Your video was exactly what I needed for my 2005 Jetta thanks,
There didn’t seem any reason for mine to be stuck open so I sprayed it with some silicone lubricant put it back together and it now works fine.
many thanks for the video, I have opened the assembly, all the parts were flying around the room and was not sure if I miss any
Thank you for your presentation. I drive a 2009 VW Jetta Wagon. My trunk hasn't open properly in years. I am a 60 year young female and am tired of giving all my money to the dealership for repair......and there have been plenty.
I will educate myself some more on this subject and then, hopefully, am able to fix this trunk locking nightmare once and for all...lol
Thank you! Please subscribe to the channel. I'll be doing more videos like this. Just did one about the heating system repairs.. And some fun old car revivals. I may start another channel for that so stay tuned!!
Nice video man! Thank you.
What is the voltage of the motor 12v or 5v?
How do you get the actuator out of the plate? I've been trying to fix it for hours now but can't figure out how to get it out
How remplase motor
I need the bracket thingy that the mechanism pushes into. Any suggestions where I can find?
Used parts supplier. I do know a guy with a lot of VW parts cars. Look up V-Dub Repair in Sioux Falls. Ask for Alex.
My trunk open when i push the Botton on the door. But when i push the remote button it dosent. What is wrong?
The remotes are junk. Mine is the same ways once In a while it will work but I gave up trying.
I just fixed my 2000 Jetta VR6 trunk actuator with your video! My trunk wouldn’t latch/lock closed, which was draining the car battery since the trunk light was always on. The arm of my actuator was stuck in the ‘out’ position, just like you explained, and just by opening it up, it was released and could retract and extend freely again. Saved me an eBay or Amazon order!
