I honestly don't understand why joji felt ashamed of this album.Such a masterpiece for an indie genre.
he didnt feel ashamed he could just never monitize the unlicensed samples
@@RealityBoat I think the sample work on this album and is what sets it well above the rest of his music.
also because some of his shitty FitlhyFrank fans shitted on this back in the day and wanted him to keep doing the FF stuff instead of music completely

Back when I was a freshman, when I first found out he made these romantic DIY songs. 2016 was really an era. When he kept his musical talents in the closet, and still uploaded as Frank. When he still hung out with Ian and Max. It was a special time, watching him grow- awaiting an inevitable big-break to fame. Happy to see where he went, just really really miss this sound. All his producers were amazing, especially Shamana.
i was listening to shamana’s album the other day and was blown away, I wish those 2 would make something again
I'd give anything for another video with Max and Ian. Doesn't have to be the crazy shit they used to do, just a video of them altogether again
I felt this hard as Fuck dude
Thought he produced all of his songs?
@@kafka315 he produced MOST, besidju was produced by shamana,
It was 3 years ago when my depression got worse. I didn't have any purpose to live aside from working a 9 to 5 job that has a minimum pay. And then I found Filthy Frank and Pink Guy.
I enjoyed watching their satire and offensive videos, helping my depression to ease up a bit. Weeks later, I met a girl who happened to be my sister's friend. Coincidentally, she, too, watches FF and enjoys it too. I never knew that I would meet someone with the same interest as me.
She then introduced Joji to me. I enjoyed his music. I can relate a lot from his songs about depression and heartaches. We would both hang out and listen to his songs at my apartment while chilling, and that's one of the best moments I've ever had.
A few more months later, we started dating. She's a fun gal. Caring, sweet, weird... almost the same quality as me. I loved it when she randomly pops up and annoy me during my worktime. She would buy me meals, take me out for a walk and even play games at her place. Our favorites wouldbe Thom and Slow Dancing in the Dark.
Until such time when we had a fight. It was that time when I got mad at something too soon that I never got to see the bigger picture. I was wrong. I was dumb. The next days, she didn't reply to my messages nor payed me visits like before.
Weeks, months... until a year later, and we still didn't have any communication. At first, I thought that maybe she's busy or have already moved on. That is until a word came from my sister.
She was hospitalized, bed-ridden for the past 8 months due to ovarian cancer. A chill came down my spine. I started to worry and told her to keep me updated in the future. I couldn't come to visit her. She may get mad or maybe I'll just cause problems if I were to go there. So I patiently waited for her recovery. She even told me that she already forgave me long ago, and she wishes to hang out with me again. We missed each other.
One cold night, I was out drinking with my friends, when my phone rang. It was my sister. I was laughing at the moment, but my sister was doing the complete opposite. I can hear her sniffle and whimper. She was crying. I asked her what's wrong, and my sister replied, "she's gone".
I felt a wild mix of emotions. I was pissed, sad and terribly depressed. She must've been joking, I said to myself. But unfortunately, my sister was telling the truth. She died, not from the cancer, but due to cardiac arrest during her operation.
It's really depressing because right before the operation, she told me that we should hang out soon enough. She also told me to keep the Pink Guy, Ballads 1, and Chloe Burbank albums and never to delete it. I hoped that things would be better. Fuck.
Our moments began to flashback as I walked back to my apartment. A mix of self-hatred and regret overwhelmed my chest. The rain started to pour, as I fucking screamed and cried at the middle of the park. I was not only depressed, but also suicidal from that point.
My worst regret is not attending her wake. I hated myself and my fucking boss who never gave me the permission. But as far as it is, I just feel depressed and I really want to die. I had several suicide attempts already. Some sent me to the hospital, some in jail, and some in mental wards. I got fired from my old job, and now I'm just a nobody clerk somewhere.
If you're reading this, please take care of your special someone. Please don't screw up like me. Keep safe.
fuckin hell man i hope your life improves that shit is heavy
Holy fuck man,,I wish u the best.It will sound cliche but better things will come
That really hurt to read man. I don’t even know who you are but if you made it this far i am sure you will get out of this situation and feel well again. Nobody deserves to live depressed or suicidal. All the best to you..
Keep moving forward, man. I'm sure she'd want it and I hope you find peace

Long live frank
I think Old Yeller is a pink guy song... like, when he was "working on another pink guy album" I think that's where Old Yeller came from. I mean, 'Misery' is literally the chorus for 'Fried Noodles'. So it makes sense.

