I'm not a sports guy, but everything MatPat said regarding the psychology around this topic made me think back on things like Comic Con and Anime conventions. The creativity in people's costumes along with the positive feedback and feeling like a part of the group, the admirers wanting selfies, a lot of it still applies. I'm always in awe from the dedication and craftsmanship on display!

It is so interesting that these hats fit perfectly into what is happening with fashion rn. The trends rn are towards oversized pieces and less gender-expressive clothing. It’s gonna be really interesting to see how far these trends go before we all have to paint on our skinny jeans again.
Meanwhile I'll still be rocking cargo pants or shorts with a T-Shirt or if I'm feeling a bit fancy a Polo.
I wear decora kei and lolita and ouji fashion and just generally alternative fashion. It definitely DOES get A LOT of attention. It's even funnier when I forget what I'm wearing. More than anything, it's fun, and it's a way to express myself when I otherwise struggle, but it definitely gives me a boost in much needed dopamine and confidence. But even without going out, it just makes me happy to wear. It's just a way for me to actually begin to see ME in the mirror and not some stranger staring dead eyed back at me.
can confirm the white coat effect 100% - when i wear a fluffy dress, my whole posture changes, and i move my limbs differently. i just feel elegant and cute !! and i adjust my behavior to match.
Same, I usually wear jeans and hoodies but thanks to wearing a blazer with a dress the other day. It helped a fair amount leading me to win 1st place at a technical theater competition.

as an autistic guy, the concept of hive mind in sports or anything has always been so foreign to me. even as a huge music lover, at concerts i stand to the side to observe. joining in feels overwhelming, unnecessary and disingenuous.

Theory ideas: Deodorants/ anti-perspirants. I have heard that you should only use deodorants without anti perspirants but the (very limited) I have done doesn’t really support it. What is best to wear? How often should you reapply? Does body type matter? Also, a lot of my friends use men’s or unisex deodorant because they feel women’s aren’t as strong. True or false? I feel there are several directions you could take an episode on deodorants.
Perfumes or colognes could be a cool episode too but I am not sure what the theory would be.

See and it's funny you say that because just the other day I realized why I, as a female, prefer men's deodorant. It's because it makes me feel more way more confident. But I couldn't for the life of me tell you why.

This is actually really interesting because I just discovered my boyfriend like women’s deodorant because of the scent then later on I discovered my sister’s fiancé also prefers women’s anti-perspirants because in his opinion, it’s helped much more than men’s

@@soyboydj6875 there has to be one! The way fursuits have advanced & fursuit makers also making other props & clothes lead to a huge boom in America for the cosplay market before 2010. We owe a large part of the cosplaying community we have now to what nerdy fursuit makers did for us on commissions alone. Then after making things for others they started making it for themselves pushing it further. Then cosplaying models became more of a thing leading to another boom in costumes with very detailed & accurate cosplays. Eventually leading us to where we are today in the cosplay scene. I can't wait for them to talk about how cosplayers with little to no budget makes better costumes than high budget movies.

At first I was skeptical about Style Theory, but now I gotta say I really love it.
And that is why I love wearing big, beautiful, elaborate costumes to conventions. You feel beautiful, you feel like a character, you get attention. I absolutely love it!

6:50 Went to a Rammstein concert a few months ago, couldn't understand a single word the were singing but when Du Hast came on EVERYONE knew the chorus. Screaming "Du...Du Hast... Du hast mech" with a football stadium full of die hard fans brought a level of cohesion I've never experienced. The singer didn't even have to sing and I still understood what the crowd was saying.

You can also put your backpack in the front and have more control of the dripping on the rim of the umbrella that way.

I’m in the NC Special Olympics and I’m (among other things) sensitive to noise and I hate the opening centuries because there SO LOUD. But this examples a lot about why NC Special Olympics opening century are so loud, they don’t consider that fact that pumping up the crowd is a bad thing because they want everyone to feel important so they do things like make feel like a rave and and have a drum line.
It's really ironic for the Special Olympics opening ceremony to be really loud, since the athletes participating are disabled and a significant amount of them might be noise sensitive. I would imagine that they would adapt the event in order to accommodate their athletes, but noooo, they have to hype everything up
As a cosplayer, I've always thought this was a no-brainer, but it's interesting to see it addressed. It's a fandom, and the same way I'd dress as my favorite character at a con to show my love for it and find others who appreciate it, sports fans do the same-- just usually without the hours of handcrafting lol

Is it actually possible to make a parachute with clothes?
I’m pretty sure that’s a no because I heard a story of a guy In France who jumped off the Eiffel Tower with a parachute out of clothes but sadly died because the clothes did not act like a parachute because of how many holes are in clothing because you need to put the clothes on. Overall I doubt a parachute out of clothes would work.

love the style vids when I first herd of a "style theory" i though this was going to be a drop but I actually love these
seeing the upside down dress reminded me about how a while back there were a couple youtubers that dressed up on if their friends for the london fashion week and then later one in france, and how they had sideways clothing, then a few months later, it suddenly started showing up on those kinds of runway shows. There was another instance where they used “fragile” tape on all the clothes and then suddenly online stores had clothes similar. Would a theory about the fashion industry’s plagiarism or if they even do plagiarize be in the works? it’d be interesting to see something like that.
