us
@@baccamau80yeah when you’re 9 year old in live in the suburbs.
I'm British living in the UK, and I'm a die hard Philadelphia Union fan. America and Canada have 2 sorts of fans. You have the fake fan who turns up for two weeks when a fading star turns up at LA, and you have teams like Portland, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Vancouver, and Montreal who have fans that were brought by their grandparents and will bring their grandkids.
There are so many UK and Eire MLS fans who caught on as Sky started to price UK fans out of footy.
It’s wild how sports rivalries differ in different regions in the US. Every region has their big rivalries that are almost always in different sports
Fun fact, either the sounders or the Timbers have been in the mls final for the past 7 years, so western conference champs have either been Seattle or Portland since 2015
There’s nothing like a full-stadium Portland vs Seattle game at CenturyLink stadium with 67,000 screaming Sounders fans. Well except maybe MLS Cup 2019 where they managed to pack in more fans than the stadium has even seen for the Seahawks American football. Deafening!
Complete bullshit you have a hard time accepting that nobody outside your yuppie little bubble, even cares of the MLS exist in the Pacific Northwest.
I’m a Sounders fan and it’s funny how the timber’s won first but now we have 2 and they only have 1
The greatest rivalry in NA is America vs Chivas my friend. In Mexico. We are part of North America
Was looking for the Does your Clint Hurt sign but came away disappointed... I think you would have appreciated that 😁
react to the goal of the season from every mls season, we love the footy vids man
Is MLS Not the MLS
@@tioluis8351 no it isn't or shouldn't be. I will admit I myself sometime say the MLS but it is wrong. I'm no Grammer need but you can see how it is wrong when you say the full name and not the abbreviation. You wouldn't say 'the' Major League Soccer. As opposed to the Premiere league which does make sense.
You should react to MLS Toronto vs Montreal rivalry
I live in North Carolina and we just got a mls team so it's about to be fun
Charlotte is in. Imagine if North Carolina FC also gets in and we have the Charlotte vs Raleigh rivalry in MLS. would be amazing
I’ve held that Cascadia Cup an it is glorious! RCTID!
I hope you become a victim of the crime with your victim hooligan fans helped create nothing goes together with soccer, quite like the riots started by antifa
toronto fc vs montreal rivalry is good..the english vs french canadian
If you come to Philly, Boston or New York you'll find that we just simply hate everyone and everything.
Valero is a gas station out here in the states hahahha Diego Valeri hahaha
React to Josef Martinez
The biggest Timbers/Sounders match of all time will always be the next one.
As a galaxy fan, our rivalry with LAFC is new, but also an extension of an older rivalry with a team no longer around, Chivas USA, which was also in LA and played in the same stadium as the Galaxy. When Chivas USA was failing in 2014 they were bought, and then rebranded as LAFC. A lot of Galaxy fans call LAFC "Chivas USA 2.0", so in a way, our rivalry is both old and young.
Although is not updated look up NHL Rivals: Boston Bruins versus Pittsburgh Penguins. This rivalry was due to multiple incidents in the late 1970s to 1980s which all boil to a head in the 1991 Prince of Wales Conference Finals when a controversial hit took this boiling feud to the max.
Watching this now and smiling cause we (Seattle) now have a trophy that the twigs will never get...Concacaf Champions League
I've watched your Lillard and Blazers (others too) videos so was glad to see you react to the Timbers/Sounders.
Wow! I’m a huge Sounders fan and just discovered your page and this is great... you could react to the history of Man U. They have vids. The history of your squad is insane with the early history, the wars, and the crash plus Ronaldo fack
Because of cultural, historical, and political ties to Europe, a lot of people expect MLS to reflect that.
The truth is that the league as a whole has a bit more of a Latin American flavor to it. The main reasons are proximity to Mexico and a large percentage of the fan base being first or second generation Latino.
Obviously, regional North American culture also enters into the equation.
I'm excited about being an MLS fan. The quality is rapidly improving and the value of the clubs themselves is skyrocketing. The most valuable clubs are worth $500 million. That's not much compared to European clubs or other American sports franchises. But the rate of value appreciation is staggering. Year-to-year increases of 20%-25% are the norm.
Of course, that's not sustainable growth. At some point, we must implement pro/rel. The thing to watch is actually the second division, the USL Championship. There are large cities with money, strong local support, and good talent who want in. With 30 teams in MLS, 36 in the second division, and a similar number in the third division (actually composed of 2 leagues), an overhaul of the league structure must happen... and it will, over the objections of MLS ownership.
Love this, also, 5 straight years of Cascadia teams (Seattle-Portland-Vancouver) reaching the MLS cup Finals
2015 - Portland (win)
2016 - Seattle (win)
2017 - Seattle (loss)
2018 - Portland (loss)
2019 - Seattle (win)
Vancouver, come on and represent!
As I write seattle and portland are at the top of the western conference, both poised to advance to the final.
What is cool about this is that the three way rivalry is intense and runs deep. My dad recounts the rivalry as it stood when he was a teen.