-Chloe Burbank -> Lofi
-In Tounges -> R&B
-Ballads1-> More modernized, Pop/R&B
indie isn't a genre
Dr. Drinkling ah my b
they're really just all mixtures of genres. lo-fi, rnb, trap, indie, jazz etc. joji goes deep and makes every genre sound great
@@randomizderr4110 indie just means independently produced. That is why there is "indie insert any genre". The indie sound typically is just less produced, which some people like more than heavily produced music.
Probably the most interesting thing about joji is that all of those albums you stated have ways they sound different, but also quite a few ways they are alike
Lmao everyone actiing like Joji switched up after 88rising, like nah, it just less lofi sampling because he couldnt get the rights. He's got a label and its resources, he's gonna use them
He did switch up tho. His songs nowadays dont sound this good
@@SickVapeTricks not necessarily, they just sound very different.
well that’s literally something that changed/switched, the sampling here is gorgeous man
It's actually the opposite, a good portion of this album is samples from other artists, while his In Tongues and Ballads 1 albums were almost entirely, if not completely original content, correct me if I'm wrong.
@Gabu yea but the fact that he doesnf have verses and stuff like that in this album is what makes it good because it leaves you with an after effect of a nice empty feeling, also fuck you mean horribly looped
if the title of this video was "lofi hip hop radio - beats to relax/study to" I wouldn't even question it
I love how many people shares their life stories in these comments. George have a really mixed fanbase. One edgy assholes and the other depressed people that appreciate his art.
@@Handwritinghelp ah, so that explains why all of my normal classmates don't listen to him! lmao
You can feel the depression in his music. Even the new stuff has that vibe still. He's having fun, but you can tell he has or still hurts. We all fucking hurt, but occasionally someone translates that convoluted mess into art we can all understand and appreciate and that's exactly what he did and does
You wanna know why this worked though? His fan base literally being two sided? edge lords and actual fans?
It's because Filthy Frank stuff was always asserted by George that it's just a caricature. I think the way he handled the content and the caricature, and the constant character breaks that show us a more human side of Frank/Pink guy and Joji himself is what I think solidified his fanbase to having two sides.
I say this, because, you probably don't notice or care but, a lot of caricatures don't assert that personality and sentiment about themselves. It's like part of the troll, to troll more than just victims of their troll, but also the fanbase. Which I think is detrimental at times.
Psssssst they're the same people

The era in which I was introduced to indie music by my 2nd crush
The era in which Joji was less trap, less 88rising
The era in which filthyfrank still uploads
And the era where I start searching about who Chloe Burbank was.
Update (4 May 2023): Hi everyone ( *・∀・)ノ Wow, saw the analytics and saw that I posted this comment back in 8 October 2018. It's been so long huh. I don't mean to sound cheesy or cliché with the comment, but thank you for the 7.5k likes. Just wanna express about how much this album meant to me.
I went through high school listening to this masterpiece of a compilation, went through two heartbreaks over two different girls, and now, listening to it while going through my self-development phase (alongside other albums, of course, specifically Alina Baraz & Galimatias's "Urban Flora", Joe Pass's "Virtuoso #2", and Puma Blue's "Swum Baby"). This album helped me expand my musical tastes (and greater thanks to those who've found the samples of Joji's songs here), never thought I'd be a jazz enthusiast and music explorer because of a man who made me, and of course so many more, laugh so much with his shock-comedy, intense slapstick and vile waste of food.
About my heartbreak, I've been recuperating well, in fact it had prompted me to have a moment of contemplation, and pushed me to get out of my comfort zone and have some self-improvement.
I want to thank everyone who've read and replied to my 4 year old comment, and sorry if I never managed to find out who Chloe Burbank is; perhaps we will never know until someone personally asks Joji and posts his answer online. I'm always happy to see that this video will always gain likes and views, happy to know that there are more people with my musical tastes :))
I hope all of you are doing well. Well if you don't feel well, I'd like to share some of what my grandmother taught me (through my mother, and with my words):
If you ever feel down, or feel downed by life, be grateful to God, because I believe God loves you by testing you, and keep doing your best to overcome those hard times. Once you've passed that test, inshallah, you be rewarded with something good, and a bigger test that shall reward you with something much better, so and so. The point is, never give up, always be grateful, because you never know whether your hard times are a hidden blessing. May Allah bless all of you with strength, jazāk-allāhu khayran, salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah.

