I'm 30 with 3 kids of my own now and remember playing on a PC I'd built that could hardly handle it at the time, playing with friends and the fun and chaos that could be had, watching your favorite people online playing and having a great time too, and the stark contrasts of being alone in the moments between with only c418 to comfort you from the quiet of liminal space,
and now I watch my eldest play on her own first PC, discovering these things on her own adventure through life.
For the younger guys reminiscing over days where you felt more joy, yet to be disillusioned by the world, there's nothing wrong with taking shelter in the comfort of the past where you need, but don't let nostalgias blinders fool you into thinking that life is all downhill, it's not,

Feels like yesterday playing with friends for countless hours until the sunrise. Turning 19 now wish I could have just one more day in my childhood. Life moves way too fast. Whoever is still in highschool and in your childhood enjoy every last second you have. It goes by too quick.

I just turned 18 (49 minutes ago). This game is one of a few games that defined the better half of my childhood. I remember the game had just entered Alpha when I first heard about it at school. The seniors were playing this brand-new game on the school computers, and me and a couple of others in the first grade stared across the room at the computer screen lit up with the vibrant grass of Minecraft alpha. Since then, Minecraft has been a staple of my childhood. I didn't have access to it very often at home, but when I did, I was almost able to enter a different world. One that didn't have the abusive stepfather. Or the beatings. One that felt like a safe place for a few moments. And in the morning, I'll be able to see my mother outside of supervised visits for the first time since I was 12. Things have been much better for me since I left that home, but my mother was always the hope that kept me from breaking her heart by ending it all. Throughout my life, one thing has always been there for me. I'll never forget Minecraft.

I always remember my time playing when it was just grass and cobble, then to 128x128 worlds if I remember correctly, then day and night was added, the Xbox360 tutorial worlds, time with friends, ORIGINAL 2010-2011 servers (only one I recall playing was 2b2t since it was in my old computer’s multiplayer list), seeing herobrine join and leave the game (lol), playing factions with friends, factions alone, and finally returning into the anarchy community with Constantiam. About two months ago I managed to migrate my 2010 legacy account which is now an alt for various uses on the server, alone with an account of mine and of a friend’s which I rotate around when playing. I’ll never be able to have the original experience I had back in 2011-2012, but anarchy has been the most fun and unique thing I’ve tried since starting

Go to video settings turn off fancy graphics, fancy leaves, smooth lighting, and lower your render distance as much as it’ll go (5 chunks for ps4), then turn the in game music off and play the minecraft volume alpha album and BAM baby your back in 2011! ..sorta?
It won't be, but it's still very fun. I just played Minecraft for the first time in like a year or more yesterday and explored a world I'd practically forgotten. I’m 25 and I started playing Minecraft in middle school. It had just been released and I remember the game being so Barron and empty at first but it still had a certain charm. I can remember not understanding the game mechanics yet and I tried to grow an apple tree by removing a dirt block in the ground throwing the apple in it then placing the dirt block back.

I'm reading so many comments of fellow minecraft players who too are leaving behind their childhood for adulthood. I'll never leave this game behind...
It was the thing that brought me joy when I was 5.
It was the escape from my parents arguing.
It was an escape when dad left.
It was an escape when I fell into depression.
When I felt all alone. And I was. Building alone. Cities, planes, camps. All for me. Nobody would ever see them.
The only thing that I truly hate about minecraft, is how lonely it is to play for me...

In middle school I used to run the game just to have the audio playing in the background. Homework, cleaning, or just vibing with friends, it always fit the mood. Today, 27, married, two kids, I find myself escaping to this video at 1am. I’m a happy father/husband but I long for that “naive” happiness. That ignorance of the state of the world. I long for that constant frame of curiosity and creativity. So quickly we all wanted 18/adulthood. A lot of us left this ghost behind as we departed childhood. It’s something that we can now only see as a distant lighthouse. Occasionally sending back a reminder of what was left behind. Someday that lighthouse will fade beyond the horizon. The echo of what was left will meld with the sounds of our current lives.

You know, I’ve been listening this stuff for around a year. Really helps. I first started Minecraft on my older sisters account. Still use it now. I loved watching her build and play, it was satisfying.
She died a month ago. Found her in her room, overdosed. I will always keep that account as unforgotten as I can. I wonder if her old friends even know about her anymore. I miss her

im 22 years old, I remember first playing this game when it came out on xbox the memories ive had, the sleepovers, the thrill of wanting too build the craziest stuff. when I was 12 or 13 one of my friends died in a house fire. I really felt down, I got back on our old Minecraft world we use too play and found comfort remembering all the times we use too do crazy things too this day I play it weather too ease my stress, my depression or just relive. Minecraft isn't just a game Minecraft is therapy, and ill never forget it.
Minecraft is many things to people. Some people aren't able to cherish the memories you have. I'm so glad you have something to remember them by. Keep going, even when it gets rough. Just remember that Minecraft is always there for you when you need it, and your friend is there for you when you need them.

I originally started playing minecraft in 2014. Now it's 2024, and I am still playing to this day! Whether it is survival or creative, I still play. The game has meant alot to me and saved me from the abuse I had dealt with from my father. I am now doing a whole lot better, and If I could go ahead and thank either c418 or the original developers of minecraft, I would. I will never forget this game as it helped me.

