Your video is wonderful ~ especially the section showing/hearing the blades ‘Air-Slicing’ Motion! Beyond practicalities [& they’re covered quite well - Thank You Very Much], the Sword’s Beauty, practically & visually, are impressive. Having now watched your review - from opening till closing - I have to say I’m a Solid Believer in this Sword and it’s so obvious WORTH, even and specifically at it’s ‘Price Point!’ Thank YOU, Sir,

Do you regard this model as a "functional cutting friendly" sword? Have you tried it out? What models do you have?

I have this sword. What I love about this is how wicked fast this blade is, compared to how big is seems to be. It just does not act like a big sword. I have an arming sword and this sword is almost as nimble as that in one hand. The balance is great. The sharpness, out of the box, was also very good. I have had the sword for two and a half years and done a lot of cutting with it. While I think XVIIIc blades cut better over all, this does not do a bad job. On a practical note, you need space to move this sword about , its 50" long. I have recently sent it back to DSA to have it regripped. I wanted a waisted grip. DSA was outstanding in their service to do this. It came with the scabbard and the DSA scabbards are not cheaply made like Ronin Katana for instance. I have made scabbards for my swords and I have been wanting to make a new one for this sword too. I would like to base it on the scabbard on the tomb effigy at Canterbury. Of course not even the sword that this is based on is actually the Black Prince's sword. It does not match the hilt design on the effigy. And the sword that is claimed to be belonging to the Prince has no real provenance to back the claim up, only some highly dubious speculation.

Thank you for the feed back. This model tends to be one of the more favorable models DSA puts out there. Thank you for the input ... always valued and appreciated.

it seems of all of Darksword Armory's models ... this one is almost universally postively reviewed. I found it a very well done model myself even amongst DSA sword which I tend to like already. If you get it ... let us all know what you think of it. More input is always welcome.

Another great review. I wonder why DSA went from 33/34 inch blades on their earlier Black Prince versions, all the way to 39 inches on their current model. You would think somwehere in the 36 inch ball park, but it seems from your video that the model turned out well cutting and handling wise

This basic design ... The Black Prince ... has MANY incarnations. i actually looked at one of the other ones done by Legacy Arms. As you mentioned ... even DSA has gone through several iterations. All i know ... even amongst those that are BIG DSA ne sayers ... this current version of this design is virtually universally agreed upon as a good model.

@@mr.excalibur1455 DSA have come out with some really great designs in the late medieval bastard/longsword type models. Their recent type XVIIIb Medici longsword looks like another winner.