It kills me to see people who were hardcore FF fans shitting on Joji whether it be in the Chloe Burbank era or the NECTAR era. His music is beautiful all-around and so many people are stuck on his lo-fi, lowkey sound and meme music. The amount of production and the mastery of vocals in his modern stuff is amazing and it's disappointing to see so many of his "fans" shit on his new style.
Yeah
I was a big Filthy Frank fan and thought this album was good back in the day. Still think Chole Burbank and stuff from around this time is great. Even In Tongues is ok. But as it went on his music got more and more diluted. Of course part of it is Nostalgia, listening to this made me sad because it reminded me of older times. i don’t know if anyone will even come across this. i wish i could meet joji and let him know we all adore him. 3/29/20- sitting in quarantine with nothing to do but escape from the real world with music. i discovered joji at the ripe age of 7 because my brother would watch him on his channels and this was a time where a lot was going on at home. at the time i didn’t fully understand his humor since i was so young but over the years it’s one thing i treasure deeply. my brother and i would sit in one of our rooms and binge frank’s videos while my parents would be getting violent downstairs. it was his way of distracting me until the police would arrive. now age 14, with the world in a shittier position than i had anticipated, i find myself every single day listening to jojis music. any of it. and as much as everyone misses frank, if you actually support him, you’d appreciate the work passion and dedication he puts into his music and career. and if he doesn’t want his past brought up, we should all respect that. seeing george’s development as a human being sheds a new light on his music and the emotion he puts into it. for 7 years now, joji has been an escape from society for me. the first thing i do when i’m feeling anxious or upset: listen to joji. the music that plays in my ears for the majority of the school day while i have to see bullshit people: joji. i’m a pretty lonely person with no real friends, so i have a lot of time invested in music. but i truly connect with jojis art. not only does he has an awesome personality, he is hella attractive and i hope he realizes. i really should be doing in online school work now while i’m stuck in the house for who knows how long. we all love u joji please never stop making me smile:)
Edit: Chloe Burbank is the perfect album to listen to while rain is pouring and the lighting lights up your dark bedroom to reveal your cat snuggled up against you afraid of the thunder, then you let yourself detach from the world

It's weird, Joji is a great person with lots of passions, I truly respect him.

Parts of Chloe Burbank are far better than ballads 1
OcceanMan honestly he released the best tracks before the album even came out, “slow dancing in the dark”, “can’t get over you”, and “wanted u” are my favorites
KirbyKip251 I agree that he released all the best music before ballads dropped, I mean some cool sounds came out of ballads 1 and interesting prod. So I think if you took parts of ballads 1 and Chloe Burbank you’d get something really good
OcceanMan It's practice to drop the best songs as singles before the album
I think "slow dancing in the dark" is his best track yet, lyrically, artistically and instrumentally and is really a step forward in terms of his sound though that may just boil down to taste.

