- 'There are still many World War 2 relics here!'
We traveled way up North to search with our metal detector for WW2 relics. Hooked up with some very nice Norwegian diggers dudes called Jan and Kim. They took me and my friend Ben to some of their best permissions and we did good. We found a range of very cool relics that the German army had left behind after or during World War 2. Treasures like medals, personal items and even a WW2 German license plate. Go check out the video and please go give them Norwegian diggers a follow on their Instagram:

FAQ:
-Do you report things found to the authorities?
Yes, all nasty things found like UXO's and finds that could be important from an archaeology perspective are reported to the local authorities.
-Do you sell finds?
I am a collector myself so I hardly sell relics. But if I do then I'll post it on the social media pages or think about becoming a Patron, because I'll share finds with my Patrons (check out the Patreon website for details).
-How do you gain permission for metal detecting?
Check out local laws regarding metal detecting and get permission from the landowner. Or hook up with a local metal detecting club in the area you would like to detect and get your information from them. (I stopped responding to questions like this all together, I'm not google..)
-Can I come with you?
No.
-Will you marry me?
No, lets just be friends.
-I want to see more!
Go check out the social media pages, or consider becoming a Patron! Patrons have access to much more, special videos, behind the scenes footage and WW2 goodie boxes containing relics me and my friends found over the years.

The Garrett Ace Apex with a bigger coil or the Garrett AT Max.

Go Pro 7 and a Sony handy cam
-Favourite find?
Deep Digger Dan's CZcams channel. GET IN!
-What is on your bucket list?
Hitler's lost gold or the missing gold train everybody is searching for. But until then I am happy with whatever pops up, I even enjoy finding landmines... :-s
Thank You for this trip, if it is next to Hammerfest my Grandpa died there, makes me sad... I've just found the letter he wrote to my Dad for his 12st birthday, a few days later he died... A place I will visit to show my respect...
The best find was the bracelet(->pocket watch chain) right? What do you think? Let me know in the comments!
I'd say it was a pocket watch chain. Classic rubbish pit you guys dug with all the usual types of finds. Those chess set and gaming pieces come from a gaming set given to soldiers as a Christmas present in 1944 by the German occupation authorities in Norway ie. Terboven and Co. , we find them all over the place. Regards, Norwegian digger of over 20 years.
It is definitely a pocket watch chain.
Yep, you are right! That is why I need you guys here. You are always a great help with determining the finds.
Thanks for your comments!
Daaaang. Very cool. Would love to get up to Norway at some point. Really liked that license plate. Great video!
Thanks JD! 😃 Appreciate you dropping by!
That 50 Penniä is from Finland actually (you can recognize from the lion) but it is strange to see it in Norway. Cool video!
Watching your videos before I go to work, I know it sounds weird but you have been a very big role model my great grandfather was an American soldier with the Thunderbird division during ww2 and just watching these pieces of historical evidence come to light after so many years intrigues me tremendously.
A true adventure with great discoveries! Thanks for taking us along buddy. Take care! - Chris, Metal Detecting WWII Battlegrounds
Thanks for dropping by Chris!
Brilliant Mike, great location, superb finds, stick with the Vikings as long as your stomach can hold out.
I'm surprised you don't have more subscribers, Mike. You always find a lot of cool stuff. I really wanted one of the glass mine tops you had but they were all gone. Enjoy your videos and much success in the future.
The bracelet is a really cool find. Super personal item. So are the gaming pieces, but the bracelet definitely has some stories and lifetimes behind it
it is a watch chaine
Great finds Mike and for me that number plate was definitely worth a massive oooooooooo 😀
Mike’s is by far my favorite relic hunting channel. 👍🏻🙂
amazing finds , i like the watch chain.
Me too! And that is why I need you guys here, to help me determining the finds :)
Thanks for watching.
Have to admit that every dig you do takes my breath away with the finds. I wonder if there is anywhere in the world you'd have on your bucket list to find WWII artifacts ?
thanks Nigel. This was one place that was high on my bucket list.Would love to metal detect on the Eastern front one day. Belarus or Russia would awesome to visit.
WOW, some incredible finds Mike and group. It's obvious that a lot of your finds so far have being around creature comfort items (well the best there could be for WW2 soldats, eh). I hope you feel like you need to explore more in this area as I think you find more fighting artifacts are you more closer to their front. A FANTASTIC and quite enjoyable video Mike... Be safe and be well and go forth and detect... a Canadian friend...
I watch these videos, everytime thinking I'd love to have a go at doing these digs. Spent today digging up old fence posts and I'm bloody knackered, I'll leave the digging to the experts 😴
Metal detecting requires endless patience. You only see the good finds here on CZcams. Trust me, I had my share of horrible days metal detecting.
So glad to see another post! I am always so eager for your adventures, great videography work as well!!
Hi Jonathan! Thanks for dropping by. I think I can do better on the camera work but maybe I'm just my own worst critic.
I got to do a battlefield tour here in 2018 before the plague. Absolutely beautiful place to visit.
Thank you iron mike i love what you are doing i wish i could be there thank you Ruben from south africa
Awesome finds man, I always look forward to your next video.
Thank you Doug! Appreciate you dropping by again.
Great finds there Mike! Nice! We also searching there in Norway.
Mike, remember the video you made on the POW camp in France and you found that dogtag? Hermann Wiesel, he was kriegsmarine, admiral, you had found KM buttons, well not to be identified as an admiral, he wore a lower ranks officer's uniform of Lt. I just looked everything up. Born in Russia, moved to New York after 1949. Hope this helps ya.
Nice episode again! Very cool finds and scenery. Cheers
Great video with some amazing historical relics.😀👍
Glad you enjoyed the video Luke!
Oooooooooh yeeehhhhh...this really made my Friday night viewing ....who needs mainstream TV when you have content of this quality ... congrats on the finds my friend especially the number plate

