    I'm Tajik from Herat, but I love Nuristani culture and language. I hope Nuristanis can keep their unique language and culture alive.

      @@mohammadmian-thecanadian-p1594 If they are indigenous people, then they are Tajiks. Tadzhik is an Aryan. At the time of the Greeks, Arabs, Mongols .... many of our peoples separated but they all know about Aryan origin and terrain. Many Tajiks of Movarounakhr paid more than 200 years to the Arabs in order protect their religion. And they later took the religion of Islam.

    Great song. I must admit that even though I don’t understand the Kati language but have listened to this song more than hundreds of times. It reminds me of my peaceful people and home during tough times in my life. Proud to be Nuristani.

      It's surprising that Ismail the singer originates from Bumboret (Mumrat) valley in Chitral, and he has moved to Parun serving as a policeman there (so that is in the footage). He's used to play Chitrali sitar, and the songs have been performed in the eastern dialect of Kate-veri. Generally speaking of Kate songs (including Ramgeli), in many cases the topic of the lyrics is love, often tragic or non-resolved.

      ramboram03 no lol. Go and check their languages. Kalash language is dardic while nuristani is not. Their culture is similar because they are neighbors.

      @ramboram03 Před 6 lety +1

      not at all, East Iranics arrive much later and actually pushed these people into their current locations, they are part of the same wave which brought the Indo Aryans, which makes sense they cluster in with Kalash, who are Indo Aryans. Linguistically they have features of both, but their own unique phonemes ,I would say it skews on being influenced by Dardic /Indo Aryan languages, because they are surrounded by Pashai, Kho , Gojars.

      ramboram03 right. Pakistan was their land but Afghanistan is completely iranic with zero dardic people. Ancient bactria and arachosia were ancient Iranic lands.