Upgrade from Nectar gives off some OG Chloe Burbank Vibes. So cool to hear Joji sticking to roots despite his massive success
yes that's why it's my most listened to Joji track on spotify, a majority of my listens are on soundcloud from that era of Joji of course.
Unpopular opinion in this comment section: I prefer Joji's music now than this.
I love both, but if I have to choose, I'm going with the music he's making now. Sure, they aren't all bangers, but they're so much more experimental than his lofi phase, and the experimentation is paying off. A lot of his stuff still isn't trap like some of y'all are claiming, idk why you think he's only releasing trap??
He's progressing more and more as an artist and I think that's awesome. These tracks are strictly tracks that you can really only relax to/have them in the background; focus completely on them and you'll get bored (though there are about 3 trap tracks here).
His songs are slowly becoming songs that you can actually sit down and listen to on their own (Slow Dancing in the Dark, No Fun, and Can't Get Over You) because of that style change.
I'm happy to see him grow, unlike a lot of people here who only like his lofi.
I hope he keeps it up and gets more comfortable in his style, whatever it may be, as an artist. I really would love to hear some more bangers out of him (looking at you, Slow Dancing in the Dark).
I like your take on Joji's music. You consider his newer stuff to be more "experimental" but I found it to be around equivalent in the realm of experimental material. I consider Joji's new stuff to be the material found on "In Tongues" and "BALLADS 1". and I can see the effort of him trying to experiment with vocal ranges, aesthetics, and essentially 'breaking out of his shell' and becoming less timid with the way he portrays himself as Joji. His newer stuff has all types of growth, it's pretty much testing out what does or doesn't work. But that's the thing, although it's nice to see him grow and develop as a musician (like he started off rapping about depraved things on youtube). It doesn't offer much for what in my opinion is 'good music'. When he hits, he really hits. Here are some examples:
Slow Dancing in the Dark - A masterpiece of Joji, the synths felt nostalgic yet displayed futuristic and modern audio, the structure of the song seems to flow well, and the mumble of his verse to the shouting of his chorus is just so amazing. It's like seeing all of his potential in his song. I believe that song is probably his best.
CAN'T GET OVER YOU - It's a cute song that can be bopped over and over. It's simplistic, it's fun, it's cute, and overall just cheery and practically the opposite of most of Joji's newer material.
yeah right - A song where the slobbery, slow, and mumbling voice benefits the song. It's vibe really match up with the whole theme of the song, being about partying your life away because of heartbreak. Although critiqued for being one of Joji's more boring songs, I think the effort that went into this (the grainy/nostalgic production, joji getting chubby for the music video, the mumble vocals, and overall song) is just a solid song.
Those are examples where I would consider Joji hits. When he misses in a song, he also misses hard. Test Drive was very boring and underwhelming, and the vocals sounded very weird, and kind of creates a bit of a disconnect with me and the song. Not to mention, it sounds like a Post Malone B-side or fan cover, and the vibe just sounds like it was a cash grab single. This also is a controversial thing to say, but the In Tongues EP was just boring. I felt like I wanted to go to sleep from the boredom of the music, not because it was successfully dreamy.
That was just on experimenting.
Joji was a pioneer of lo-fi, and incorporating R&B and chillhop elements into it. He may not have been the very first to have the idea of lo-fi, but when compared to the generic sadboi tracks, he's extremely good. Even though the tracks of lo-fi are just meant to be background and not much paid attention to, I usually find myself singing or enjoying the melody on my own. But, I will be fair, because some of the newer singles Joji has dropped have been memorable lyrical miracles (hah, reference.)
Joji's old stuff wasn't focusing on lyricism. That might sound bad, but, the beat is kind of the lead of melody, whilst the lyrics just strengthens that bond of vocal melody and the sound of the song. Joji's new stuff has some pretty garbage lyrics if I were to be completely honest. For proof, just interpret your own meaning for his newer songs, and then watch the genius explanations, there isn't much to be had. And if that's bad enough, there's pink guy lyrics deeper than that. Pink Guy's McDonalds rap brings a melancholy piano beat, and raps about the globalization and how the masses are dumbed down to the point where they willingly sacrifice their money, health, and morals for some "heaps of internal shitty meat". Rice Balls is another example of fine lyricism, it's just a freestyle calling out his fans for suddenly wanting joji after rejecting it, and shoehorning some standard pink guy shenanigans.
Another thing I'd like to discuss is his voice. Although it's starting to get better recently, Joji still tends to mumble his way through songs (although it's nowhere near as bad as somebody like Lil Xan). He lacks falsettos, adlibs, and that Joji style I fell in love with. Even the more inaudible vocal performances on his soundcloud days still beat most of the stuff from In Tongues.
I think your opinion is good, what you've brought to the table was positive and elaborate. What might not work for me works for you, and that's cool. It's just a case of differing tastes. Although I think Joji's highs nowadays are amazing, his soundcloud days had consistency and was a pioneer for an entire genre. But that's just what I think. You may have the opposite feelings. If you read this, thank you for getting to hear my opinion, and I hope you have a good day.
P.S. I know World$tar Money was on In Tongues, it's role as an interlude wasn't executed well though.
apologies for the word wall lol, I just wanted a bit of a discussion
People will never stop overpraising lo-fi because of its nostalgic sound and eerie vibe the genre generally has, makes them ignore that most lo-fi tracks are very low effort, bland, repetitive, and just overall bad. Bet a grand they wont like "lo-fi" music if it has no low fidelity/retro filter and just a hq piano with beat, 100%. The only lo-fi I can accept is Nujabes and producers in his circle. The rest are just Nujabes wannabes and hippie beatmakers.
[everyone disliked that.]
U DuMb??
I like this music a lot more than Joji's current music. But I still really like his newer music, but it feels like he's gone more mainstream, which I understand's got to happen, but I don't really like trap that much.
Edit: YO WAIT A FUCKIN MINUTE RAIN ON ME AIN'T HERE
Rain on me was after chloe burbank era, i think after 'i dont wanna waste my time'
No, i think post burbank music happened after rain on me, because the rest of his songs after rain on me is included "in tongues."
I made a documnetary detailing his rise in music. Good response so far but i have no joji fans who are friends... so check it out on my channel if you fancy. Its called Joji the genius you never knew
@@nyandesuka1169 yea agreed
Wouldn't really call it trap but its definitely more mainstream
joji best era for me personally
Same
Same, but what do you think about his new album?
for some reason I really do like the newer one
So you're listening to this because you havent studied for your finals, well good luck on your test. Change the world. Good night.
now i’m listening because i’m bored in quarantine 😔
im meant to be doing homework due tmr
Change da world. My final message. Goodbye
I get lazy airport jazz vibes from this.
I get the vibe that you don't own a Ford Focus ST. Pretty sad. I personally own a brand new 2016 focus ST
MoejoH?
@@TheWaffleBomb I KNOW RIGHT? These absolute losers not owning a Ford Focus ST, couldn't be me: a Ford Focus ST owner.
I don’t hate his newer stuff but I really prefer this
In the intro part Joji said this Japanese sentence "そういう感じで" which means "It sounds something like this", his voice when he speaks Japanese is so sexy T_____T
そ う い う 感 じ で no significa ' con sentido del humor ' ?
Just discovered this in 2022 and I'm just... speechless. Wish Joji can come back to doing this style of music that's all him. This is now gonna be my favorite playlist.
You just discovered this 15 hours ago? I wish I was you, then I’d be able to cry to this again.
i was listening to this before he became super huge in the music industry. Glad people are still finding this masterpiece of an album

