‘Welcome Home’ is a narrative music video directed and filmed by Mikayla Tebano in collaboration with singer/songwriter Claudia DiGuglielmo. This song is the second collaboration between Mikayla and Claudia that showcases their ability to tell stories through a form that combines visuals and audio. ‘Welcome Home’ displays a girl who is addicted to her phone and the world of social media is represented in a physical form within a house where she is constantly posing for photos being taken as she tries her best to make her life look ideal. The story conveys the manipulative and fake nature of social media and how it influences people to force ‘perfection’ online. The girl is trapped in this cycle until she begins to realise it is not real and she can’t be as ‘perfect’ as she thought, and she must find a way to escape.
