I realized after I bought a D23 Snow White that the photo was not of the actual doll , because they said the box was sealed. So I asked for photos of my actual doll. And they opened it and sent photos. And I was lucky because they delivered it in person on the way home from the expo. My doll is perfect.

      Ok see that’s great
That the seller was willing to let you check out the doll you was gonna receive
And your smart to actual go back and or check from the beginning on it being just a photo but not of the actually doll for you

I always buy only when there is a photo of the actual item that you would be getting. Never buy if it's just a stock photo or says pre-ordered. There are a lot who just took photos of the display doll and not the actual doll. For my own peace of mind I avoid sellers who do this as well. I'm less likely to get scammed, disappointed, or given a knock off. That's just me though.

I agree that the sellers should be opening up the shipper boxes to photograph the actual dolls that they are selling to inspect the item and note any factory flaws (missing parts, etc.) in their listings and photos. It is unfortunate that the one Jasmine doll pictured in the video is missing the gold ornaments on the top of her bodice (definitely a factory flaw). The missing gem from the skirt might be in the box itself, having come loose during shipment to the Expo, so check the inside of the box to see if it is there and then glue it back onto the dress if you find it.
For some context as to how the dolls were being sold at the Expo, on Friday morning when these were released, the people in the initial standby line were sold dolls that had been removed from the brown shipper boxes, which was probably the store's intention to sell all of them that way as they have done in past Expos. However, around noon, the store stopped taking the dolls out of the shipper boxes and were passing dolls to the buyers only in the shipper boxes to expedite sales. I was waiting up there starting at around 10:30 am for my virtual queue number to come up (my virtual queue group was later called at 12:53 pm), so I saw the transition of the buyers coming out of the store first with bags of dolls that had been removed from the shipper boxes to bags that only had the dolls still sealed in the shipper boxes. So by the time my virtual queue group was called, we were not allowed to see or inspect the dolls we bought, and were passed shipper boxes with an initial written on the box to differentiate which character it was for ("S" for Snow White, "H" for Hercules and Megara, "J" for Jasmine, "M" for Merida, and "E" for Giselle/Enchanted).
So as Sweet Wheels said, please do ask the sellers to show you photos of the actual doll they are selling. Anything that looks like a loose doll in a case with tables and people and stacks of boxes in the background are the display dolls at the Expo, and 100% not the actual doll you would be buying from the seller.

If a seller is selling the doll they need to take it out the box to inspect the goods. It protects themselves and the buyer. But I won’t fault the seller if they don’t open the box since the display doll gave them the impression that their doll will look the same. But sometimes you get dolls with defects.
I think Disney should have had better quality control on these dolls. D23 dolls should have been perfect and not come with flaws like that. Especially with how exclusive this event was. Why do you have dolls that are missing items? If I ever go to one of those events and get a doll I’m opening the box there to inspect the goods.

Sadly this is a normal thing for D23, or any convention exclusive items. Often the people selling these items have zero interest in them, for example dolls, and dont understand these kinds of problems such as missing gems or broken jewellery. Often they'll just list a random stock image, or use someone elses image because they dont see how its any different. They do it for anything, bags, plushies, pins etc. The image for this listing was for the display dolls available on the convention floor, which were everywhere on social media, so if you wanted this doll you probably 99% saw this. Its kinda common practice at this point with any exclusive item, even with online Disney store releases, scalpers will buy the limited item and sell it only with a stock image without ever opening it. Its the sad reality of how the scalper market is, and if they state in the description that its never been opened then its a gamble on the buyers end, however if the seller never disclosed this then I hope that the buyer manages to get a full refund if they return the item. Normally i've only ever seen LE DS dolls have messy hair etc, very very rarely is something like parts of the outfit missing, so I really feel for the person who ended up with her.

I won’t buy a doll till I see actual photos of the doll I’m getting.

A good seller would offer to take it back or a partial refund if it actually was what they bought in the store. I would love to see the listing for that doll.

I was gonna try to find it but after maybe a few
      I stopped
But that’s what I wanted to see
      What they mentioned
But it’s a lot of listing even for items that been out for year
      Stock photos
Like where is the real item at 😂

Did the seller rip of the details? Because that sucks. Also, I was hoping we get another Giselle LE doll, because the prices on that doll is insane! $3,000? Hell no! (Pardon my language, please.)

I agree with you I think they should just be up front in the description and also willing to open the box and show the product to the buyer if needed…

Mistakes happen. This looks like a one off. I like that the sellers keep them sealed in shippers. Means you get a box fresh doll.

    • @sweetwheels6857

      True the doll is fresh
But when things like these happen depends on the buyer
      It’s a real problem

They are supposed to sell a variation of Jasmine in Shop Disney! I wonder if this was an accident and they received the variation (cheaper version) of jasmine and not the D23 version 🤔

That dress is a mess. Disney dolls are usually perfect, with maybe a stray hair. I was a Lead in TDS. This dress is terribly wrinkled and the hair looks real off.

    • @sweetwheels6857
      @sweetwheels6857  Před 2 lety

      Yeah your right
It’s mostly the hair with an issue
      Which can be fixed easy
      Well from my experience anyway
      Oh wow