Six! Seven! Fucking years! '15-'17 was the best time of my life, and this along with several other lo-fi based playlists were crucial in the creation of those beautiful memories.
Now that life just seems to get darker for every year that passes by, thank you Joji, Frank, for the good times. I'm glad I caught onto you. I will never repeat those days again.
Same man, the best times
People comparing this to his newer stuff don't understand the charm and beauty of Chloe Burbank
Sad that VA had theirs taken down, thank god I found this
Damn I thought I was the only person who knew about about VA
What's VA?
Variation arts they’re a channel that used to upload a lot of Joji content
Super disappointed he doesn't release more music like this these days. This stuff kicks ass.
I really like lost ballads as well as pretty boy, I think it kinda captures the bedroom vibe again
When 26:30 hits and you develop Parkinson's
holy shit frank lol
had no clue you were a joji fan my cheap tech connoisseur
this is so epic
What the fuck its my boy Frank
omg randomfrankp yay
Still his best project.
yes
I don't know why but I feel New York in this album so much, it's crazy.
Totally agree. Pretty sure Joji produced most (if not all) of this while he was studying in NY, so makes sense.
Declan McGhee Yeah, good on him for being able to put his audience in a distinguished setting to where I can feel physically there. Didn’t know how much was actually filmed there I’m just basing it off filthy frank timeline
eliana colon yeah. i love the lyrics that really give you a clear setting like in Thom when he says “I take the D-train to go to BK.” stuff like that that really gives you environment and grit.
Declan McGhee the real question is are you subscribed to pewdiepie
this is perfect for a rainy evening at home, reading an art book as i sip my favourite tea
yes

