In this video we do a walk around of a 1982 Datsun 720 pickup truck.
This thing has a Chevy TBI Vortec 4.3l engine (previously turbo charged) Toyota axles, lockers, shortened bed, XO FAB Offroad DIY sliders, homemade bumpers and much more.

Freakin AWESOME! My first 4x4 was a 1984 Nissan single cab 4wd. Loved it. Rock solid and classic body style. That 720 on 40s and a Chevy V6 rocks! Great job.

94 s10 here my 4.3 379k I just replaced seals in everything still in good shape body is getting rusty I've got a 93 jeep front axle I'm about to swap in been a fun truck still factory I broke down and bought a new truck and can finally turn it into a toy

Man I love this truck, more or less what my s10 is on its way to becoming. Though I've got a 350 in the works for mine.
My first truck was an 82 regular cab with a 3" lift and 33's ...it was a head turner back in the day, but not nearly the beast that you have there.

@@MuddyBeards4X4 yeah I know he mentioned in the video he was eventually going to swap the KA24E and turbo that, I just would find it more interesting to see him build the 4.3 turbo.

I thought datsuns were driver side drop tcases. How'd he get the stock tcase to work with the passenger drop toyota axle?
So I have a 83 720- money and time would you recommend that swap? I looking for mainily using google as a trail rider or should I just get a 4 wheeler like a Polaris?

Is this 4.3 swap only doable because of the SAS? Also since it’s a divorced transfer case are you running a 2wd transmission? I’m interested in doing this any info I could get I would appreciate it. Thank you

40’s with 4:10’s ... why?
Its a very low budget build havent got around to gears yet. It does real decent on 410's though will still do 100 on the freeway and can still do a burnout on pavement but will probably do gears in the future depending on power of the new swap.
I have a 720 that's oem frame up but Toyota leafs, axles, and 35s with 5.29s
Been a DD/wheeler for 3 years now, does 70 no problem and I've kept it on the cheap like yours though most of my money went into the axles...
Still looking forward to seeing the muddy beards group out on some trails one of these days

Well, it does look like it goes off road. So, who cares what the interior looks like.
Mine sees a decent amount of off-road and still looks good. Everything’s stock, everything works except the clock :( . Nice build though!
