In fact, if the torque is exceeded, the spark plug can be damaged, with serious consequences for the engine.
However, the right tool is not only important when tightening the spark plug, but also when removing the old one and inserting the new one, you can make a lot of mistakes. Bosch recommends using a magnetic or rubberized socket and extension for this purpose, which prevents the spark plug from falling into the shaft and possibly being damaged.
Cleanliness when changing spark plugs is also important to avoid contamination of the combustion chamber.
The specified replacement intervals of the vehicle manufacturers must be observed, as spark plugs wear out over time, which can be easily recognized by the burn-off of the electrodes.