If you know you know
I still think this is joji’s best project
I don't really think so. It only has two tracks and I wouldn't put them over his other stuff
@@illcomebackforyou. worldstar money transitions into unsaved info with “i don’t wanna die” and worldstar money’s upload originally had chloe burbank in the description, also anna gold has 2 hidden uploads socialblade doesn’t say jt now but it used to be able to
Only after checking 1950's jazz I found out where Joji takes most of his inspiration from... Add beat to Miles Davis' - Blue in Green and boom, there's Thom!
Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, damn he's got amazing tastes.
I hear a lot about Thom in these comments is it Thom from Radiohead or????
Best and realest joji album
If you're 12
I was just chillin, being nostalgic. But, then medicine came on and the tears just started flowing. That song got me through a lot of rough times
I think all of us want to go back to 2017 don't we?
Miss these vibes

I don't do drugs and I'm not old enough to drink so when I feel like killing myself, I can't do anything but listening to George's music. Gosh damn that's some good ass music
I Used to listen this every morning when I was going to the School in the bus meanwhile I looking at the window and see the urban paradise of the city, It just was...Beautiful I really miss the real school, fuck covid.
Aw that sounds nice
nice pfp and name
There's so many people saying that his old music is better than the nower ones. Imo, he has been improving so much since In Tongues, and Ballads 1 its just a m a z i n g. Its not just a simple lofi sound anymore (like this and In Tongues, even tho i completely LOVE chloe burbank), its really well produced, you can really see his talent and skills. Its not a boring and kind of repetitive album like In Tongues, its almost an experience. The first time i listened to it, it was fun, i felt excited, happy but with sad vibes (if that makes sense). I was really into it and it was overall a great experience... untill R.I.P camed and trippie red ruined it jskskjf
I get it, everybody has different likes and opinions, even more when it comes to music, but i think George deserves more credit for his improvement and how him and his music changed for good.
//also, sorry if i spelled anything wrong, english is not my native lenguage oof//
Ballads1 doesnt have the appartment room aesthetic, but it shows that his music is really matured up, Id appreciate that he make a song that has the chloe burban aesthetic
The thing I like about this era of joji is how it isn't "well" produced. You can tell it's just a guy with garage band sampling some jazz and singing over it. It feels so cozy and intimate, while his 88rising stuff feels too over produced and cliché to me. To be honest, I can't really get into any of the songs on In Tongues and Ballads 1 at all. It feels like he's going into a more typical pop direction, which I'm really not into
Imo Nectar is gonna be the best thing Joji is gonna put out, I mean shit the first 3 singles were really good and really shows what joji can do as an artist
Anybody else got chills when it switched from Intro to Thom
Yeah lol
Me 2
But you suck Charlie to foie (bump)
i just wanna appreciate how much he’s grown as an artist, from Chloe Burbank to his single Run? he’s just so talented
I discovered this album 5 years ago in the summer before 9th grade. I was a huge fan of Filthy Frank and this showed me such a sensitive side of him. It felt like discovering some secret side of someone that refused to come out. I always kept wondering, 'who hurt you?'
I was so obsessed with Joji as a person and although I can't really say I enjoy his music all that much after this, I'm really happy for him and finally doing what he loves. I'm in university now and I'm coming back to this album. It's funny how we all grow sometimes.
Strange how people have similar experiences, Burbank era joji was the sound of my high school too ⚔️
omg me tooo!!!!
I miss this, listening to this really brings me back, flashing memories through my mind. Just like looking through an old photo book. I can’t explain the way George (joji) makes me feel, but it’s a good feeling. Even though he doesn’t know me I feel really connected to the artist which is really crazy to say
I remember listening to this in my lowest point in my life, but now I'm working towards college so life isn't so bad :)
My comfort album... I'm back once again
I miss you 🐢
Back listening to it again
Jesus I wasn't expecting xxx to hit that hard
i think this mightve been the album that forever changed my taste in music
Ive been looking for this, thanks for posting!
"The pitter patter gave a rather rinse and lather feeling" just made my night MAN that line on its own could carry the whole album for me
It's so good

