But since gsp left (ufc cash cow he is) Dana has been salty. saying like warm things about gap. Questioning if gsp is the greatest welterweight, etc.
Dana was pissed cause it was the last fight of gsps contract and Dana couldn’t legally make him fight anymore. Gsp didn’t resign and just walked. So yeah Dana was PISSED.

They sliced this video to make this portray things entirely the opposite of what actually happened and what Johnny had said. GSP was the one who had PED accusations lingering around so to clear his own name he started pushing for both of them to agree to additional testing to be done by VADA, and baited him in by publicly stating he’d cover the cost for him to participate with him and they discovered that VADA was covering the cost for GSP and which made them uncomfortable to risk so much and have to trust it to be overseen by an entity that seemingly has an existing relationship with one of the parties, so they sought the advice of the NSAC and the UFC about what they’d recommend and everybody besides GSP agreed that the testing should be handled by WADA. And then while they were still trying to negotiate for WADA GSP went and got tested by VADA and they released that Hendricks hadn’t participated to portray he was afraid of the testing when the only issue he ever took was it being handled by VADA but offered to test with the NSAC or WADA. The the comment about a harder test to pass was Hendricks stating he pushed for WADA which was a much harder test to pass than VADA but they were nice and tricky slicing this up to portray it differently. And the irony being the push for the testing was all PR to benefit GSP and his team did all they could to portray Hendricks as being scared to test when he was the one pushing for the more thorough testing.

@@MDuarte-vp7bm former law enforcement, current nurse here. That’s not exactly how lab testing works. Sure you can lower testing thresholds but there are also ways to determine false positives. Even if Zoloft made you test positive for benzodiazepines, there are still other metabolic markers that can show is you’re on 200mg of Zoloft for a prolonged time or if you got a Xanax problem. And there are other things of concern when testing for athletes besides PEDS. Even blood doping (an athlete collects a pint or so of their own blood months prior to competition then infuses that blood just before the event to increase availability of oxygenated blood which can give incredible stamina increases) can be key and the ways to determine these things involve several markers in lab testing. I think that GSP tried to call his own shots a lot, didn't play ball by doing any superfights / going up weight class.
And maybe the same reason as I've always criticized GSP... after Matt Serra knocked him out GSP became a point fighter. He dominated with it. Basically a jab, a double leg shot followed by ground and pound but the shit got boring.
lol then the dude comes back because he sees an easy fight for the middleweight title, when's that and then when it's time to fight some big middleweights like Yoel Romero suddenly George's tummy hurts from eating to gain weight and he retires again with the belt.
GSP plays as such a nice guy but the dude is cunning and always running game. Dana White likes guys that will play ball. I side with Dana because I want to see the fights happen.

WADA are a set of guidelines - they don't enforce tests. Hendricks is a blatant lier. The fact that the UFC acted like Hendricks was the rightful champion is a complete disgrace and the company should be shamed for it to this day. I support them when it comes to issues in which they're in the right such as fighter pay, but this is outrageous. Just as bad as Hunt/Lesnar and they should lose a lot of money for both cases. Imagine forcing one of your GOATs out of the sport and whinging about it.

    • @danielbelcab

Dana threw Georges under the bus because Georges chose his well-being over making them more money.
And they're not in the right as far as fighters pay as well. The discrepancy between what the UFC makes and what trickles down to the fighters is ridiculous. When they allowed fighters to have their own sponsors I believe an argument could be made that it was somewhat fair, but nowadays fighters are pretty much hussled into giving their brains, their bodies and their likeness for cheap. It's unjustifiable.

If everything was always based on damage, than the Diaz brothers would’ve lost most their fights because they had so much scar tissue they’d basically bleed the moment you breathed on them.
