Hey everyone! I wanted to update and say that the following brands have confirmed that Hyram has worked for and with them on a contracted/sponsorship basis.
Hyram's title of "SPECIALIST" is explained further by a representative from YTTP in an email to me. "An education specialist is part of our field team that focuses on sales and education mainly at Sephora. Hyram was a contract sales representative under this position" - when I asked if "education specialist" comes with certificate or formal training, they responded with the above only.
    - Youth To The People (YTTP) further responded to me and officially confirmed in an email that Hyram has been paid by them under a contract role/"freelance" position, confirming he has been paid by their company to promote and share YTTP's products.
    - First Aid Beauty has confirmed that they have a partnership with Hyram.
    - Kosas Cosmetics has confirmed that they have worked with Hyram on their Chemistry launch.
These are not sponsorships that Hyram himself consistently discloses.
I am continuing to reach out to other companies he has promoted products for to learn more.
This is again, not hate towards Hyram, but to keep things transparent for you all as viewers because you have a right to know. x

There are lot of more reasons to choose that.

@@amor797 I get your point about the inconsistencies in his skincare routine verses what he promotes on his channel. I believe he stated that he doesn’t promote certain products because he knows that the price point is above what his main demographic, which is teens/young adults, can afford. As far as the affordable brands he promotes like cerave, inkey list, and the ordinary; please don’t write these brands off. They’re all amazing, especially inkey list!! DIY masks haven’t personally worked for me so I can’t recommend them, but if it works for you that’s fine as well! I think that finding a balance between the two and determining what works for you is the way to go. There are also plenty of other CZcamsrs (both big and small) that rave about these brands. I was SO disgusted when he made a video on Selena Gomez. He has absolutely 0 right to offer advice to someone with a condition as serious as lupus. Systemic lupus erythematous can attack any organ in the body, including the skin. Hyram is not a rheumatologist or dermatologist and the fact he felt entitled enough to ‘educate’ Selena on how she should be taking care of her skin is so beyond ridiculous. Skin care is not a cute frivolous thing if you have lupus. The majority of lupus patients are also photosensitive, meaning that UV light triggers inflammation within the body. For some lupus patients, this means UV light will trigger hot red rashes across the cheeks and nose, and for others it can cause severe organ damage and failure. Sunscreen is EXTREMELY important for the vast majority of lupus sufferers. Not only did Hyram tell Selena which sunscreen she should and shouldn’t use, he recommended the Purito Comfy Water Sun Block. Sure, he didn’t know at the time that the SPF was only 17 (SPF 50 is recommended for lupus patients) but he shouldn’t have been offering Selena any advice in the first place. So many lupus patients could have seen that video and purchased that sunscreen. And guess what? The video is still up. The majority of his viewers are not watching every video he puts out, staying on top of ‘skin care drama’. He is currently putting lupus patients in so much harms way. Selena had lupus nephritis, meaning her lupus was attacking her kidneys. She needed a kidney transplant. She has arthritis from lupus attacking her joints. If she’s photosensitive, as most lupus patients are, he could have caused significantly more damage to her body. I have lupus that attacks my brain, which caused me to develop epilepsy when I was 15, and Hyram’s suggestion could have put me in a dangerous position. Um yeah, and the fact that over 90% of lupus patients are women really doesn’t look good when you consider how he’s treated women in videos in the past. Just another self-entitled man telling others what they should and shouldn’t do to their body without any education or credentials to back it up. Truly disgusting.

I’m not against being eco friendly because there are some companies that are able to combine science and natural, and come out with great products.

Maybe because I stopped trying out products desperate for something that would finally work and just focused on taking care of my face, cleansing, moisturising and not doing much else (rarely used spf because I was mostly indoors with the blinds shut down bc hey ✨ quarantine depression ✨) and my skin actually got a lot better and my acne is not nearly as bad as it used to be. I feel like as soon as I stopped acting as if my face had a "problem" that had to be solved I felt a lot better about myself. You know, I'm just a human with human-textured-discoloured skin and the rest of the world is likely not paying enough attention to me to see all these small imperfections that I see.
A few weeks ago I went through my yt subscriptions and unsubed from a lot of creators, I unsubed from his channel bc I don't feel inspired by him anymore and him dropping a skincare line rubbed me the wrong way since he preaches so much about sustainability.

Update: hyram is not a legal medical practitioner, he is not a legal dermatologist, he in a not a legal anything. He doesn’t have certificates, or degrees or anything in medical skincare etc. he is a self diagnosed “specialist” who tells you things you can google yourself. He is not a specialist. If you have questions about your skin contact a licensed skincare specialist or anyone who is licensed or has a medical background in it.

We don't know for sure if nano filters are damaging, yes, but those two specific chemical filters are such a small part of the problem overall (about 200th on a list of things harming reefs) and I think it's irresponsible to push a type of sunscreen that is heavily suspected of being harmful too. Not to mention the mining of zinc is absolutely devastign to the environment and arguably does more damage than chemical filters do! It would be far better for Hyram to find reef safe chemical sunscreens he likes and push those instead since we know, for certain, they're as reef safe (if not safer, which is likely) than nano mineral sunscreens.

I live in Denmark and for some reason Danes are so scared of perfume and fragrance that you can get literally any product fragrance free, sunscreen, body soap, makeup, you name it. We also have apps made by scientists were you can scan products and see if they have any fragrance or ingredients that could be harm full to your skin. When I started watching Hyram I loved him so much and bought all the products he recommended. When i got home I scanned them with the app and I was so surprised to se that almost all of the products had fragrance and even Ingredients that are bad for the environment.

It’s already a hassle finding products that work and don’t work. I get extremely overwhelmed by skincare videos. I tend to watch dermatologist on youtube rather than people who call themselves “specialist” but aren’t educated. It’s not just the products. It’s your gult health, physical, and even mental. Stress plays a huge part and even hormonal acne that is uncontrollable. I don’t see him talking about that stuff which is also 100% important. Yeah, I'm not even subscribed to Hyram and watched this video with an open mind but eye cream has long been touted as not something as important in skincare as say, facial wash or sunscreen.
The way she's dragging him and the accusations for sexism, it's just, a lot of it is a stretch.
And it IS safer to use products that have been carefully formulated by scientists, chemists, doctors, etc than slapping on food on your face. If it works for you, then that advice isnt for you, but it really is safer to put tested products on your face than just food with unstable levels that could irritate your face or worse, could lead to something more severe if you have an unknown allergy to it. I dont know. Even Cassandra Bankson (who I am not a fan of btw) gives that same advice, and it's sensible advice to give and not worth getting worked up about, imo.
Hyram has also given advice that I dont agree with (he loves and recommends Cerave but it has never agreed with my skin, he drags Kiehl's, and it rescued my skin) but I dont feel personally offended by it or jump to the slippery slope conclusion that he's sketchy and untrustworthy. He does more harm than good, so. 🤷‍♀️