i don't care what anyone says, this is Joji's best work hands down. His new stuff is way too trap/mumble. This has passion and rhythm, the piano instrumental is beautiful, so much more catchy.
SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK and no fun are the only songs I've liked so far
would have to agree, Slow Dancing in the Dark is his best new one imo
i really like slow dancing in the dark and cant get over u but i agree that this album is way better than his current work
I like his new shit, but I totally agree Chloe Burbank is his best work
Ballads1 is not trap/mumble smh
this whole album helping me get through life. Joji.

BANGER AFTER BANGER, instant nostalgia
fr this takes me back to the old days again doesnt feel different same as it ever was!
tbh I thank pre-88rising Joji, and bigger thanks to those who know of the samples, for encouraging me to expand my musical knowledge, especially in jazz. Never would I know of musicians like McCoy Tyner, Joe Pass, Thelonious Monk and Wes Montgomery had I not been a fan of Filthyfrank/Joji
yo this mad man sampled the charlie brown christmas song
This whole album is a masterpiece, I love the way you set up the transitions, it’s just beautiful!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I can't tell you how much of Influence that Chloe Burbank had on music taste today
This is my Christmas music.
You are literally the only person I could find that had Chloe Burbank with all the songs. Thank you so much
I just love how this just flows together so smoothly
this is an absolute gem, genius work
Listened to thom when i was 12 now i’m 20 lol life goes by fast…
As much as I love _BALLADS 1,_ this is a side of Joji I never got to see. I wasn't really into Joji until 2018, so I unfortunately missed _Chloe Burbank_ when it was coming out. But holy crud am I glad you uploaded it here. I've been going through and finding lost Joji songs and I'm loving them all. _In Chains_ is such a good album, I wish he'd stuck with that sound. But he's releasing a new song tomorrow, and I think it's going to be good.
Narrator: it was good
I honestly loved the whole transition and tug-of-war between pink guy and joji/frank...
It felt sad while it also laughed at sadness' face which in turn made the sadness feel pathetic and hopeless... It was such a great era of his work as an artist...
I absolutely loved the political incorrectness of pink guy and how it clashed with his own vulnerability, creating a self aware and self loathing monster
And then to see him redeemed with "monster" too ✨🤌🏻✨ *rat chef's kiss*
All his journey is honestly such an experience, I'm so glad I got to experience the whole thing while it occurred 👌🏻👌🏻
Also, I think you're talking about sanctuary... Aren't you?
If so, it absolutely was... Imo one of the best songs he's composed/sung
(Also, I can't help but notice slight homo romantic undertones in the song too, the character referencing spock very much helps that narrative)
This isn't an official release, just a fanmade compilation of random leaks. Thom and You Suck Charlie were the original two leaks from the alleged Chloe Burbank project from back around 2016 before he was doing things under Joji.
@@jedisponge16yeah, some of these tracks here came out of some old joji vlogs
Many tears have been shed to this albun
This makes me so happy to listen to again
The transition between each song is just so smooth
Listening to this tracks make me cry and think back to the good old days....
I'm so grateful for this album honestly, it got me through a wild, fever dream summer a few years ago. Thanks for uploading!
This stuff is fantastic. Some of his best work right here
Can we just appreciate how well this album is mixed and how good every song transitions well into eachother

i wont ever get enough of this, hugely inspirational
the amount of lofi in this sounds amazing. love u joji
