- It's springtime. Soon nature will turn green. Green because of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll has a beautiful green color and can even fluoresce in a complete different color. In this video I show you how to show it.
Video with the three-layered cylinder: • Gotta love that Glow! ...

This channel is very original and interesting. I am happy i found it.
Happy you're here! More to come :)
Easy: the top third liquid is dragons blood, preferably from a young female dragon. The middle third is diluted Pokémon tears specifically from a German Pokémon. And the lower third is a tiny amount of the atmosphere from Mars. Duh....common knowledge.
Kevy S C I E N C E
its acually American blood
Did you just assume the dragons gender?!
Kevy wins the internet for the day.
Why a german Pokémon?
Red - chlorophyll
White - some clothes detergent?
Blue - tonic water
Thats what I was thinking. The white is the hard one. Anyone who has been watching for a while should remember the tonic water.
Fapasaurus Rex I thing your spot on
So i guess the middle layer has to be some oil to keep the ethanol and water from mixing?
DrCl4ym0re but how would you mix oil with another liquid?
Who said the oil had to be mixed with another liquid? ;-)
i love how you yeeted the spinach for young (and relatable) kids to see lol
No joke about the beauty! Wonderful video, loved the colors!
Indeed it is beautiful...
Colorful proof of life energy and love, captured in the green water...
Very much enjoyed... Thanx for sharing...
Wonderful. Such a treat to watch your videos!
"Yeah, that's the smell of springtime: freshly mown lawn, and a liberal amount of alcohol."
Beautiful!
Could the absinth bottle been treated to block UV?
If it changes color in direct sunlight, I would bet they would coat it with something to prevent that...
I would bet to be:
Top fluid: Chlorophyll solution in Ethanol [d~0.789 g/cm^3].
Mid fluid: Kerosene [d around 0.8 g/cm^3].
Bottom fluid: Quinine solution in Water (aka Tonic water) [d~1g/cm^3].
In any case.
Many compliment this channel is AWESOME !
Thanks for another excellent video! Keep up the good work!
Another AWSOME VIDEO AS ALWAYS

again guality video.
Thanks you
Thats so cool!!
very cool
Thank you very much for uploading this :)
bravo, that is simple an neat.
Awesome
Nice video, amazing how you can make even grass seem interesting :)
Nice one, I thought this would be magnetic, But still this content rocks.
problem is i missed a word to type, I thought it would be a magnetic experiment video which he does mostly.
Gautam R yeah, your right he usally does that but chlorophyll is aint magnetic.
yes i know it is not magnetic.
It's not ferromagnetic. But maybe it's paramagnetic or diamagnetic :^) Let's find out by putting this huge ass neodym next to the chlorophyll while drinking absinth!
I subscribed because this stuff is really interesting, time to binge watch most of your videos now!
Thank you very much - and welcome aboard :)
love your videos!
man you deserve a lot more recognition, you`re videos have a lot of effort into them, love it !
Thanks for the support!
That light show at the end - goddamn, I love your videos O.o
Jeg elsker dine videoer!! har været her længe nu, og hver ny video er strålende! Keep up the good work!
Great video!!
Oh man i really like your vids. Because of one of your videos i started to buy elements and neodym magnets. Especially your voice makes the video even better :D!
Thanks for support! And good look with your own collection :D
i think one the bottom is water ,middle oil and on the top is the mix grass and alcohol that you made ! i love your videos because the slow phase and relaxing voice and music !! keep up the good work !!
Thanks for the support - much more to come :)
I would say Alcohol, Oil & Water. But I'm not sure. And also the quality of this video is spot on. The editing and sound is amazing.
Your channel is so cool!
Love your videos man subbed.
Awesome - welcome aboard :)
Every time I watch one of your videos, it makes me wish were were neighbors. Keep up the great work. :)
nice!
dope!
Great video 😊😊😙
Really cool stuff! I had no idea chlorophyll was fluorescent.
Tanks for you videos
so these are all clearly imesecible liquids (unmixable). therefore the bottom is some water based solution while the middle is most likely oil and the top alcohol. the flouresnece colours leads be to belive the bottom (blue) is tonic water due to the presence of quinine, the middle vegetable oil maybe olive oil specifically although the colour of the oil seems a bit light for it? ( range of 350 - 650 nm emissions sourced from here : pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jf048742p leading to white like light?) and the top is clearly the same colour as the chlorophyll so is the ethanol chlorophyll solution.
1:57 can't you just put some water in your mouth and the grass chew it up well spit it out and filter out the chunks
Nice fluorescence spectroscopy by eyes (and brain).
great video!
WOOO brainiac video! you should make a video about different types of waves and rays (radio, light, sound, gamma etc.)
Lol bending light is always a beautiful sight to see, and along with changing colors to. Imagine multiple different lasers of different colors, and then layers upon layers of these liquids to make an amazing multi-colored rainbow-esk look! :D
This was a excellent video. :)
I think the one fluid is olive oil.
Your videos are based around the thing I love most SCIENCE hope to see you soon
It's beautiful :c
**watches while eating dried seaweed**
This is awesome. :3
Thank you for making the Dutch flag in the most awesome way! :P
2:25 subtle joke, i love it
der recke You think he might mow his lawn with a martini in hand? I do lol
Great Video! 420
That is funny because the place I grew up (north/central California) everything was brown in the summer and green in the winter.