One of the other things to mention is that seattle and portland have some of the larger capacities when it comes to fans in stands in MLS. Seattle is regularly 45,000 but can expand to 65,000, Portland plays in a stadium built 95 years ago that holds 25,000 and is always packed (well outside covid), if they could seat more they would.
Seattle continued the streak this year
"Vancouver, come on and represent!" yeah tell that to our owner. Also Alphonso Davies
And keep in mind that Seattle played Toronto three times in four years. That has the possibility to be a great rivalry as well.
2020 - Seattle (loss)
2021 - Portland (loss)
You do realize nobody outside your hippie little bubble, even cares that we have an MLS teams in the PNW?
Portland vs Seattle has the biggest rivalry history in US Soccer and San Jose Earthquakes vs LA Galaxy has the most history within MLS alone. The league is kinda trying to forget about it to focus on Galaxy vs LAFC for marketing, and also cause the Quakes are awful now sadly, even though Galaxy and SJ fans will all say its the real rivalry in California. Would be cool to see you react to the video from the MLS channel called "The Greatest Playoff Game Ever" for an example of both old MLS (it was in 2003) and to see the big moment of that rivalry.
watch the Seattle vs Toronto little documentary.
Deandre Yedlin started his career in seattle
React to Montreal vs Toronto
The greatest soccer rivalry in NA is Chivas vs America
"Oh, that's a red card, right?"
"ehhhhhhhhhh...maybe...." - MLS Refs
Also, the Sounders are really good this year, maybe our best team ever. This video seems biased to Portland. They do not mention that the Sounders have never failed to make the playoffs, and, have won the US Open Cup 4 times en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seattle_Sounders_FC
And yet y’all bombed out of the playoffs in the first round - to a team who had zero shots.
That’s a shame…
I like the variety of different reactions it’s great man
Check out the latest game between these two
love to see them make a new one now that the sounders are in the finals 4 out of 5 years
Seattle been winning ever since 🔥🔥🔥
Not lately…
@@mazulauf CONCACAF champs
It’s dangerous to take your kids to these games, the video didn’t do the atmosphere at the timbers games any good, the entire north end of the stadium is chanting, jumping, singing through the entire game, and it is one of the loudest stadiums to play in, a good video to watch with the timbers MLS playoff journey is, “the double post”
Same with the Sounders.
Fun fact, Portland Timbers' stadium is literally baseball stadium from the 1890s in some form. It was officially completed on 1926. Which was stopped as a baseball stadium in 2000. Obviously, the stadium had been upgraded, and renovated over the years.
EDIT: there's a comment more history of the stadium
Actually a football stadium turned into a baseball stadium turned into a soccer stadium. With a bit of dog racing and ski jumping thrown in.
@@duaneeitzen1025 oh really? I didn't see any of that on the Wiki page. Then again, I skimped through.
Very unusual history with it's history of sports nonetheless
There are many "rivalries" in MLS that just exist because the teams are close. I'm a Columbus Crew fan and for years our rivals were Chicago and Toronto simply because they were the closest to us. Now we have an in state rival with cincy. It's not perfect but its better than our others. Portland and Seattle seem to be the biggest true rivalry that wasn't created by just placing teams near each other.
And then Seattle goes into their 3rd MLS final in 4 years and win their 2nd MLS Cup in 2019. All 3 finals were matched against Toronto. As of today they are tied for first place in the Western Conference with Portland and with games still need to be played today.
So proud of my team. #RCTID🌲
You should react to Josef Martinez highlights
It is the greatest rivalry in MLS Portland vs Seattle it has the History it has everything the hate and both teams are very good both step each other by winning a trophy that makes the other fan base very angry want to win the next game. When the next game comes it's always a important game who's the team that who goes on the run to Cup.
We hate each other and we wouldn't have it any other way 💙💚💙💚
Too bad nobody outside your yuppie bubble even cares the MLS exists
If you look at the Western Conference standings right now, both teams are tied for first. Highest level rivalry
Fun fact: Tony Betts is the uncle of Christine Sinclair, the best Canadian soccer player ever, Portland Thorns captain, and holder of the international career goals scored record. ❤️
Not true. Christine Sinclair is the niece of Brian and Bruce Gant who played for PTFC in the 70s. Betts is not related.
Nobody else in your yuppie bubble cares that the MLS even exist in the Pacific Northwest it’s actually kind of evident to help insular your culture is to think that
Portlands greatest moments are eliminating us.
Seattle's greatest moments are winning Champions League
LAFC is actually a continuation of the old franchise in LA, Chivas USA.
react to toronto fc vs montreal
Go Sounders
React to red bulls vs nycfc
Lets be honest, every one watching this is from portland or seattle
Most MLS Rivalries are young the league is only 25 years old... soccer overall is still a niche sport in the US none of the AmericN Players are well known in the Us. Well a few of the women's players but not really
I'm in this video! Don't apologize for reacting to American football. And my offer stands: Become a Seattle Sounders FC supporter and I'll be shipping you your choice of official kit!! #EBFG (Eternal Blue, Forever Green)! Go Sounders, Go! Fight Sounders Fight! And the Entire World Will Tremble At Your Might!
