What a difficult way to live.
Scripture holds many passages that can comfort us when we worry about whether we belong to God. I encourage you to look for the truth in God's word.
The Bible tells us that if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that God raised him from the dead, we will be saved. (Romans 10: 9+10)
It describes to us the process of sanctification, and the fruits of the Spirit, so that we can look for the proof of God transforming us, day by day.
And it often describes the stark contrast between the reactions of the lost and the reactions of the saved to God's truth:
1 Corinthians 1:18, ESV: For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
Finally, God promises to stay with his children:
"And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified."
Romans 8:30
It is true that I cannot look at a person and say "You are saved" or "You are not saved.". But you can look in your heart and see whether you believe, and faith is the hand by which we take hold of God's gift of grace:
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God"
Ephesians 2:8

To Charles Stanley:
I get upset listing to your sermons because you leave so much of God word out telling people all they have to do is let Christ into their heart. The message you are giving people is leading them to the wide gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction. You are refusing to preach all of the word of God which tells us there is a little more to it than just believing in God and Christ. The Devil believes and knows for sure God and Christ are real but he want be saved. All through the Bible we are told to be baptized for the remission of our sins, Jesus Christ was even baptized and received the Holy Ghost from the Father which came from Heaved in the form of a dove and landed on Christ. Christ Church is not a building, it is his Body which is made up of Christians that have believed and obeyed the word of God by being Baptized into the Body of Christ. (Ephes 1/22-23). We could worship in a corn field, all building will be destroyed. You refuse to preach what Jesus Christ said written in Red (Matt.28/19-20) (Mark.16/15-16) and (John 3/5-6-7). (1st.Peter 3/20-21) tells us only 8 souls were saved by water the last time the world was destroyed by a flood and (likewise) even today we are saved by (Baptism.) However you want to mislead people telling them all they have to do is believe and open their heart and let Christ in. there is a little more to being saved than just (Believing), we have to obey all of God word, not just the verses we want too. I hate to tell you but we don’t have the power to leave out Gods word and preach a different Gospel. We are sinners until we have obeyed the word of God by being baptized into the Body of Christ. God does not hear a sinners prayer (John 9/31). The word of God also says,”If an Angel or anyone preaches any other Gospel than I have preached let them be Accursed. (Gal.1/8). You are leading people away from Christ by not believing the word of God and preaching the truth. The Bible tells us we are Baptized into Christ, it is the way we enter Jesus Christ. We can't get to God unless we are Baptized into Christ first. (1st.Cor.12/13). We must be born again by water and the Spirit (John 3/5). I would like to ask you a question: Have you been Born again of Water and the Spirit. Remember the Water is baptism and the Spirit is the word of God. Were you baptized to become a member of a building at a curtain location or for the Remission of your sins? There is only One baptism that Christ talks about and it is for the Remission of your sins and you are baptized into the Body of Christ.
