Hi, my name is Jen I am 44 and live in Connecticut with my husband and 8 year old son. I am a stay-at-home Mom and full-time CZcamsr with a degree in business with a focus in marketing. Before leaving work when my son was born, I was a commercial lender at a bank. I also worked at Sephora and Macy's doing visual merchandising.
I have dry skin with some hyperpigmentation and fine lines. I love natural makeup looks but occasionally go outside my comfort zone a little bit. On my channel you'll find lots of videos about drugstore makeup and drugstore dupes (those are my favorites to film!) but I also review high-end makeup as well. Hi Jen! One thing I just discovered at Sephoras website is that most brands offer a mini size which is nice for me because I rarely use up makeup before it expires. It’s also great to try higher end brands without breaking the bank! I’m sure most people already know this but just wanted to share in case some don’t know. I love gourmand fragrance too!! Might have to pick up that Sol de Janeiro travel/trial size pack. I love minis now! ❤
An excellent point. The small sizes are great for travel.The fragrance minis, rollerballs, and travel sprays at Ulta and Sephora are also great. You can try out a fragrance without spending $$$ on a big bottle.
Re minis, I got a travel size of the Nars Orgasm blush to try, on eBay I think, because I kept reading how great it was. Yeah, it's a good blush - good color and longlasting - but it's a little bright for me to wear every day. Since the trend this spring is for bright blush, or so I've read, I'm wearing it now, but I'm not going to buy a bigger size.

I'm someone who hates fragrances. And if I do like fragrance I prefer ones marketed to men. I like pine, sandalwood, cedar, sage etc- but if I can smell someone's fragrance and I'm standing more than a foot away from them then it's too much.
I’m not usually a Bath and Body Works fan, but my daughter had some foaming hand soap, White Tea and Sage, that I really liked, so I bought them for my home. You might like it.
I've always loved "gourmande" scents, but back when it was all body spray. "Real" perfumed-adjacent fragrances always smelled like bug spray & "nightclub-at-8 am" to me, but I thought, well, makeup improved like crazy during my 8 year hiatus, people love these new food scents done in more complex perfumerie type formulas, I bet you'll love the new perfumes. Nope. I couldn't catch any of the notes, it just smelled like prom in 1987 mixed with DEET and desperation. No perfume for me! But woodsy essential oil fragrances do work. I'm guessing I react to the fixative in perfume that holds the complexity together & makes it last. Vanilla body spray is gone in 30 mins, but the perfume I tried lingered for 2-3 hours. Ughhh. I associate them all with these ultra heavy scents of the late 80s that would choke a horse & implied sexuality at an expert level, yet were worn enthusiastically by teenagers lol...
@@montananerd8244 I love this reply. I've never met a fragrance marketed to a woman that I liked. Back in the day, before essential oils were a thing, I did like the body oils that smelled like herbs/spices. to this day I always say, if I could roll around in some basil or thyme - that would be my preferred scent. I understand some people (most people) love the smells I hate, but I feel like I'm constantly punched in the face by other people's fragrance and let me tell you - if I can taste how you smell - there is a problem.
@@anitapaulus937 my two favorite smells on earth are by Barrel and Oak - Bourbon and Cedar and Mountain Sage. I get the body wash/hair products. They don't leave a lingering smell after the shower. I'll have to check out the white tea and sage. generally I prefer to live my life unscented. I hate being forced to smell perfumes from other people, so I try not to force others to smell my smells.

Viseart is my favorite. I like the magnetic component of each shade. I’ve never bothered to rearrange the shades, but I like the option!

I hope you don’t mind me mentioning this but I was wondering if you saw JenLuv’s video today- the one with Juvias Place in the title -- she shared a clip from Doll 10 where they were telling people that they don’t need to wear sunscreen and that it is dangerous. I know you have a collab with them (which I bought and absolutely love♥️) and I just thought you might want to see it because I know you have had skin cancer twice and sunscreen is a topic you are passionate about. I bought the Pistache pistachio body mist for my daughter at Christmas & the smell is amazingly delicious and very potent. I liked the skin care benefit also.