It's been a rough day, and this video honestly made me cry. Minecraft music always puts me at peace, and is truly therapeutic. It's helpful for when you just need a break from any and everything. Thank you for this video. I know it has comforted many, including myself.
I hope you are doing better now. I'm just 14 but I feel nostalgia and sadness a lot when compared to others. The countless hours I played with my friends from 2020 -2021 October and 2022 summer and even this summer makes me super nostalgic. I just wish if I could go back in that time, I would tell myself to be grateful because I would never get that chance again. I'm dealing through a tough time right now with family, and those friends I played with turned out to be the ones who manipulated me, but still I have a special place for all of them. I just wish I could get a backup of all the previous worlds and play this masterpiece and just explored my already explored little world where imagination came to life

Every day I feel more and more sad leaving 2017 because it was the only year you could feel happy loved and cared about. Now it’s 2023 and every time I go to bed I remember 2017. The good old days. i remember late summer nights, my legs perpetually criss-crossed, me sitting right in front of the tv exploring the world and the depths of the caves. forgetting to check the time, or even blink. those hot, humid nights of hours playing quickly turned into waking up to the white snowy mornings. my legs tingling from laying on one another for so long. i remember those days. it’s been years since i’ve felt like that. and regardless of how cynical i can get, this unique and fantastical game eases my aged soul. it’s spectacular the music alone conjures so many memories and emotions for me. minecraft has irrevocably defined my childhood moments and i am grateful for it

MC will always be a core memory in my heart. I love everything about it despite not having friends to play with when I was younger, Minecraft was my gateway and my comfort for the longest time. Just listening to the music makes me want to go back to those days.. I never felt sad, had no responsibilities, and always looked forward for another day of playing games. Im graduating high school in less than 48 hours, and on Monday I'll be 18 1/2 years old to the day.
Like Minecraft, life has changed. But, every small alteration is an integral part of you, and what you do. Even if its a change for the worse on your end and everything seems to be going well for everybody else, do remember that its okay for others to be happy, and that it'll eventually come back around so you can be happy again.

Its amazing that one game became so much for so many. I remember when i used to play Minecraft. whether it was with my friends or me joining my sister and her friends playing survival and getting carried or just little me playing solo creative having a blast enchanting a sword with every enchantment not knowing what they do to make myself wildly overpowered to just one shot things. or sitting their for hours and just building anything that came to mind whether it be towns, exquisite houses, statues of characters, or just random things that were thought up on the spot...
its been a long time since i last played but those memories will always stay with me. Minecraft truly is a masterpiece

I don’t really know if I have insight really, I get what you mean a lot though. I’ve found that setting small challenges in your life can help, really small ones like ‘I wanna do this challenge in a game’ you trick your mind into hyper focusing on that challenge, but it’s not so far away that you lose that determination. I’m really sorry if that doesn’t work for you though, and I really hope you can find that feeling again ❤
I find that as I age that spark exists (if somewhat muted) when I am doing something in the real world. Especially when it's something that benefits others in a communal way. Try a garden that you give some of the food away from or climbing a mountain/walking along a nature trail.

Try just making a list of cool stuff in life and smoosh it together in 1 big project and look at the masterpiece and log into the world every day for a nice calming review of our lives... have a wonderful day.

I’ve been dealing with a lot of chronic pain that keeps me awake at night. Minecraft has been such a place for me the past decade, even though I have grown up-it will forever hold a place in my heart. I remember when i first heard of this game I played it on the Xbox 360 with my cousin or sister. I always sat in front of the tv playing the original tutorial but now they updated it so much those memories seem so unreal. I miss the old Minecraft the calming music, the original animals, original landscapes, free texture packs and skins. The old games were fun. But now all those memories just seem like a dream. I’ll always miss the flat roofed houses,running around the world without a care, and role playing with texture packs. The best memory I’ve had is just sitting in front of the tv tears rolling down my face and hypnotized by the calming music. We’ll miss you original minecraft☺️🫶

I just like want to cry because my childhood is coming to a end soon and I will be a adult soon just like let it all out and be sad and have a memory along the way with Minecraft. Im 14, I starting to play Minecraft in 2017, I start all survival maps and creative maps, in creative maps, I start all my ideas, about billding house, etc. I was playing on a computer(my first coputer). In one of my survival maps, I got 2 village, savana, and desert around of my house, in that map, my first house it was in to a mountain, I remember, it was the first tree I cut when I start the map, around of mauntain and tree I start a normal house of oak planks, and that house was for 2 month but it was a sea around, and I create a house on water :>. In to the back of that oak planks in to the water, I start a farming in to the back of house. I got full armor of iron, and tools, I got totem. All I want is to take ALL my old word, in to my new PC of gaming, I think I really love Minecraft, the BEST game I EVER played. I want to visit all my old word, just one more time. I dont want to lose them :

just turned 16 dec 6th and man oh man i remember these days. gettin on minecraft on the ps3 with my 2 older brothers playing split screen till we had to go to sleep for school in the morning. then repeating that, now that we’re all grown up it makes me really reminisce on this era of my childhood. and i really do miss it and would do anything to go back. my brothers just became fathers recently and it just feels so unreal. wish i could jus take a seat and have time go by slower yk
I’ve lived a few lives since I was 13, criminal activity, near death experiences. At no point have I become too “tough” to appreciate what was and is a beautiful part of this human experience even in this simple peaceful form.
