While I agree that blame falls on both sides, ultimately penalizing you was unfair. you had DC'ed from the match with the banned perk combo and restarted with a new build. The host, however, kept going between deducting 1 point and 2 points on their stream.

    I think it's fair to say the blame can be split, but honestly I think it should he weighed more heavily towards the mod who approved the loadout. After all, they're part of the tournament organisation that made these rules. Aaron shouldn't be penalised because the mod failed to do their job properly.
    Sure, you can argue that Aaron also failed to read the rules, but isn't that what he sent the loadout to the mod for? To verify it in case he missed something? Aaron is only a participant of the tournament. In my opinion, a member of the organisation team making this mistake is a much bigger deal as again, it's them who made the rules to begin with and it's their job to make sure they aren't broken, not Aaron's.

    I'ma be real. As someone whose hosted tournaments with friends/school in video game clubs, if things get checked by the Moderators and slip by them, it's always on the mods, more like a 75/25 split. This tournament while fun to watch was a little crazy with the ruleset that made little to no sense. Seriously, First pallet HAS to be shack? No healing before first gen? How about we just PLAY DBD AS INTENDED WITH PERK LIMITS AND ANTI-TUNNELING/CAMPING RULES. Why do tournaments have to make things so convoluted. While yes you did break the rules accidentally, it's an even bigger fault of the moderator, someone who should be enforcing the rules to not catch that.

    Wait so, you got deducted points from their mistake? Like sure you made a mistake too, but instead of going "oh okay, lets just reset points on all sides" they kept the other team's points? Or did I misunderstand? Because if you got penalized for them clearing you and not correcting your mistake at that point AND slapping you with a point penalty and not going for a clean slate, that's a bit on the "yikes" side.

    I enjoyed the event and was glad that you were having fun. But even if both sides are at fault, they are more at fault than you. I agree that you probably should've read the rules a bit more, but its a mod's job to make sure that all participants are following them. You didn't read the banned perk combos. That mod should've responded with no and told you that you had a banned perk combo and to remove it. But yeah, the major problem was the amount of rules this event had 💀

  • @itspaigeyy

    I’ve seen things like this happen in other DBD tournaments and it sucks. Moderators should know, yes you should have read the rules in their whole entirety. Thats on you but you acknowledged that, the moderator is there to make sure everything is correct prior the match/game starting.
    It’s really shitty this happened and I’m so sorry you had to deal with this.
    I hope it doesn’t stop you from wanting to participate in more tournaments though.
    I feel like these tournaments really need to check their rules. Sometimes less is more if they’re proper thought out rules instead of an insane amount.

    I did a tournament before and when we messed up they allowed us to reset without penalty. Since you got an approval from the moderator and gave it the okay, your team should have not lost any points from it. Even though you messed up, that's the moderator job to make sure the rules are followed. So, for them to punish you isn't fair or right.

  • @Justlov4
    @Justlov4 Před rokem +1

    Oooo that is a bummer. Something similar happened in a tournament I was in. Not Fidgets. My killer basically got 2k before we were asked to reset. After reset he got 0 and was so upset. I've played in a fidget tourney before and i love his many rules so there are no mistakes with certain things like tunneling. But there definitely needs to be a rule in any tourney that if something like this happens and there needs to be a reset then some points should still carry over. Not only are you giving the opposing team a second chance to correct weak points but also the killer losing the surprise of which killer is being used and asking to recreate what was done in the first match which isnt fair. Even if it is calculating the points in the match before reset and giving you partial credit. At least a lot of money was raised for charity ❤

    I tip my hat off to you because if that happened to me I would have lost it. Not like do anything but I would have needed to just sit out for a good hour or so. I understand that responsibility falls on all parties involved but the entire point of the mods checking your build was to make sure you didn't go in with a banned combo. Instead of deducting points and making you restart with no planning they should have not counted that match allow both teams to re-plan for about 30 mins as another match goes on and part of the payment for you was simply letting the other team know one of your perks before the game starts.
    I'm happy that everyone was in good spirits and it didn't really effect you all that much but it still frustrates me just a little that the payment for you is restarting with no prep time and auto down by two points while the mods didn't really have to pay anything but an, "oops my bad."

    This was 100% the mods. If anything once the error was caught the match should have been restarted, with NO points cut out as it was the Mods that CLEARED it in the first place, you would have just restarted as if the last game didn't happen. The mods need to own up to their error, not punish you for a mistake. That is why you give them a shot of your build, so THEY can make sure YOU don't use anything your not meant to, rather intentionally or by mistake.

    Well, this stinks. I understand both sides are to blame, but in all honesty, the moderators were very irresponsible as well. They are the ones that organized the tournament and the rules, so they have to be very attentive to what the participants are doing to make sure that everything goes fine. However, this didn't happen this time and it was really despicable of them, honestly. They could've taken their time to read the rules and look at the build to make sure that everything is fine. They could've taken as long as they wanted to check everything! Did they just look at the rules and the build quickly and didn't notice a thing?! If so, then they should do this if they can concentrate on things easily. Hope they learn from their mistakes. And so do you, Aaron, since you didn't read the rules as well. Then again, there are quite a lot of rules, so it sure seems pressuring and tiring to read through everything, huh?

Furthermore a mistake such as that on the mods behalf shouldnt negatively effect you, nor should it make you restart the match. Only to then place multiple limitstions upon you. This was a charity event, for the gamers to have fun and help people. Who is having fun playing with such drastic limitations? And rules to keep track of. Also instead of saying "lol that sucks, restart at -2" they couldve said: "Hey you cannot hook on scourge hooks, or something that adds depth and challenge to the event.