wow, what great finds youve all found. the ciggarette case is a Brittish Rizla Baccy tin that you roll your own cigs in and they pop up through the slot. good hunting, Mac.

Thanks Mike, really enjoyed your video! Hope for more. :)
More to come!
Hi from denmark
Amazing to see a Dansk krone there
(danish coin)
Nice vids by d way😄👍
Really enjoyed this one...........Very well preserved items..............Thanks and Blessings...............
Glad you enjoyed it! You are right. That Norwegian rocky soil preserves the finds well!
Personally, I like the bakelite items. Much harder to find because they're not metal. The decontamination bottle was very cool 😎. The little game pieces were nice as well.
I wonder if you can find what that license plate is from. The Germans documented everything.
Nice video, looking forward to seeing more. 👍
Hi Jim! I lurf those bakelite items too. They don't rust therefore stay in great shape and are hard to come by.
Tried to do some googling on the plate but can't find much about it.
As I found, the license plates weren't connected at any way to a certain type of vehicle. What I did find was this range: Militair district VI Münster (Westfalen) = WH 60.000-69.999 So 613545 fits in this range 😃 please correct me if I'm wrong
nice work .. i like this work
I enjoyed that.
Some great finds there boys, especially the license plate, that's super cool! 👍🏻
Hi Adam! Thanks for watching. Nice to read you enjoyed the video. Finding that license plate was good luck for me there.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting yes very lucky indeed my friend.
Looking forward to the next dig.
Take care until then
I envy you for having so many interesting sites in your region, but it's also unfortunate that the people there had to suffer under Nazi occupation. All things in life have trade-offs.
Very Cool find especially the wrist bracelet, great Ooo Day...
thanks for watching! It was a great oooo day! More oo's to follow!
Nice job Mike! Greetings from Finland!
The best channel 👌 from Brazil 🇧🇷

