      Amazing reaction! :) Always think of a hi-hat or a cymbal as simple 1, 2, 3, 4 - 1, 2, 3, 4 - 1, 2, 3, 4 - 1, 2, 3, 4 that's all you have to remember :) The snare is always falling on the 3 and everything underneath is just.. crazy :D Like for example, Born In Dissonance resolves after every 15/4 but the pulse is always in 4/4. That is the beauty of Meshuggah! :) Okay, now to the less popular track - "Electric Red" from obZen is such an underrated track!!! One of my favourites another neck snapper... It's damn heavy!

      Apparently, there is a more "official" video for this track produced by the record company. I've never seen it, but they've stated that they thought it sucked so they made this video on their own while touring. And the rest is history... ;)

You are about the only reaction channel that does this with these strange heavy bands, love it! I have a suggestion of a song by Meshuggah that is really epic and gets very beautiful at the end.     I see no one requesting it but MAN. It would be a treat to see you react to Neurotica. It's another one off Chaosphere and Thomas haake is showcasing nasty grooves that drive the track all the way through. It is one of their """""slow""""" tempo song (a bit faster than Break Those Bones blabla) therefore there is room for atmosphere (Jens Kindman is singing like a madman here). It is surely a different one than the songs you've heard up to now (and it has been my favorite track for many years).

    Hey Drew, drummer here.
    You should not always follow the hihat on every beat, try nodding on 1 and 3.
    1 being cymbal and 3 being snare. So you basically half your nodding. That's the real groove right there.

    Hey Drew I love your reactions as always. And yeah this is an absolute banger of a track. As regards to following the 4/4 beat you should try mixing it up and follow the snare instead of the high hat next time. It will somehow hit a little different - Meshuggah is beautiful im that sense!

    I love this song, it's so fun. Following the high hat is great advice for newbies to Meshuggah. Whomever said that, kudos! That will help so many people find their way into this music. Following the dominant beat and *feeling* the rhythm/riffs in your peripheral is a great way to get a consistent vibe with the groove regardless of how they change it up.

    This song actually got me into Meshuggah! I heard others of their popular tracks before, but didn't get into them in that way. But as soon as the groovee of NMCC hit me, I was listening to the Chaosphere album day in and out. Ultimately it got me into Meshuggah.

    Have you heard any Haken? Vector/Virus (kind of like a double album they did most recently) are such amazing albums, probably my favourite of any prog albums. The song Puzzle Box is great from Vector, as is the epic 20 minute long Messiah Complex on Virus. Honestly I love every song on those albums to death, Invasion is another great track from Virus

    Okay, I haven't done it in a few videos now but here it comes again! VOLA - Head Mounted Sideways! Meshuggah meets OSI my dude, I've been a fan of VOLA for a minute, but it wasn't until they put out this song I had to bring it to your attention. This song has ALL the it factor, I've had it on repeat for almost 2 months! I'd never steer ya wrong my guy!

    Meshuggah is definitely one of if not the most influential metal bands of all time! My boss recently turned down me onto them when I asked "Do you know any good bands?" Instantly a fan after hearing them! Even seeing them live in December for their Immutable tour!

    For 90% of Meshuggah tracks, count 1, 2, 3, 4 on the hi-hat and symbol, with the snare on 3. You'll be grooving in 4/4 with them then. 10% of tracks fuck with this a bit, but generally it's all in 4 with the snare on 3.

    In fairness you can follow the snare or the hi-hat here. It's all the same time. I once heard Meshuggah referred to as a 5 piece rhythm section and that's not far from the truth.

    The video reminds me of many a minibus journey up the Dublin road to gigs with friends back in the day.🤘😃The song does eggsactly what it says on the tin, too. The constant cascade of chugged up riffage has the power to bate the face off anybody. Again, theres something mantra like about the indented repetition of the riffs, and you gotta zone into it, follow it. Not an avid listener o'the band meself, but I enjoy the reactions and listening in. By the way lad- huge Comhghairdeas to ya on the 100K. 👍

    If you want to get to a sick deep cut from Meshiggah go with Soul Burn. It’s a crowd fav they always play it live. That or try Sickening. Another filthy track from the older parts of their catalogue

    Following that 4/4 percussion line is def key to following most of Meshuggah's stuff. If you want to be able to follow the guitars, keep bobbing to the 4/4 beat but instead of counting the number of notes between beats, pay attention to the short groups of notes the guitars play and count the notes in them. Meshuggah's riffs are (mostly) based on repeating patterns of these groups (e.g., 1 3 3, 1 3 3, ...), but because these riffs don't usually align with the 4/4 rhythm, they'll get cut short to realign before either repeating the riff or starting the next section (e.g., 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 | 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 3, 1 3 | ...). Notice how "|" in that example marks a group of 32 notes, or 8 groups of 4.

    You should check out "Pravus" next! Never seen anyone recommend it yet and it's the song that Meshuggah opened their live sets with over the last couple years so you know it's a proper banger.

    Yeah.... here’s how a bass player does it... since we are the “translators” from the drums to the guitar.... you find the groove with the hi-hat and snare, you set that in motion and put the vibe on cruise control... then... cut it in half and you’ll be able to follow the guitar... but keep your head on the 1/4 notes of the hi-hat...

    Electric Red live at Tokyo is amazing, together with Lethargica at Toronto, they change the tempo a bit so it sounds even more brutal, so good.

    Well, I'm surprised no one suggested it, so I'll indulge :
    Rob Scallon did a cover of this, alongside Leo Moracchioli from Frog Leap Studios, and another person specifically for the solo. Listen to it. It sounds even *heavier* than this. And Rob plays it on a frickin' SHOVEL.

    I am 33 and started listening to Meshuggah when I was a teenager, so over 15 years ago... this track came out when I was 6 years old and slaps harder than anything around today. I know that makes me sound like an old man but goddamn, nothing will ever match up to this monumental band.

    Really cool you're focusing on more unknown tracks. Check out Meshuggah - Swarm.
    If you're looking for some new bands, check out Car Bomb and Archspire. Both really don't get covered in reactions. Imo both bands don't have a bad song.
    Also I know you've done a good amount of Jinjer, but if you want a really good song that has almost no coverage in the reaction channels check out Destroy. In fact on the album it's only a live track. But they do have live video of the song and it's way back with a bunch of the original members. I don't think there's a reaction of the song anywhere.