I recommend checking out El Traffico and Hell is Real Derby
Now that FCC is in the MLS one of my favorite things is that Hell Is Real trends on twitter every time they play the Crew. I love seeing the tweets from people who have no clue about the Ohio soccer rivalry or Ohio billboards
Little geography lesson-technically Mexico is in North America, hence Portland-Seattle is likely not the greatest rivalry in North America…
You should watch a video from the "Making the Case" series by Clayton Crowley, it discusses who the GOAT of basketball is and will teach you a lot about the history of the league's best players
if you post American soccer content I will watch it
This video’s a few years old, coach Porter left in 2018 and we’ve had a (IMO better) coach since then.
6-2😂😂😂
Yay Alphonso Davies get a second of shine.
Could you react to SB Nation/Secret Base's Beef History on the Detroit Red Wings vs. the Colorado Avalanch? It'd be cool to get a reaction to hockey rivalries.
San Jose and galaxy has an interesting rivalry but the creation of lafc kind of put that on the back burner
You should do Toronto montreal
Seattle most losses in MLS Cup amongst Cascadia teams.
Feels bad man
13:20 Florida is Purple
More MLS please
I thought you were gonna react to the Haters Guide to the Stanley Cup finals, but I was sad when you didn't
you gotta react to the Union vs Red Bull
Play off game
City rivalries tend to go beyond on sport. Like Philadelphia/New York...I have been to games between those cities and no matter what sport. The fans make it the spectacle. Unlike the UK they don't separate the fans. There are always fights starting in the stands.
You should react to the other MLS rivalries!!
If you ever want to do another MLS reaction, check out this video about one of the best playoff games in league history (Earthquakes v. Galaxy from 2003): czcams.com/video/DBLlNUNJ7iM/video.html
PT FC
Seattle now has 2 MLS Cups, and have scored more goals in Championship matches than Portland. Portland sucks. Portscum.
Toronto vs Montreal
React to Christian Pulisic or Atlanta United fans they have the biggest fanbase in MLS
Soccer is a big youth sport here in the US, and ranks pretty high for a sport that girls get involved in. But for some reason, it just doesn't carry over into adulthood. The only time it keeps my interest, is during the World Cup, or Olympics. Give us a proper introduction to the sport Luka.
For years there was no pro league to play in so there was no future for soccer. And even with 4 professional leagues today in the country, many people still don't know of any.
It's a rich kid's sport in the US unlike the rest of the world. Basketball is the US version of the everyday sport where all you need is a ball and anyone can play.
No, now is different and soccer is the most popular sports in the us
@@RionAgrias No, now is different, and soccer is the most popular sports in the us
Please reaction to more mls stuff
More MLS!
More MLS videos
Thorns thorns thorns thorns
Anothet fun fact: Seatle has NEVER beat Portland in the playoffs, and Portland has knocked them out more than once. #RCTID
Seattle 2 cups, portscum 1 cup. Enough said!
Do the NY rivals
The greatest rivalry in North America is America vs Chivas (MEX) 😂😂😂nothing will touch that
Tip: it’s not “the MLS”. You wouldn’t say “The Major League Soccer”. :)
YAY MLS
I hate Sounders I love my Timbers and both teams are top of the West right now lol
As a Timbers fan. We’re better not even touchable. Love it fam. Chara for mvp.
I mean who has more cups?
The modern watch parenthetically listen because beautician formerly deceive anenst a painstaking virgo. sad, tired keyboarding
The amount of soy in this video is overwhelming.
What is that supposed to mean? If you don't enjoy soccer/football, why bother commenting?
@@coyotelong4349 I do, but the fans are something else. You can't deny that soccer fans in the US are of a different breed than soccer fans in England, for example. They have more in common with American football fans.
@@bsabres0607 This is horseshit. Seattle Soccer supporters are heads and shoulders better than any NFL team.
The Sounders play in the Seahawks stadium, and they don’t even open the upper bowl of the stadium because they can’t sell enough tickets to fill it out. The Seahawks have sold out the stadium every week since 2001. Just to give you a gauge on how little people care about soccer around here.
I wouldn’t say it’s the lack of interest of soccer, it’s just that football is way bigger. Most European soccer stadiums aren’t even as big as NFL stadiums and can have capacities that are comparable to the MLS.
Leo M there’s a lack of interest here BECAUSE football is so big, it’s a direct correlation if you ask me. And I’m only speaking for seattle where I live
Evergreen yea but the two aren’t mutually exclusive, you can still support both sports/ teams. It’s just a lot more people enjoy football because that’s what they’ve been raised watching and playing.
They did break the stadium attendence record for the 2019 MLS Cup
SeahawkMariners12 because they opened the seats they usually have closed....
