  • Having quit Seroquel seven months ago, I discovered the MOST dangerous side effect of this poisonous drug. The changes in metabolism caused by Seroquel use are frightening and potentially life threatening, so if you are taking Seroquel, I strongly urge you to get your cholesterol levels checked.

I was given both seroquel and zyprexia at the same time years ago and they raised my blood sugar to giddy heights. I saw my chart (the doctors weren't even concerned) and said "take me off of that stuff" - lo and behold I became diabetic right around the corner. This is too high a price to pay. I am angry and hurt the we have too many inept physicians in this country.

I nearly died from taking Seroquel, I had an allergic reaction and it put me in a psychosis and gave me a PTSD breakdown and made me incoherent. It was awful....it happened to me in Oct of 2020 it also made my heart race super fast and I felt like I was dying it made me severely dehydrated...scariest moment of my life....

I was given Seroquel by my psychiatrist but I didn't want to take it so he continued to insist to take the pill. I finally took it after few months of debate with my doctor... and oh boy he was wrong. I almost died, I'm pretty sure if it was a higher dose I would not be here to tell the tale. So I took it around 8 PM. After that I went to my computer to play some games.... 15 minutes passed and I started to fell sleepy but I continued playing on my pc. A few minutes later all the sounds in my headphones started to scare me, not only scare me but also give me palpitations and numbing my lips for whatever reason. This was the moment I said " -Ok, time to go to bed this is no bueno".... After going in bed I tried to sleep..... no sleep, only restless legs which I never had. After a 10 minutes or so I fell asleep but not for long. Every time I fell asleep I woke up gasping for air. My mom was near me the hole time so she told me I kept stopping from breathing. After doing like that for around half an hour, I woke up and told my mom that something is not right. She barely took me to the bathroom to at least wash my face with ice cold water... during the trip to the bathroom I felt really nauseous and wanted to vomit but couldn't. When coming back from the bathroom I almost passed out. After coming back into my room I turned on the tv loud and put my mom to keep talking with me so I would not pass out so the substance can go away and not kill me -_-. Worst experience. I suffer from autism and mild depression but I'm not sure why the doctor prescribed me this.... I'm still at that doctor but I will change it soon as he does not give a F about my health anymore.

I had to read all the comments lol but this is my experience. When I first took seroquel in ‘18 I hated it! I slept 12-16 hrs daily and would feel groggy in between. I couldn’t function so I requested to be taken off the drug. Fast forward to 2021 and I was offered seroquel again. I was on a different combination of meds, so I was ok trying it again. At first I was tried and gained quite a few pounds BUT I can say I’ve been more stable now than I’ve ever been. A year later I’ve adapted to taking it, so I’m less tired, get great sleep, and with this new diet/fitness regimen I’ve lost 40lbs. It’s not a drug for everyone, but it is working well for me. Again I’m only a year in, so long term effects are still probable.

Your videos give me so much comfort knowing I'm not alone. Did your personality and your mind ever return to normal, or do you feel permanently damaged, I'm 5 1/2s months off and was on 300 mgs everyday for 2 years and I feel barely any improvement if not like I've been damaged I'm some profound way. Is there light at the end of the tunnel, is it possible to ever return back to your mental home? Strangely my voice and my memory both feel as though they have been completely destroyed, along with my natural ability to fall asleep and even communicate on the most basic of level. I used to sing and impersonate and I feel it's all dead. But the memory lapses, more accurate near full blown amnesia is the most horrific, coupled with the inability to speak of remember who I even was before this nightmare. I feel like I will never be the same ever again 💔😢

PS out of curiosity how much were you on for how long? If you don't feel comfortable answering just forget about it but I know some people take 50 mgs and still have lots of side effects, I was on 300 for 2 years so maybe it will be different for me.
Also, I took Zzquil, unisom, all the diphenhydramine sleep aids and they do work to fall asleep, but they made me feel very groggy and out of it even on low doses the next day, also I looked it up and it says that any benedryl (diphenhydramine related medications can also cause memory problems) which came as a great revelation to me because that and alcohol that I used for sleep aids seemingly also gave me memory issues, not nearly as bad as Seroquel and subtle yet definitely noticable. I notice that 200 mgs of CBD works just as effective only leaves me feeling the next day like I took nothing. I also feel it's much less invasive as days I can't have it I'm not guaranteed insomnia, where as when I would take Zzquill, I developed somewhat of a depedance. Rick Simpson Lazerus CBD I highly recommend brother, thanks again so much for everything and good luck :)

I have to believe the ones that have gone through this. I should start seeing improvements in the next couple weeks. I can only pray. Thank you so much for your review about this drug! My psychiatrist prescribed me Seroquel 1 month ago but I don't feel like it's worth taking the risk. I am depressed and suffer from anxiety and insomnia but all these have their own treatment. I have a really good antidepressant without dangerous side effects, I take Xanax which is perfect for me because it works immediately (and I'm not addicted to it) + sleeping pills when I have insomnia. No need to take Seroquel imo. It's a good thing for Big Pharma (people ending up having metabolic health problems, high cholesterol levels, obesity, heart issues and so on), but not for us!

Seroquel saved my life. I've been on it for 6 years. I have my bloods done 4 times per year to monitor blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. I also have an ECG every year, which everyone taking the drug should have. If you are taking it and your GP doesn't know this, just politely remind them :) The generic version of Seroquel (quetiapine) was terrible though, I can only tolerate Seroquel. My only issue is that if I forget to take it I struggle to sleep. But genuinely, it saved my life. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience on it. I tried many drugs before I ended up on Seroquel so it was a last resort situation.

I just went through this last night. I finished eating dinner and I pick one and a 1/2 as the doctor recommended it. And then 20 minutes later hell broke loose. I had to get on my knees and pray to Jesus that he would save my life. And he did because my heart was beating so fast. I thought I was nearly gonna have a heart attack. But by the grace, I'm still here by his mercy. I had felt symptoms few days before, but did not add it up. But Jesus Christ himself had already warned me. I didn't listen because I didn't understand. If I had known it was a psychotic medication. I would have never took it. I was given to that while I was in the hospital for a few days. And my doctor even was a disagreement on it. He wasn't the one who prescribed it. But said since I had been on it to stay on it. I only took about 5 pills for this to happen. And I still don't feel right only after taking 5 pills but I feel like I got the fast now to get it out of my system a complete. To take it out of my system. Because I still feel residue from it. Please get off of it if you're on it. Because it is affectionate or logical really bad. I was saved by the blood of the lamb. Because I do walk with Jehovah God. The only reason why I took these things is because I felt like I was in psychosis. What I feel like Jesus was telling me was I was in this association? Not wanted to believe his truth. But he showed me more today that I totally understand when you walk in. Christ satan does the same thing to you as he did the Jesus. He'll make sure all your pleasures are gone, which actually benefits me. Because that's the walk with Christ is losing. Have a pleasure on the cross. Is scary? I don't understand it all yet but I'm sure I will. I totally get is as long as there is some happiness at the end of this dark road. I'm willing to do what I can to get there. It's called The Dark Knight of the soul where you have no pleasures. No dopamine, but I'm struggling with, but Jesus has got me. I have no doubt in that cause I wouldn't be here if he had not

When I was first given this it changed my life for the better, it's like it flipped my mood cycling upside down and I was mostly always full of energy maybe a bit on the high side. I lost tons of weight and felt great! Then I had a more severe episode of depression, they added an SSRI and my moods went nuts. I now find out that at some point in the last year I have had a heart attack! I was getting shortness of breath and rapid heart rate and despite reporting this to the psychiatrist he ignored it.