Many of the new matte lipsticks coming from sephora now our super smooth and comfortable like that! The old matte formula is on the way out!
I just tried an Apieu pastel blush in a peach tone. You were right about Korean blushes not being heavily pigmented. No matter what I do, I can't get to show up on my skin. Then I realized it's the perfect texture and color to use as a matt face powder! 😊
That pistachio body butter is my absolute favorite and has been for several years! In fact they also have a candle and a body spray which smell equally as delicious!! I too was disappointed by the Kayali scent and found it to be more floral

The Welcos strawberry milk body wash and lotion, I get from TJ Maxx And marshalls for 5.99. The same exact one...I love that scent and the peach!
Yes I bought the peach one at TJMaxx. One bottle I even got it a clearance price for $4.50
Last week I went to try 59 and 68 from Sol de Janeiro, I tried one on each wrist and there's one I really loved that stayed all day.... I just can't remember which one I sprayed on which wrist! 😅😅

I ordered tan lines in the bronzer. It’s so pretty and soft. When I ordered it I got two blushes with it. The rms blushes are so nice. Your makeup looks so pretty and springy.

I'm an Amazon fanatic, lol...always ordering something I find, and I've tried both that body butter and the body wash! Both are just as you described and I'm thinking others will like them too! I get a lot of Korean skincare off Amazon, and only in the last year started venturing into other items. There are some good shampoos and conditioners too, almost never disappointed. Thanks for another great video!!😊

I think the pistachio body creme would drive my cat nuts - I've learned not to wear any nut- or tropical-scented things around her or I get slimed from her licking! Weird, huh? The RMS blushes are gorgeous. I think you'd love them! Maiden's Blush in particular is a perfect blush/bronzer hybrid, especially for those of us who prefer a rosier bronzer.
I just ordered a Romand Glasting Balm today! I also recently purchased the new Sol de Janeiro discovery set at Sephora and I love 68, too!! I also love 59!

Thanks Dee! I actually don't love the dress on me either because it's too loose and baggy. But I like how it looks on camera as a top, so I keep it for that reason, haha!
@@JenPhelps Oh, it's a dress! I thought it was a top. The print is very pretty, Can you maybe throw a belt on, or use a scarf as a belt, and make it look better? I have a dress that looks awful without a belt.

Tip: if you have purpley skin in your eye area, grey-lavender to mauve shades may actually be neutral contour on you. The viseart purples wouldnt read purple on me, but i have other palettes like that, those shades actually give me the most natural, flattering eye looks, they mimic my natural shading perfectly. It's a shame that the In My Element palette was produced under item beauty, it was extremely innovative but was sold under a non-makeup MUA influencer brand, and marketing it that way would have underlined the mismatch between Rae & a beauty line. I hope the real creators have their own brand - purple & orange as neutrals is GENIUS.
Jen the RMS redimension Hydra powder blushes are my fav matte blushes EVER. If you've never tried them, you must! They are a baked formula & so are the bronzer!
It’s so interesting how people perceive scent so differently. You describing the Kayali pistachio gelato as floral is so crazy to me. I love that perfume and to me, it smells like pistachio ice cream soooooo much.

I find it also very floraly and don't like it for that. At first it smells very sweet / gourmand. But after a while it changes to a floral scent.

I love the RMS blushes, I have 5 and just got beachwalk betty last week. The owner of RMS said they are not baked. She has a video talking about how she dislikes baked products because the process dries up the creaminess out of a product. I've seen several people say the blushes and bronzers are the same formula.
The RMS bronzer is very nice, I agree. You really should try their blushes and see what you think. They are a sugar-derived wet powder technology it says on their website. That’s different, I always assumed they were baked as well.
Love it when youtubers admit to being influenced - happens to the best of us! ❤ Sol de Janeiro mists are hyped for a reason. My fave is Rio Radiance - similar vibe to TF Soleil Blanc but with better performance (helps that it's $24 so you can spray with wild abandon).