Was für ein Abenteuer! Jeder hat was schönes gefunden. War viel Arbeit, aber wenn einen das Schatzfieber ergreift, muss man immer weiter buddeln.
Danke fürs zuschauen. Du habst Recht, wenn Sie "Müll" finden, müss man tiefer buddeln! :)
15:00 I think it is from a pocket watch.
Good to see you Mike
The cigarette box is a cigarette rolling machine for papers and tobacco. I have a modern version
1st rule of cleaning old things, don't use brillo pad
The cigarette box looks like a cigarette rolling machine...
That bracelet thing looks like a gastapo I'd disk chain
The chain your freind pulled up from the ground is for a pocket watch i belive :)
18:07 is a german parfume bottle
Nice finds guys
Keep up the good work
bedankt Twan! Herkende je het merk?
I always love the buttons such nice things
Me too! Especially when they are nicely decorated
Norway looks beautiful
Chain item could be watch fob
Weeral prachtige video Mike!
Bedankt Milan!
We had exactly the same cigarette machine in a dump pit here. I have to say that we are on this site for nearly three years. Glück auf!
Really? Nice! Did you manage to clean it up? The one I found is too far gone.
@@IronMikeMetaldetecting It's made of zinc, what is a sensitive material after this long time buried. Cleaning with water, soap and a brush gave us a good result. After drying in the oven it was preservated with wax. That's all. I really wonder how dump pits from ww2 have nearly the same contents. We have surely thousands of theses ampoules...
Ooooooo got my Hoodie ordered yeaaaaaaa!
ooohhh yes! Thanks for ordering one John! It comes with an Instagram shout-out if you post a picture of it there (and tag me in it).
:)
Super video weer mike. 👌👌
The bottle with the esg it's Essig Essenz, manufacturer Surig
I am SO late but @3:47 that plate seems to have an SS on the left corner, which funny enough is where the symbol goes on any german license plate
So cool! Great work!
Thank you Morgan!
... a button without a uniform, a license plate without a car or another vehicle, individual coins and chains ...
WH stands for Wilhelmshaven. I like youre Videos. Please more of them. Greetings from Germany
No WH Stands for Wehrmacht Heer
NICE!
Really awesome finds 👍
My great grandfather Was stationed in Norway at a Weather Station. Who knows, maybe some of the stuff you found Was his 😁
Oooooh amazing finds Mike and friends keep digging the good stuff
Una aventura muy entretenida , saludos
Is that a braclet or a lanyard/watch fob
In 23:12 Mike says "...and had some R & R in Norway...". What does these letters mean?
Edit: Thanks for the heart, Mike! You are great!
Rest & Recuperation
@@S10lifted95 Thanks! I'm brazilian and english isn't my first language, so I don't know what these military terms mean.
Na war doch ne geile runde Mike ... Gratuliere

My dream would be to metal detect European battlefields
Hello from Sweden 🇸🇪
I need to be adopted by a female.
Got sister ?
Esse trabalho pode ser perigoso, cuidado com campos minados...
The chain that was found is a Pocket Watch chain.
Hey you could be right about that. That never came to mind that it could be a pocket watch chain.
I'll have Kim check that out. Thanks for your help.
Mike what do you do with all of your finds?????
Kriegsmarine ok maar meer exact Küsten-Artillerie zie je aan de gepebbelde voorkant ;)
Werd me later ook op gewezen. Wist niet dat er verschil was tussen de twee.
viniger and baking soda will clean it up nice
Hi Wes! Clean up which item? the chain/bracelet?
This is so god damm interesting.
Nice.

Yes, more to come!

Its not a bracelet - for a pocketwatch.
They picked um off while they shit in our woods.
I have a question i wanna buy again a new metaldetector but i have the feeling that There is not much war stuff left in the ground is it still worth it?

Hey man! Travel enjoy my cool funny friend!
Hey, thanks John!
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Mike! Mug me!!
sorry buddy, you were too late. Maybe next time!
Missed out again :(
Sorry buddy, maybe next time :)
Tolle funde.
The old coin is the best find I think. What is your oldest coin you ever dug up Mike? Enjoyed the video a lot. Happy hunting
Hi Neville! Yeah the coin was a nice surprise. Especially because it wasn't even that deep.
Found a Roman coin a while back. That must have been the oldest, no dates on those unfortunately.
