Sermon for the 10th Sunday in Ordinary Time by Bishop Kham

Gospel: Mark 3:20-35
“Satan is doomed.”
The Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Mark.
At that time, Jesus and his disciples returned home, and the crowd gathered again, so he and his disciples could not eat or drink. When his relatives heard the news, they immediately went to arrest him, because they said he had lost his mind.
And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said that He was possessed by Beelzebub the demon king, and that He was casting out demons by the demon king. Immediately Jesus called them to him and spoke to them in parables: “How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, it cannot stand; If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. So if Satan fights against Satan, if Satan is divided against himself, he cannot exist, but is doomed. No one can enter a strong man's house and rob him, unless he first ties up that strong man, and then plunders his house.
“Truly I tell you, every sin and blasphemy, no matter how much blasphemy, will be forgiven the children of men. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but will be guilty of eternal sin." That is because they said, “He is possessed by an unclean spirit.”
Jesus' mother and brothers came and stood outside, calling him out. At that time, the crowd was sitting around Him. Someone said to Him, “Teacher, your mother and brothers and sisters are out there looking for you!” But He replied, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?" Then He looked around at those sitting around and said: “This is my mother, these are my brothers. Whoever does God's will is my brother, sister, and mother."
That is God's word.