I just received the RMS Powder blush in maidens blush. It’s gorgeous. I have the Pistache perfume and wear it to bed every night. Its heavenly. The SDJ body mists don’t last on me at all. 71 is exactly like the seasonal Bath and Body Works Christmas Cookies. Dapper Fragrances has a strong perfume dupe (it’s truly an exact replica) of 71 that I have and it’s awesome!!! Perfumes are very subjective and different to everyone and it is hard to describe perfume scents. If anyone is interested- CZcamsr Soki London is an excellent perfume reviewer.
I discovered dazzle, dry nail polish system. It’s amazing it where is like a gel, but removes with regular nail polish remover. There are some videos on CZcams about it. It’s so good.

It goes as a topper on so many different shades depends what you like or I love to use it in between 2 pink sheer coats like Essie Mademoiselle for a glazed manicure (the blue shimmer under a thin top layer of Mademoiselle brightens the nails and it’s gorgeous 😱😍)
I avoided the Caliray tint because I thought they were dewy, but if they dry down AND looked so gorgeous on you? Sign me up! (New camera is great!)
They are a little bit dewy but on my dry skin they dry down most of the way and they're not sticky. :)
The purple blush works so well. I bought Maybelline fit me blush in Mauve, it shows up exactly my natural blush, cannot even tell it is from a blush. It looks so different in the pan though, I would never have guessed it would work.
You have got to try the mad hippie daily serum with spf 30+. It’s mineral but thin in texture. It’s moisturizing but not greasy at all and I use it as primer too. Not the tinted, it isn’t as good. The plain one is awesome though. No one talks about it but everything bothered my eyes until they one

I think the quality with the new camera was very good!! Pistache has a body spray that smells exactly like the body cream and it lasts pretty good too!
You look stunning today. Hair, makeup, blouse, everything. That Viseart palette was made for me. Tempted to buy x2 so I have a backup. That color story is pure perfection. Really want to try many of the Sol De Janeiro scents. They came out with a sampler, but it doesn't include No 71 😥IDC how fantastic Tatcha and Westman Atelier are, I can't bring myself to spend that kinda $$$, but more power to those who can.

As someone who's wanted you to try RMS forever, I'm so glad you finally did!! RMS is my favorite beauty brand ever! If you love the bronzer, you'll love the blushes & their luminizer that is the same formula. Their blushes are incredible for mature skin, showing no texture & blurring skin. My favorite product is RMS SuperNatural Radiance Serum SPF 30 Sunscreen. My skin is so sensitive to sunscreens & it's taken me years to find one for my face. You can wear it as a primer or wear it by itself for no makeup days. It's my holy grail!

I recently purchased Tatcha's The Kissu Lip Tint with SPF 25. I am in love with it! I bought Plum Blossom and it matches my lips perfectly for an everyday wear.
I love it too!! I talked about them in a recent Sephora haul video...they're so good!
Jen I am picky about matte lipstick as well for the same reason, but try the creme shop ones. They are soo long wearing and still not so dry but look matte.
I was looking at the Essie Iridescent Nail Polish on the Ulta website, but wasn't sure about how it would look on my nails. Here you are looking at the same thing and going to try it. The colors look really pretty and perfect for the weather change. I also got the Romand Glasting Melting Balm in Veiled Rose, and I have been using it non-stop, feels amazing and looks good on my dry lips.

The Viseart looks very pretty... Looking at your swatches though I notice my Kiko Milano no 04 Multi finish 9 pan has the same shimmers 😅but with cool toned browns and a mid tone purple matte. The Kiko shimmers might be more shiny though

Hi Jen, thanks for the video. I like the new camera! On my monitor, it has better lighting, resolution, and sound. And yeah, the autozoom, or whatever the word is, was better when you held something up to the camera. I also like your top and your eye shadow look. And that palette...I wish I used shimmers because I like it.
Also, if I watch your videos, then I watch to the end. I generally don't watch your skin care videos. They trigger me because you use products with fragrance. That's your choice, of course.

Everything looks crisp & clear. Sounds great in my headphones also!
The camera definitely looks crispier but it looks like it’s distorting a bit like a subtle fisheye lens, pulling everything slightly towards the center of the screen forward. You can tell by the line of the credenza. Hope that helps to tinker with settings 👍
It has a wider lens than my last one does, which can sometimes make things look that way. I'll try to zoom in a little more and hopefully that helps!
