- When I recently showed off the prototype I called my "Wireless Backpack," a number of you said you'd love for that solution to be publicly available. But I wasn't satisfied with the prototype. So it was back to the drawing board until I had what I wanted. This is the solution I came up with, available now at www.fzerocamera.com/plastic
Please, the industry NEEDS this 😭
Classic cheaper fix: Velcro. Soft side on your battery (or the camera)-hard side on the transmitter. It’s solid too.
On set I’d be concerned about the magnet mount being bumped and disconnecting-especially if you’re using hot glue to stick to the battery, since the whole magnetic bracket might pop off.
There being no security is the reason I wouldn’t choose this, although I like the sleek idea.
There are already small “v-mount” male and female plates that you can use for the same purpose, but they lock into place and require a release button to disconnect, making them more secure. Nato rail systems or Cinelock systems could similarly be used, but the v-mount solution might be the sleekest.
Still don' understand why no brand invented this before you did.
Perfection.
Thank you so much!
Love this idea. I just bought a v mount clamp for my batteries and a baby pin to 1/4-20 for my wireless transmitter yesterday. I’d be all over this to be able to just mount a battery and connect the transmitter!
Price is a little bit high for me but you came up with a great solution so well done!
Yeah that's a fair criticism. Pricing was calculated according to this rough idea: "I do want people to have these things. But I don't want to give my work away. And I also don't want to spend all my time printing parts and fulfilling orders. Also I will have to deal with customers if they need any help, so I want it to be worth my time." That means it may be too expensive, and I fully accept that. The #1 goal of these parts isn't to make money, but to work for me on my own projects.
If price is high just use velcro, been doing this for years.
great design! 👏😎
What a great solution! Nice work Nick.
This is brilliant, Nick! Incredible work
Thank you!
omg, the hollyland is the worst transmitte to rig, thank you so much for making this
Great work!
Amazing! Great idea!
Pretty genius. Love this. Subbed
Need this!!🙌🏼
Geeking over the ingenuity
Thanks David!
Thoughtfully designed :)
Username checks out 🙂 Thank you so much!
Amazing!
Love it!
Neat Solution Nick
great idea
Kickstart 🎉😊Thats cool! Thank You
Very cool
nice I love it
very cool
This is super smart Nick! Nicely done and well thought out!
I’d love to see it bundled with 2 or 3 in a kit because you know we’ll need more than just one lol 😂
Thanks! There’s a bundle of two, then single plates and battery sleeves.
@@nick_salazar Oh sweet! Not gonna lie, this is a fast gift idea! This is a bomb idea bro! Well done!
Thank you Diana!
Are magnets on a battery and on wireless system a good idea (e.g. interference)?
I haven’t noticed any problems whatsoever.
listen, ill pay you whatever you want
Haha thanks James! I really appreciate the kind words.
Do the magnets interfere with the battery or wireless Tx?
Nope! I mentioned this in the prototype video, should have done so here as well. But inside my suburban home with a couple dozen other wireless devices, we still had rock solid transmission between the farthest two points of the home.
Battery is fine as well :-)
will the magnet affect the equipment?
Nope!
So Good! Any Chance to ship to Germany?
Yes!
This is genius
Any chance of a metal version of this?
Near-term, probably not. I mostly make these for myself, and I have no need for a metal one.
@@nick_salazar any interest on providing the 3D model file to download on the site? Obviously paid with a license to self produce. I have a machine shop that I could totally make the side of aluminum
Another viewer asked the same question a while back. No downloadable at present, it’s something I might think about for the future though. But if you really want a set, the store is open! I have a few sets ready to ship, and I can promise you won’t be disappointed.
So how is the design better than velcro? I think it's kinda steep at $85
If you love velcro, go for it! For me, this is far superior. For you, maybe it isn't worth it.
Just sell the stl for 15$ man I guarantee you're gonna be happier.
Not a bad idea. I'll consider it!
