  • Hey house lovers explorers! This video I take you for a another adventure through and around a grand old farmhouse which from my estimate was built in the 1930`s and had remained original.
Lots of items including beds and furniture still in place and the timeline of last vacancy seems to be a bit odd as you will see. A farming family most definitely would have lived a long life here of a few generations where it now just sits as a ghost farm. Lots to see here with all the cool reminders of the old days. Hope you all enjoy the video, cheers for watching :-)

It never ceases to amaze me why farmers don't look after these old treasures. It wouldn't take much to make it habitable again. I absolutely loved the kitchen! New builds have virtually no storage spaces or kitchen benches, which can be a real hassle! Loved the whole property, was pleased to see they never painted over the wood paneling! I would be happy living on that property and in that old house!🦘😟🥴🥰🤗

      Carmen Stevens.
A lot of these properties are handed down from generation to generation.
Especially farming land. And family members who inherit them have no respect for them because they didn’t have to work to earn them. Probably some millennial inherited it. And. Doesn’t care. What happens to it.
And if someone moved into it with good intentions and fixed it up restored it back to original condition.
The family would want it back you’d have more cops and eviction notices
Then you’ve ever thought possible. They’d rather let it fall into decline and fall down.

Here's the reason why MOST don't worry about the house...when a farmer buys up another farm...he's interested in the land ONLY not the house as its not really worth money in his eyes...Facts😎👍

When I was a kid I remember walking into an old shed on a really hot day and a massive huntsman spider dropped on my head, most likely due to opening the door. It was not a pleasant experience. I'm surprised you didn't take the snake stick and adapt it for a spider stick. Cheers for the what I assume is country Vic sojourn.

What a great farm. Mow a little paint on the walls and lawn and I could move in. The only thing I would rebuild would be a toilet in the house, because ten horses wouldn't bring me to this outside toilet. Great find and thanks for the tour and show.

I will never tire of the fretwork dividing what could be a foreboding long, dark, hallway. It seems a friendly greeting to a visitor. I did notice a fairly clean "pandemic" period disposable mask on the floor of one of the first rooms which might indicate recent dwellers. The proportions of the rooms (largely square) are also inviting and comfortable. That kitchen had room for a generous table and must have fed many hungry people. Several people could work in that kitchen at the same time to turn out lots of good cooking. Thank you for this adventure!

I LOVE this house!!!!! I would love to restore this home and property and even just use it as a museum. I thought of you this weekend- Close to me, in Ellicot, Colorado, they are having an auction- the original founding family has all passed, and the trust holding the remaining property is auctioning off all the belongings- they have things such as the first stoplight for when the town was founded, the blacksmithing shop and all supplies, a fire engine from 1955- all things these people were just keeping kind of in the garage, lol--- but 6 or 7 buildings worth. I wish I had money.... Thank you for braving cobwebs, Black Spiders and Mozzies to do this explore, this was definitely worth it!!!!-SDK

What a beautiful house, especially from the outside and with the roses, but also inside with all the retro details! It seems to me it was abandoned by the owners and their family long ago (likely around Christmas), and I wonder why they and their young children left, hopefully nothing sad happened. All the clothes, dishware and most belongings were carefully removed, and I think the home was clean until they left. Since then it's a pity that the people who've used it seasonally haven't kept it cleaner, at least the inside of the house. This lovely place deserved more respect and appreciation. It would deserve to be saved and renovated to make another family happy. Thank you for this brave and interesting exploration, Paul 💌

A really nice house. So pretty with the timbering above on the front facade and the roses climbing up the front on the one side. Charming! And then there's that huge kitchen! At one point, that must have been humming with activity to get meals prepared and served to the family and hungry workers. Maybe a couple of long tables to fit everyone. They must have been proud of their place.
As you says, it's so quiet. But it felt (at least on video) like a serene, comfortable silence and not a sinister one. That place had a pretty neutral vibe to me until you got to the back of the house - the kitchen and out back. That felt like a happy place, full of life and kids just being kids (despite the fact the toys in the yard - trampoline, sand box, etc were in the side yard toward the front). 🤷🏼‍♀️ Probably just my imagination!
As always, I love these homes and these landscapes and your videos AND I got my my proper name back, so I'm a happy camper!😂

Wow what a beautiful old homestead!!! all the bits and pieces left behind coupled with the play equipment shows it must have been a lively old family home in its day. The laughter, the afternoon footy matches, the BBQs parties the smell of baking, the school bus!!! There are a few throwbacks to federation style homes which i find interesting. and I have to wonder to myself what they thought back then.... like, would they think that Federation was "so 1901 it's the 30s Dear" ha has like an old fashioned Karen lol. or would Federation throw backs have been the in thing.......

