Rafika. Plz continue with your previous format of taping. Rushing to do recipes in few minutes spins you out of control. Its stressful to watch you struggle. No need for extra stress in these times. If you enjoy we will also enjoy watching you. Take your time, PLEASE!!
I love your cooking but I don't like this format. The rush rush rush adds a stressful feeling and life is already stressful enough. But I do appreciate very much your cooking instructions and dishes.
But I think that the main purpose here is to show how easy it is rather than how time efficient it is to do this
I agree, but here's a scenario:
someone was to be at a potluck gathering and was
running late.
This would show the timeline capability if required
Or...use it as part of a cardio workout 😄
I agree with you on the rushed format. But in Refika's defense, the title of the video is "Hummus in 5 minutes", so, in all actuality, she was in a race against the clock to show that it could be done in 5 minutes. If I were to follow along with her making this, I would definitely slow down the playback speed.
Totally agree!
Make it in 10 minutes instead of 5.
Would be more pleasant to watch.
🤣🤣🤣🤣. Rafika a 7 minute hummus would be ok too…and less stressful for you! 🌹
She does have a longer version of this in her archives…and it still is the best homemade traditional hummus I’ve ever tried! 😊
I very appreciate your channel and your philosophy and passion for food. But I do prefer your slow cooking format instead of that rush.
Great recipe, thank you! I don't mind if you take 10 minutes to make it in a relaxed way.
anothe five minutes would have seen you turning a half dozen of the store bought flatbread in a skillet with a little spray of olive oil...you cook like someone who actually feeds people with love...Teşekkür ederim !
you can never have too much garlic 🥰
Your hummus recipe from 3 years ago is ALWAYS my go to when I make hummus in the house, which is about once a month. Been making it since that video first came out! ❤
@@kellietrudel8222 Its so delicious and I like the whipped texture I get from the recipe. Not too heavy!
I prefer taking your time and doing it at a relaxed pace. It makes for a more enjoyable episode.
I am British and my husband is Turkish; I always make your recipes and we love them. 🫒🍄🥦🧄🫑🌶
We love the natural, frantic energy of your video! A lot of people are intimidated to make hummus at home, but your video does such a great job of making it easy, accessible and relatable. Thank you!
I'd rather see you do quick recipes at a normal pace and then stop the clock to get an actual, real life time. Watching you stressed out against the clock stresses me too. Love your work - you and your team are such a great credit to Turkey!! Hugs from Oz!!
Your comment is so true, I'm stressed for her just watching this. This hummus does look delicious.
I like it speedy, now and then. At least we see it's possible if we hop a bit.
Lots of love to you and your team, Refika! I've been making hummus for years, when I started removing the skins from the chickpeas and dropping one or two pieces of ice in as it blended absolutely changed my life.
We make this a lot at my house and my son loves to add smoked paprika. It gives it a very different and delicious flavor as well. I personally adore sumac!
Thank you for all your lovely videos. Some of us still remember our grandmothers who immigrated here (Ellis Island) to the US and their European cost saving cooking methods. You take me back to remember her delicious meals and methods. I especially appreciate your thrift to demonstrate how we can all eat well even in spare times. Blessings!
I understood the concept of this fast-paced video (showing us a recipe in real time), so I loved it. I am definitely making this tonight!
Ay, Refika! Give yourself 6 minutes. It's still a very impressive time. 😊 Thank you and your team for another delicious dish.
Love the ice cube trick, have been using that since your hummus vid from years ago!
Cant beat homemade hummus, so much better than the stuff they sell in stores, so much more flavor! Thank you.
❤I make hummus very often but did not know the Trick with the ICE cubes. What is actually rhe point?Thank you🎉
I know there's a trend to do these kinds of time-crunching meals. Although I will watch anything you post, this format isn't my favourite. I love the way you reach out to us as if we are right there in the kitchen ... or wherever you are recording ... with you. I love how you interact with your team. I am inspired by your joy, your social justice activism, your caring, and your passion for everything. In videos where someone is competing with time, I feel tense and worried. There's enough stress in life. Is the goal is to show how easy it can be to eat good and flavourful food? I think that can be accomplished with the way you have fun with cooking. When you have fun cooking, I imagine myself having fun cooking. When I see you stressed out because of time, I imagine being stressed out because of time. I LOVE cooking. It is my hobby and passion. It is how I de-stress from the day. I think that's why I was so drawn to you and your team. I feel a kindredness and it makes my heart happy. I love watching your joy.
Nice!!... and Hooray for Refika!!!! She used a proper juicer!!!
I didn't realize how much I miss hummus until I watched this video! I'll be making some today. Thanks Refika and team for another wonderful video. Fast or slow paced, all your videos are great. I've told so many people about your channel!
