    Pro tip: This will fix drifting issues in both stability/6G mode, and non-stabilized/3D flight modes, BUT you have to be in stability mode to do the process.

    Exactly what I was looking for. Valuable info to not have it in the manual. Just tried it with my m2 explore and Spektrum NX8. Seems to go into the calibration mode. Gonna try tmrw when I have daylight.

    I also had a drifting problem on my M1 when 6G mode is on. Now I fixed it. I'm using Futaba radio. The factory manual should mention about this. Thanks.

    I don't think you can enter this calibration mode with any other radio than the OMP. At least I have not been able to find an answer, someone even down below in these comments asks this same question and still no clear answer. Was going to get a second M2 but at this point think Ill pass and get the Goblin Fireball instead. Not a fan of propriety stuff with meager documentation.

      @@RubenRC94 I just discovered that by accident a few days ago. I have an xk k123 scale micro and discovered the calibration method somewhere, not in the instruction manual. So thought I would try it on the M2 using my Spektrum DX8g2 and it did go into calibration mode.
      TNX for your comment. They really need to put important info like this in their documentation instead of letting people just discover it on their own.

    if using a satelite setup with futaba or spektrum cant you just use the trims on the tx?

    • @jaredarrington7142
      @jaredarrington7142 Před rokem +1

      No. Never use radio trims with any flybarless heli. The flybarless flight control processor (FBL) uses data from a gyroscopic potentiometer to orient the heli relative to level. Changing trims alters the transmitter output values only.

    I crash my M2 and replaced a bunch of part including the swashplate. I can't seem to figure the right approach out with the T6 radio to get the swashplate leveled - anyone gone through this process? Is there a best practice way to get things all set up correct before you start messing with the debug process?

    • @js32257
      @js32257 Před 2 lety

      I don't have a t6 radio but with any rc model the mechanics should be as close to perfect as you can make them.
      On a table: Unplug 2 of the motor wires to be safe. Turn off self leveling. Center your collective pitch stick and don't touch it or the helicopter. Look at all 3 servo arms. Are they EXACTLY centered? If they are off by a lot (shouldn't be the case) you can try removing the servo arm and re-installing it. Maybe it'll be better on tooth off from how it currently is but it's unlikely to be that far off from the factory.
      If the servo arms are off center just a little bit use trim on the transmitter to get all 3 servos as close as you can to perfectly centered. Once the servos are centered adjust the linkages (length or shorten) from the servos to the swashplate so it's level.
      Jiggle the collective and cyclic sticks and then re-center the collective stick to check your work.
      ( Google to find the way to set trim/subtrim on the T6. I found a link but youtube doesn't allow links in comments.)

      @@js32257 Thanks, Jason. I'll follow those steps and I appreciate the advice.

    • @js32257
      @js32257 Před 2 lety

      @@MarkSchaff Actually I did a little more research and it seems you can't adjust trim with the t6. You might be able to find what you're looking for on youtube but you will certainly find the answer on rcgroups. Add a dot and then a com to the end of that.
      I'll play with the flight controller and see how that adjusting works. I know it has swashplate adjustments but I wouldn't use it to adjust the swashplate directly. The "correct" order is get the servo arms as close as you can mechanically via picking the right alignment of the servo arm THEN make it perfect with the radio (or in this case - with the flight controller) and then the linkage lengths such the swash is level. You want the servo arms centered as a first step because if the swash is level at zero pitch but the servo arms are in different starting positions the arms will move at different rates due to being at different starting points of the arc they make. The swash may be level at 0 pitch but it'll be wrong in other positions because of the uneven movement of the servo arms.

    • @MarkSchaff
      @MarkSchaff Před 2 lety

      @@js32257 oh man.... great info.....thank you. You're right there are no trim adjustments on the radio - that's what makes this really confusing to me. All the steps make sense but it seems that they would have to be done in the right sequence. And I couldn't' find that anywhere. I'll try this approach and see how it works. Thanks again.