  • @LestWeForget-LestWeForget

Lovely old home, although as soon as I saw it I thought of snakes and bees! I think you are right that it is late 30s.

The DVDs on the floor indicate it was lived in well after 2007. The movies Fantastic Mr. Fox came to cinemas in 2009 and Alice In Wonderland in 2010. Then, allow 6 months for the movies to be released on DVD, so I'd say the house was lived in well into the 2010s

I take care of a few of these for friends. These guys seem friendly but are prone to bite and scratch in a manner requiring stitches yet they still need love and care ahead or rather than euthanzia.

Thanks for this one too. That partiuclar profile of round-edged weatherboards also suggest 30s plus design. I lived in a 1928-built farmhouse a few years ago, which could’ve passed for Federation, but for dark timber panelling like this one, less-substantial windows, doors, and decorative features typical of the time, and a feeling of slight proportional imbalance. Almost like it was built by builders familiar with the older style, but not used to building them.

This old farmhouse, would have been charming back in the day, once standing in formal glory, with the welcoming Federation style facade, pretty rose bushes and garden. Internally, it appeared to have been decked out with late 1930s, early 1940s Art Deco veneer paneling along the walls and dark doors, where the occupants utilised the orginal Edwardian handles. There is no doubt a mix of styles throughout the years, to accommodate different generations of families. The viewer is then left smiling at the quirky old classic 'Aussie Dunny.'. 🚽

WOW, just wow!. I loooove everything about it from the climbing rose bushes, the grill work, the hardware, the old cooker, the pedestal sink even if it was white. I can just picture it back in it's heyday, everything shining and neat. I love the wood, the character, the history and what better place than close to my home town. No wonder it was so plurry hot, the ceiling coming down exposed no insulation, well they wouldn't have had it in 30/40's era homesteads. You can picture the little people playing outside on their swingset, pool and sandpit. I'm just in love with it, and what a huge kitchen, I would have loved to have cooked in it. It looks like a section of the road to Bannockburn and Bell Post Hill, and I only say this because of those big old trees. I can just hear the wind blowing through the stand of trees, quite spooky at night time. Mmm dream on.....thanks Paul, just amazing💓🏡🥰

Hello Paul. You have done it again with an awesome find, I love this house and the kitchen was just amazing all that cupboard space and the great wood stove because you can't beat the heat that comes out of them. The striped carpet, we had that in our family home. The old furniture is so much better looking and sturdier than what you get today. There was only one thing that I didn't like was the outhouse and I never like it when I was a child. All I can say is thank God for inside toilets. I always feel uneasy when you walk through the long grass at these old places I'm just waiting for a snake to appear you will have to get a dog to go a head of you. Always a sense of presence & weaving of mystery / stories in the old abandoned homes on your path Paul 💕......the randomness of all the items mysteriously abandoned - the football cards, the city cat book & I notice one of those old 1970's desks with the world map as the desk top. Those box of books just left outside - so many pieces to the puzzle. Love the classic old 'dinner bell' & tractor & tyre swing on the tree 💕...looks like they may have left in a hurry for some reason - I pray their story is not a sad one as seeing anothers belongings left behind gives a feeling of sadness 🙏

I think it is Edwardian judging by the windows but with various other styles added on as time went by. My kids started out in a Moses basket.

Wow what an interesting explore, I love this beautiful house, you can tell the kitchen was the heart of the home. This place had that good vibes feeling. Love the country explorations. I had to look up what mozzies were. Thanks

The cobwebs versus the newspaper dates make for a puzzle about when it was lived in. Good explore. Shocking about outdoor toilet!

Absolutely love this old house! Your vid’s are some of my favorite of the abandoned houses. Also not asking for you to share your personal information, but I sure hope you live in one of these Aussie classics! If anyone should live in one of them, you should be 😊! We appreciate you sharing these with us! Many thanks and blessings to you. ❤ cheers from Arkansas USA 🇺🇸
