I relate this song very much with death but in a very comforting sense. This played a lot in the place I worked when I suffered bad anorexia. Thing is though, there is no evidence that the biblical Jesus ever existed and even if he did exist, there is no evidence that he was any more than a false cult leader of his day that claimed he was the son of a god. Much like false prophets and cult leaders of today claim to be something they are not. But, for the sake of argument, let's say that i was to see this Jesus character on some supposed judgment day. I relate this song very much with death but in a very comforting sense. This played a lot in the place I worked when I suffered bad anorexia. Eventually, my brain started to shut down to the point my days started feeling dream like. I would get up early to watch the sun rise with this song playing in my headphones. Every single morning. I started passing out in the grass about a week before I needed hospitalization. That was a few years ago. And then when my cat was put down, I heard this on the radio the same day not too long after. While this song has dark connections for me, it was also calming for me in those dark times. something about it’s tune in general that’s tragic and melancholy but also really comforting like looking through pleasant blurry memories.

Yeah the doors had a very dark psychedelic sound that fit the post punk stuff of the 80s. Tbh the doors were way ahead of the pack in the 60s... they hit a particular sound that was so close to the wild West days
The doors in my opinion influenced a lot of future goth rock.

@@lisasmith767 I was a believer for over 15 years and attended a bible academy instead of public school. I have heard that i will meet the Jesus character all my life. Thing is though, there is no evidence that the biblical Jesus ever existed and even if he did exist, there is no evidence that he was any more than a false cult leader of his day that claimed he was the son of a god. Much like false prophets and cult leaders of today claim to be something they are not. But, for the sake of argument, let's say that i was to see this Jesus character on some supposed judgment day. I would ask why the bible cannot agree with even itself, much less reality, and given that people's eternal salvation would be dependent upon belief, or not, why did this god not put forth compelling evidence that could save countless people by making them believe if this god is truly an all loving god, as even i would do that for people. I would ask how any being in their right mind would expect me to take the word of a very poorly constructed book as the word of a god. I would ask why he can't take responsibility for all the people that he would be responsible for if hell actually existed. I would ask why he sends countless people to that hell, if it existed, for something beyond their control and how a supposed all loving God could do that. True belief cannot just be chosen for many, many people. Maybe someone can choose to believe their fingers are hot dogs and start eating them, who knows. I know i can't and that fact, along with the heaven and hell concept, is what led me to the truth about that religion. Again, i mean no offense. You asked and i have to be honest.