I didn't breathe at all throughout that process! Surprised I'm still alive.
Refika, people use aquafaba instead of ice cubes and the taste doesn't dilute. I prefer starting the processor with the garlic first. So that they can be chopped beforehand. I love using canned/jarred chickpeas, too. This real-time video set up is purely perfect. I feel excited, anxious, stomachache in real time and all the mind slips, all the dilemmas you live instantenously - wouldn't change a bit. Thank you guys there for taking the cooking joy seriously and investing in it, working your backs off for it and always improving... I'm a big fan since day 1. [P.S. I'm heartbroken because Refikadan gave up investing in enamelware. They were your legacy.] ❤
Great job as always chief.
I freeze the water from chickpeas and use it through the blending process.
👍👏👏👏
I appreciate this 5 minute rush job - shows that it can be done! Thanks!
It is a staple in my house. Your recipe is just what I like. Fast!
I loved every split second of this video. Sometimes we have to hurry and knowing it can be done is very useful. I also enjoyed your previous recipe of hummus! It’s my go-to!
Thank you for your amazing videos! I am Italian American and for me, the best moments are those when we can enjoy the love around us and slow down enough to feel gratitude. This fast video may be very inspiring to some, but I would love to see a video where you and 1-2 others in your crew work together in the kitchen to set up a meal together without rushing.
Always love to watch you explain things and showcase great recipes. One of the good things about your videos is peacefulness and enjoyment in cooking. This new fast format takes that away.
Swedish as hell, but I love hummus! Goes so well with a cup of tea and some bread. It's a staple food in our house! So tasty, and good for you as well.
So happy to see someone else remove the chickpea skins. Though it takes me at least 5-10 minutes to do that step. I like to remove each and every skin. Personal preference.
And just a comment…you don’t need to run and rush around. If I had to cook like that I would be stressed out and anxious. 😊
Love, love, love hummus!! I am so excited we will visit Istanbul in October and can’t wait to eat some of the fabulous local food!
YOU READ MY MIND!!! I was looking up your hummus recipe because I'm serving it at my sons 33rd bday party!!! You're like a little angel that always knows what we need and when. Thank you Refika!!! XOXOXO
The best part about the video is that it is quick
Love that you showed this was possible in 5 mins, will be doing this recipe today after work. I Love, love this video.
This was the first recipe I made after I began watching your channel. It's delicious!
BEST HUMMUS I HAVE EVER MADE- BUT MORE THAN 5 MINUTES OF TIME- WORTH IT AND ATE IT ALL YUMMY
I love everything you prepare. Thank you very much for your hard work and for helping me to make delicious meals. Greetings from Morelia, Michoacán México
6:51 There was a time I couldn't find tahini. I used to throw in several tablespoons of sesame seeds. So that's when I needed a good processor, but I only had a blender. I never bought a food processor but I learned about the ice and that made my hummus restaurant quality. Thanks to you Refika!❤
Search it or just try the tip idk exactly why but she says it's better than water .. @@cristibaluta
@@cristibalutai asked my brother for u & he said to cool it down so u don't eat it warm & so the color doesn't get too yellow 🫡🤓😎😃
@@cristibaluta The rotation of the blades creates heat and spoils the taste of the hummus. Additionally, since the ice breaks into pieces and bounces off, it also ensures that the hummus is mixed homogeneously and of course dilutes it a little.
I love the ice cube technique. That hummus looks devine
The beginning was very stressful watching you but then it went a bit more smoothly.Bravo, you are also cleaning immediately your kitchen plan andvIbam sure the Hummus is delicious…will certainly try it! Thanks! 🙏🙏🙏
Ok, I think she got it already that you all prefer the old format. How many more times do you need to say it? Good job Refika! I love your recipes and I can’t wait to try to make this Hummus on my own. 🤗
This is why you are so wonderful - making great food with simplicity. Love you lots, Refika.
This is such a beautiful thing that I love. Awesome hummas and some lovely people to share with
I love it 😂😂😂😂 very entertaining. I like the format for quick stuff.
Thank you.
Separating the skin made all the difference in the 🌏

❤ YOUR awesomeness makes it the BEST🎉🎉🙌
I've made my own humus the past two weeks with your recipe. I'm obsessed 😍. I make a paste using ginger garlic and cilantro as an add on. The ice is a fantastic trick to make it creamy. Adore❤❤
Loved this!!! I have everything but sumac, so I’m going to go make some. Thank you. 🙏 Blessings. ♥️🌻
Linda here…excellent video, as always. I don’t have ice on our sailboat, plus I rinse/soak/rinse dried chickpeas to save the weight of pre-cooked beans and remove some starch. And I make tahini from scratch. Love your videos and was just thinking I need to make some hummus when I saw this video. As always, perfect timing. Thank you and your team for all your hard work, showing how easy cooking at home can be. 😘
Thank you, I learned a lot from this video. I didn’t realize, humus needs to be processed for such a long time and I didn’t know, there were such vast differences between tahini brands.
