  • A chat about how our tarot habits can change over time and how things come to us when the time is right. The names of the plants that I show you all are Caladium. There is Kathleen, Rosebud and Red Flash. And, the word that my tongue was tripping over is indoctrinated. LOL.
Have a lovely morning, day, evening where ever you are.

This is so cool you're studying Thoth tarot. Over time i have grown to adore the original deck by Aleister and Harris. The more i read and study the more i want to know about the deck and Crowley. A great book to study the symbols in the cards is 'The Thoth Companion' book. I've recently been looking at Crowleys other works. Decided to begin with 'Magic Without Tears' a book of correspondence between Aleister and some of his students. Love your videos Elaine 🙂

Thank you Ben. I have made a note of the books you have mentioned and will most certainly look them up. I am in agreement with you that once this hooks you, the desire to want to know more is quite something else. Do let me know how you find the book 'Magic Without Tears', that sounds very interesting. Thank you so much Ben. I appreciate the lovely comments and you taking the time to watch and interact with me. Wishing you well. 🙏❣️

Hi Elaine loved todays chat I too had a similar experience and just sent my Thoth to Charity, however I am more open to seeing things from different perspectives and as I learn more, things just begin to unfold with more depth and resonance calling me back to a place where I feel ready to explore further. Thank you for sharing this was really synchronistic today ❤

@@cindytrew5836 Hello Cindy, isn't it just magical when synchronicity happens like this. Being drawn to look back over a deck that we originally purchased and rejected pretty soon after is almost like a 'coming home'. We were compelled to purchase it for a reason yet it was not the time to work with it. As they say here in Ireland, 'What is meant for you won't pass you by!'. I hope you enjoy the journey of rediscovering this deck. I had a similar experience with the Deviant Moon deck too. Thank you for taking the time to respond to this video. E ❤️🙏

    Hi Elaine.Hope you are well.
Very interesting that you talk about the Throth tarot as I purchased a deck not so long ago. I always put off buying an Alistair Crowley deck for reasons that I thoughtthe deck may be too dark ect but it was obvious my guides wanted me to get the deck as they kept reappearing to me in various ways , like things do . So I succumbed and bought the small deck and I am so pleased I did. I bought a couple of kindle books to read up on the deck but like you found I had to read in small bite sized pieces.
But from day one the deck read beautifully. It really works I find purely from the intuition and I find I get information from a card that perhaps I never got from the RWS decks and I find with the Throth if you have knowledge of RWS and combine the two the Throth works beautifully. I don’t think maybe they would work well for beginners perhaps, but I think if you have an individual way of using the tarot they will just slot in and work beautifully. I use other decks to clarify and it works so well. Now I am reluctant to use other decks as I seem to be getting such amazing results.
Alistair Crowley was dark but it was his way of working with magic and using the Kabbalah in combination with the tarot, and I think for the day people viewed his lifestyle as dark where as nowadays they wouldn’t so much,
Yes fantastic deck and they read in a very very individualised way which is quite unique and when you have been reading tarot for many years you really think the days of buying a deck and being totally mesmerised is something belonging to the early days but with this deck I was proved wrong 💜💜💜💜

Hi John, All good here thank you. I hope you are well too. I absolutely agree with you 100%. I also do not think that this is a deck for beginners as there is just so much to absorb. Mind you, on saying that, I have known a couple of folk who started on Thoth, which really amazes me as they must be exceptionally patient and studious people. It has taken me so long to take the leap, that I have surprised myself. Yes, as you so rightly say, Alistair Crowley was dark and used the cards more for magic as opposed to divination, which, in a sense, gives us licence to 'read as we find'. It will be interesting to look at the deck alongside oracle cards too. Like you, I have been proven wrong re this deck. I wish you success with all your readings. It is akin to a new adventure isn't it. Thank you for watching the video and for taking the time to respond. 😊❣️🙏

I have two versions of the Thoth tarot of Crowley, one is the traditional one by U S Games Systems and the other is "The Millennium Thoth" by Lo Scarabeo, with the artwork of Renata Lechner, that is nicer as she had made the images more easy to understand, less psychedelic. I need to study this deck more and use it in my practice, maybe for myself only. The art of Frieda Harris in the original is lovely, I like it a lot.
I was grown at the Catholic Church also, and Crowley, you are right, is considered like something like the devil himself. "Satanic" is the term they use about him. I think he was a very strange fellow, you know, someone that was always trying to oppose to everything that were "traditional accepted", but the fact that he were at odds with Arthur Waite and the Golden Dawn is not a good thing. It speaks bad about him in terms of esoterism. I think he was a very mentally disturbed man that enjoyed to be seen as "dangerous"... Lol.
The first plant you showed is called "Caladium Bicolor". Many people have this plant inside the house over here. It is a toxic plant, you know. You need to be careful with its manipulation and never consume it as an infusion. It is toxic for animals as well, so watch out your dogs don't eat it.

Hello Marcie, firstly thank you so much for the heads up regarding the Caladium Bi-Colours. I didn't have a clue that they're toxic. I do wish that they would state this at the point of purchase. I will ensure that they are out of reach of Sally and Sam, thanks again for that.
Yes I agree with you re Crowley, and the fact that he definitely was a strange man. ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder) springs to mind here, and it does make you wonder what levels of opposing rules, he would go to if he were alive today, or if he would have been labelled as some sort of 'misguided savant'. As dark and oppositional as he was, he appears to have had quite a 'different level of intelligence' if that makes any sense.
I am definitely going to look up 'The Millennium Thoth' as that sounds like something that will really boost my learning and understanding of this deck.
I too am only using this deck for myself at the moment, and feel that this will be the likelihood for the foreseeable future.
Marcie, thank you so much once again for being here and taking the time to respond to the video and for the very important information on the Caladium, it is totally appreciated. I hope you are doing well, and that life is good, your support in my channel is totally appreciated. Enjoy the rest of the week. E x ❣️🙏

How you do so much in a day Elaine just amazes me. I did have a Thoth deck years ago but I did not like it, but truly I never actually took the time to really learn it. The artwork just didn't appeal to me.

Hi Marsha, you have made me smile as you would be quite surprised at how many times I 'veg out' with a book and sometimes with a movie during the day. I spent a lot of time focusing on the plants yesterday between rain showers, as I was falling behind with my hanging baskets and floral pots. Since retiring on health grounds, I am lucky to have that extra time to spend on my interests. Mind you, lately, If I sit down too long my eyes close and I feel like lead weights and pulling the eyelids down 😂
I totally get how you are averted to the Thoth, as this was pretty much how I felt. I struggled with the art too. I still have to look closely and shake my head in wonder at some of the cards, but having the resources to hand that I do, does help. I think that having a foundation in RWS does help and having experienced the decks working side by side has given me more of a desire to learn a lot more about the Thoth Tarot. I hope you are doing well Marsha, and that life is good. Thank you so much once again for the support and interaction on the channel. Enjoy the rest of the week. 🙏❣️

Ho Elaine love listening to you.i love the art work, but not the system, for me it is to much of dark energy behind it. Because of Crawley himself.

@@CharliesAngelTarot yes a few folk feel the same, as did I previously. I think the fact he used the deck for different purposes moreso than divination (magic etc) eased it for me and seeing how others use the deck opened my eyes to its uses. However, I totally understand how you feel.
