  • The Ocicat isn’t wild at all - he’s the result of crosses of Abyssinians, Siamese and American Shorthairs - but his spots lend him an exotic air that is difficult to resist. He's generally self-confident, talkative and highly active. Learn more at www.vetstreet.c....

TRUE 😂 This kitten has purebred Siamese adult companions he terrorizes. He is also a snuggling big baby.

He looks so angry being held and showed off like a rock collection. I would be too bud.

ALL cats are "perpetual two-year-olds". Sometimes the really smart ones escalate to three-year-old status. This is not necessarily a good thing. :-)

Hi All, I'm looking at getting an Ocicat kitten...I'm curious as to if they're "lap cats"? Also, can than be left alone (I'm single, have no other pets, and work 4 days/week). Thx!!

My Ocicat comes to lap daily, more often now than when he was younger. But Siamese gets jealouse and wants to join. Then there is too much weight and Ocicat jumps off. Siamese is much lighter on lap, but after all, both are real nice cats. Oci likes to sleep alone more often but when it comes to lap it's real nice. And when Siamese is sleeping somewhere and don't realise :)

No. These cats don't want to be left alone. I would recommend getting 2 cats. The best option would be siblings, but if not another cat with a similar activity level.

don't you think a poor cat from the shelter is more in need of your strange breeding will?? a sad German host of two cats from a sheltee (one 17 and the other 3) 🤔

I have two cats, one is an ocicat. They are not shelter cats. They are strays! The ocicat looked like a lost pet and had been lost for 2 months. He was about 4 months old. The other was a little feral black cat whose papa had orange eyes! But my boy has green eyes... beautiful and lovely, both of them.

don't you think owners can decide if they want from a breeder or a shelter?

Honestly, I’d rather adopt from a responsible breeder, that I can research, than to go to a shelter and pay a fairly high price for an unknown mixed stray kitten or one from an irresponsible cat owner. Why reward such behavior?

I got lucky because I adopted two baby Ocicats from the shelter. They wouldn't let me get one. I HAD to buy both. They were brother and sister. They're affectionate and beautiful.