Greetings from Zanzibar Island Tanzania 🇹🇿. Hope all u good. Stay safe stay bless❤❤❤
I love all your composting tips and the lemon tip, great idea!! Greetings from Missouri, USA
My family loves hummus, I couldn't make it as fast as you did but I will follow your recipe.
Great video and I personally don't have a problem with speed. Very much like me when I suddenly realise I've forgotten to cook something with dinner. Definitely going to make this
😀 This reminded me of the show chopped. I love hummus, thanks for the recipe.
So good to see you this morning 🎉 it's always nice to catch you and your sweet Friends. I love Hummus! Yours is just beautiful. Love and blessings from Wyoming!
I love everything you post and especially this hummus recipe! Excellent!
you remind me of julia child!! biggest compliment xox
Your videos are the most realistic it’s almost like I’m there and you’re human not like a celebrity
What a great full-energy video to start my day! Thank you for all the information too!
Just loved your 5 minute Hummus.
Very inspiring.
Will definitely try it out asap!!
This format is fun!
I'll definitely try it
100% of the supermarket ready everything is a disaster, I have to make it all from scratch, but never tried hummus yet (I have to find a recipe for tahini)
Thanks!
Please try and let me know how it turns out :) you can find homemade tahini recipe in the channel ✌️czcams.com/video/iDvuBGhcIZ8/video.htmlsi=HzFdTfdKuXlFwxEI
I already did the hummus recipe. Great results, tasty and very smooth. The ice helped a lot!
Will make this today , Thank you Refika ! Love love your recipes .❤
Yay! Just what my husband needs to learn! He has hummus every week.
Love you Refika😊
Great video! I needed a reminder of how easy this is!
I love this.....simple and easy to prepare.
love this fast recipes, more of fast recipes please
Love the quick recipes...esp putting on timer
Love your channel and the food you cook but please, no more rushed episodes that seem like you are trying to be a cooking show! I want to enjoy watching you make delicious food and could not care less how long it takes. I enjoy my time in the kitchen - cooking should never be a rushed process.
Delicious. I will try your 5 minute recipe.
Wow refika dear loves from Pakistan
Wow Refika, that's so lovely to hear! Sending lots of love back to Pakistan.
I always love your recipes. I have made so many of your dishes. Thank you so much!!
I would have been ok with a 6 or 7 minute hummus haha. Hate to see people rush rush. Thanks. Refika and Co! Your recipes are always the best. :)

Beautiful. Thank you, from California.
tried it! fantastic!!!! Thank you!
Been meaning to try this for a while. Watching from Trinidad and
Tobago
Great recipe with Olive Oil♥️🇹🇷 Thanks
This is very healthy dish. Awesome 🙏🌺🤲🏾🌸🌷
Practical yet healthy recipes are always welcome ♥️
I think I like no rushing this much. 🙂
Absolutely wonderful!!
Excellent job!!
Grazie, hummus is now familiar even in Italy. But we put only a little bit of garlic and less lemony, otherwise it would be pungent. I would love to make it but I don't have Tahini with me😢
Thanks a lot, dear Redika and team. Have a magnificent Sunday ❤
I make hummus without tahini all the time, because I don't like the taste. Either add extra olive oil or put in a tablespoon of peanut butter.
I like your more relaxed format but the algorithm owns all the channels sadly. Feel free to do both kinds. I prefer using roasted garlic confit instead of sharp raw garlic and roasting my own sesame seeds for fresh tahini so your previous hummus recipe is likely the one I’ll stick with. No rush here. Just planning ahead instead. Happy spring!
I loved the pace! It's my life! 😂
The way you cooked and explain everything I love it keep continues
Your fast paced videos give me anxiety lol also I was laughing because you remind me of myself when I’m rushing or I have a busy brain I cannot even bother to translate I keep speaking Spanish 😂
Severek izliyorum sizi, sizin emeklerin chok guzel, istahim aciliyor her zaman sen chok guzel anlatiyorsun her shei. Allah hep sizlerle olsun.😊
Refika, I love your videos RELAXED. HUGS ❤!!
Thank you for the recipe . God bless you all ❤
I love you refika 😂❤..love from Pakistan 🇵🇰
I will watch anything you post; but my favourite ones are where you talk to us, sharing your stories about a recipe and interacting with your awesome crew. I don't think many of us who love to cook are looking forward for recipes where we will be running against time.
