In a band with four different lead singers, Rick’s voice was always my favorite.
Same
RIP Rick and Syd
holy shit even that close to his death ricks voice was fantastic
Nick looks so happy to play the old stuff again
Rick getting to solo is the best part about this. The final stand of Pink Floyd III.
Wow! I always knew Rick was part of the vocals on this song but never realized that he carried that much of the lead. Through all the versions from the original to the live in gdansk when David Bowie sung with him, which might be my favorite version, to this one, Rick really is the predominate driving vocal. To see this version with Nick involved is a priceless gem
FINALLY SOMEONES UPLOADING THE LATER YEARS CONTENT! Thank you!
You can see the happy faces when they play syd's song, its so poetic and beautiful
Going Blank Again always reminded me of the Dark Side of the Moon. and now i find this video! what a beautiful coincidence that Andy played with Floyd
Thank you so much for putting this up. The final appearance of Pink Floyd version 3. They all seemed so happy to get up there and pay tribute to the man who started it all. It’s a shame Roger was there and didn’t end up performing with them.
I know this moment deserves a Full Reunion it was for the guy who started all
@Molloo3 He had to go to the airport to pick up his (now ex-)fiancee.
I never got to see this till now. I'm so blown. I'm mad for Syd. So glad it's in the official record. (Wish upon a star that there was more with all my heart!)!
yeah ! I was there with me mate Hedge. We blagged guesr list and backstage passes.
I find it rather fitting that their last performance was their first song that they released. Pretty cool. I just wish the mix wasnt so weak.
your comment is the weak thing here
its not the mix that weak, its the performance... That's how a 63 years old drummer that didn't play for a while sound like...
Why nobody thought about tribute concert for Rick Wright
He died quite a while ago, plus David and roger aren’t on good terms
@@user-saladin Yes to do Live 8 Roger had to ask Bob Geldof for David's phone number to ring him to ask if he would be prepared to play. I surprised Richard also said yes after being sacked out of his own band.
In fact if you watch the Live 8 show, you can see that they forgot to mention to the camera crew that Richard wasn't just a session musician so he wasn't filmed much at all.
@@Loudon70 Rick, Nick and David were always good friends with each other so it’s no surprised that they all said yes if Roger was down.
Record Store Day 2020 🔥
This gives me goosebumps, love to see this
Nice work Rick
Rick ❤️
Now they are releasing this performance as a single!...
check the description of this video. I put a link to download the flac audio of this performance ripped directly from the blu ray in the the Later Years box set
I’m going to spend every waking moment on the 18th searching for the single! I got last year’s saucerful of secrets mono remaster for record store day and I absolutely love it
It's too bad they didn't include anything from Cowdray Ruins 1993, the benefit concert they did there, and in Gilmour's 50th Birthday in 1996, where they did 2 songs. All these things were filmed too.
Richard was a wonderful example of a human
Thank you for putting this up here. But I'm wondering if you have listened to the vinyl pressing of this performance included in The Later Years boxset. Is the mix for the vinyl pressing different and improved over the audio mix for this video?
I have the box set but I don't have a record player, so I have not
@@ryanmartin456 In case you're interested, Mundo Analogo posted an analogue to digital playback of a copy of the Record Store Day re-issue of the vinyl single version of this performance here: czcams.com/video/Sn2c65bjh0M/video.html
I hear some differences to the mix. On the vinyl pressing mix, the instruments's sounds are distributed across the stereo spectrum a bit more than the pointedness of them on the The Later Years video's audio, and there is a bit more clarity and gain in the guitar and the keyboards, and the vocals are a little more harmonized. But these are only minor enhancements compared to The Later Years video mix. I bought a copy of the Record Store Day vinyl issue, too, primarily to "legitimize" my adding your shared file to my collection. But I will leave it sealed. I don't have a working turntable either.
@@david_shannon I'll check that out thanks
Andy Bell (Ride / Oasis) on bass?!?!?!!??!
Hi! I don't want to bother you, but it is possible that you sent me the original file you ripped from Delicate Sound of Thunder? Thank you in advance!
The file is 32 gigs. I can’t do it. Just wait for a torrent
@@ryanmartin456 Totally understandable. Thanks anyway!
and the ol´farfisa organ
Hello Ryan, what a wonderful post!! one of the "Exclusive" pieces not available for us fans who can`t afford the boxset. Even worst on the Early Years, the Continu/ation volume has material only for people who paid the very expensive price of that one.
I`d like to ask you, if you be kind enough to post Baby Blue shuffle in D mayor from that continua/tion volume, since it`s the best sounding version I`ve been after ever since it came out. Is it possible?
Diego.
This video is from the Later Years box set. I don’t have the Early Years box set
Who's on bass?
Andy Bell from Oasis
🙂👍
@@davidrawzen8232 From Oasis AND Ride !!!
Is this Rick's last performance?
Sorry but who is the guy playing keyboards?
Jon Carin. Has been playing with Pink Floyd/David Gilmour since 1987. He's been touring with Waters as well.
Molloo3 yeah and he may or may not have, ya know... worked with syd, nick, roger & dave just a few times... im not sure tho. He looks alot like the dude from the cover on piper at the gates of dawn.
weak mix
No dislikes, poser don't know this video exists.
Wright doesn’t even know lyrics, my god, never even heard what Barret had to write
