    » SELF-INTRODUCTION
We were just an ordinary Japanese married couple, both working, until my wife suddenly chose to move overseas.
After thinking deeply, I reached a conclusion to leave the company I worked for 12 years, and started my new life as a stay-at-home dad in 2021.
At first, I had rough time with stress and felt conflicted, but now I enjoy my life in Malaysia, taking the household chores over from my wife.
As I changed my lifestyle I changed my hairstyle to Samurai(Man Bun).
I named this channel "Samurai -----" as some people call me "samurai!" since I came to Malaysia.
In this channel, I will be introducing:
    1. My daily life and things I noticed as stay-home-dad
    2. My Malaysian life
    3. Changes we experience upon moving overseas
    Hope you enjoy!

Oh man... mee goreng mamak is very2 dangerously addictive. Cannot get enough... i always order another fried egg and they put chili sauce on top of it ohhhhhh I like it. And then you squeeze the lime on top of it, woahhhhh soooo goood. Also if it's spicy, the teh ais can really help haha. Or Milo ice... such an adventure hahaha

A very humble cook when he said that the taste of his dish would be 75 %. He is very personable and can speak fairly good English. You should try his Indian Rojak with sweet potatoes sauce, WITHOUT the noodles. From the look of his mee goreng, I am sure his Indian Rojak will be good, too.

P/S: I think the delicacy you were asking for at the end of the video is called CUCUR - it’s basically meatball-sized fried flour batter. Sometimes they put prawn inside and it’s called CUCUR UDANG - udang is prawn. Glad you enjoyed your morning walk at the old side of Bangsar.

In the fried noodle, you have already found the fried tofu. The one you asked about was most likely a fried fritter, which is basically fried flavoured dough. There is a proper name for it, but most people will understand if you call it "kueh" as in "kueh untuk mee goreng mamak". Many shops use only one type of kueh in their fried noodles, though there are places that use more than one type.

Oh, thank you for explaining it so well😊 It's kueh...!!

    • @truebluekit
      @truebluekit Před 11 měsíci

@@SamuraiStayAtHomeDad remember, if you just say "kueh" in general or at any other places, people will think to the traditional small Malay or Nyonya cakes, either sweet or savory, which as you know are also called "kueh".. 😅

Not Kueh, it's call cucur . Usually have 2 types. Cucur Badak and Cucur Udang.

Looks so mouth-watering! Msia indeed a variety blast of delicious F&B. But Samurai man, my advice is when u ask how much to avoid saying to food vendors directly.'It's very cheap!' Yes, it's very cheap for middle and upper income class pple but for the lower income working Msians that plate of mee goreng offers a fantastic reasonably price affordable food for sustenance. Just say 'wow good or nice price or just say nothing, but be very happy!😂 My family had 3 bowls of simple ramen at a very small halal resto in Tokyo each bowl costs ¥1450 for 3 son and husband we paid ¥4350 plus sc not sure total how much hubby paid. But it's OK we're just on a holiday🤭 a memorable experience😂. Def gonna visit Salim's'🤤

If you enjoy Mee Mamak, you must try the one in New Apollo Coffeeshop in USJ 4. You can have the Mee Goreng (Dry) and also the Mee Rebus (with a thick sauce). This stall is a relative of the famous Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng in Penang. The taste is authentic and very good.
Apart from that, you can also have the Hokkien prawn mee and the beef hor fun (flat rice stick noodles) here which are both above average standard in this coffeeshop.