This is true but so weird that when John Steinbeck write about it, his publishers switched the green in winter for green in summer, assuming he screwed up.
Ok: Just two videos where enough to convince me. Sir, you have a new suscriber!!
Awesome! Welcome aboard :D
Aye aye Captain!!
Your videos are so informative in nature unlike other CZcams channels which kind of just touches or grazes over the topics ....love it..subscribed... Keep the Good work up.. U will always have us supporting ur good work :)
so true bro!! so true!! :)
This channel is one of a kind , so unique
Thanks for the support - and welcome aboard :) Much more to come!
+Brainiac75 you and your videos are awesome ...can't deny that..keep them coming and more subscribers will surely flood in :)
It is amazing how different materials will absorb parts of a wavelength. My guess as to the contents of the last part are 1. Water. 2. Cooking oil. 3. alcohol. I really enjoyed watching it and it was worth the wait :) Cheers.
i love the blue one
Lol you my favorite science channel😂
cool
Another great video, they never disappoint. The mix I think is olive oil, vegetable oil and water.
Beautiful,Scientistic and of course Brainiastic. :)
The Cylinder contains Quinine - i think - Nice Show ~ love the Glow.
Thanks :) Solution is in this video: czcams.com/video/a0ndGKFP_DY/video.html
YESSSSSS
That cylinder contains, in order from top to bottom: Magic, Magic, and some more Magic.
If I had the energy to remain conscious for another 5 minutes I would google it, alas, that is not the case.
Prompted Hawk
A-are you a scientist?
i love absinth! send it here! :D
Nice to see this effect again. My brother and I did this many years ago, and even tried to build a laser with chlorophyll. Didn't work.
cheers from cool Vienna, Scott
In the cylinder we have from botttom to top chlorophyll solution, sunflower oil(or other oil) and tonic water. Very nice video btw! Thanks!
Out of a thousand people, only 4 disliked this. Kind of amazing ,that.
fantastic video my friend it always fun to watch your videos i always learn something and also laugh keep up the good work , and i suggest if you have a strong Hazel to create a tree time broken beam that goes true all different layers
ps : sorry for the grammar mistake i am from Iran
your biggest fan and friend Abteen
interessant god video ^^
BRYCE COGHLAN's guess is chlorophyll on top oil in the middle tonic water on the bottom. Great video! Thank you!
Should have just taken the laser pointer to the store instead of buying the absinthe lol
BucketsAMF. You get a thumbs up for that, very good. One could just walk around the shop shining into clear bottles to see what other products in the store to work into his videos.
Just be careful not to blind the other customers with the laser beam.
I thought the same lol😂
you know what, liked and subbed.
Nice - welcome aboard :)
0:30 I loved that intro. Every video you seem to ramp up the video quality just a little more.
Also I was more intrigued by the fact the absinthe didn't show red. but my guess is the alcohol mix, then oil mixed with washing powder? and then tonic water? The white is whats REALLY throwing me off.
For a regular viewer like you the white is indeed the mysterious one. I haven't shown it before :) Thanks for always watching and commenting!
Of course man! I love this channel and all the work you put in. I have been trying to research what the white could be but I guess I am not wording my research question properly.
I love your vids
Jeg mener det
The reason why i subscribed was because you are funny. My first vid i watch was exotic elements vs magnets 4/5
Nice - welcome aboard. Hope to make part 6 of that video series here in 2017, but I'm currently short on new elements in my collection :)
So glad to see you covered this. Sometimes I don't trust Action Lab, but i'm far more likely to trust you. And if both of you say essentially the same thing, well, i'll accept it since it makes sense
You know you may only put out one or two videos a month what you lack in "quantity" you more than make up in the quality. Can't wait for the followup video. I'm going to have to try that for myself.
The top one is the chlorophy alcohol mixture you made, bottom one is definitelly tonic water. And in the middle is something fluorescent mixed with oil...
dobra wódka :-P
6:09 yay the Dutch flag colours
you again my friend?! Ive missed you!
My guess for the solutions are..
Bottom layer is Tonic Water
Middle is cooking oil
Top is the chlorophyll extract.
The chlorophyll extract is the same density as water though, and oil floats on water.
Your channel is the best! keep up the awesome work! I'm guessing your chlorophyll solution on top, olive oil in the middle, and salt water on the bottom.
Thanks for the support - more to come :)
Such a beauty. Is it possible to make some kind of night light using this method?
Sure, but there's an inherent risk in blu-ray lasers or ultraviolet lights needed for the fluorescence so I would have to say they don't belong near a kids bed as a night light :) Thanks for watching!
Be my science teacher pls i'm begging you !!
Hehe, you're welcome to watch all of my current and future videos - there should be some science education in most of them :)
"I always wanted an excuse for muddling something to smithereens in a mortar."
:)
hahahaha! That was very funny.
Hi brainiac75 I love your videos on youtube I watch you from 10k or less
I am from Brazil and I am very grateful to have enough knowledge in English to be able to understand your videos.
Awesome - thanks for the support through the years!
TOP: ethanol with chlorophyll
MID: Oil???
BOT: Tonic (quinine)
