- Catherine Wheel featuring Tanya Donelly, playing Judy Staring At The Sun. According to someone at the Tanya Donelly message board, the video was recorded at the Irving Plaza, NYC, around 1996. For some reason the sound was replaced by the studio version of the song. Enjoy anyway.

I got into these guys back in 2013, the year after I fell in/out of love. Their music helped to heal me and start a new chapter in my life.

Two of the very best acts of that era. Wonderful real music with meaning, I used to wander around with this song in my lips, mesmerized by its beauty and sadness.

I saw Catherine Wheel on the same bill as Tanya in Buffalo, NY but they never teamed up that day. Separately I saw Belly and they were solid.

That said, this video rules far, far more than the absolutely nothing like it that was ever available publicly before it. What a blessing to have stumbled into such awesometh in the year 2013.

@@rjvanderwoud Is it possible that Tanya's part of the original live recording was not that strong? I've seen several videos of her live and she's all over the place. The studio/video of this song is great, but I think they heavily manipulated her voice during production.
FWIW... Not a Tanya Donelly hater. She's fantastic in anything done with Belly and Throwing Muses. Wish I could have been around the Newport RI scene about the time she and Kristin were playing local venues.

Sorry, but no way in hell. Starts live but after the first pre-strum it's all over and back to the studio demo version, which you can listen and compare. So I suppose you might as well enjoy the demo video too, which is very nice.

I saw this tour. Unfortunately Tanya Donelly sounded awful when she came out and sang. Out of tune and scream-y. I can see why they did this.
As much as I love Tanya and have seen her live a couple times now, she does that live unfortunately at times.

I've seen Belly 3 or 4 times, she's always on so don't know which shows you've seen.
