While there are more than a few Japanese restaurants in Phuket, HANA has the Southern Thailand culinary scene buzzing with excitement. This northern Phuket sushi and Japanese food restaurant is located in Surin Plaza.
Set against an atmosphere that is both rustic and upscale, HANA has a litany of both contemporary and traditional Japanese dishes. Modern takes on authentic tastes is the name of the game, however, and HANA's Japanese has some of the most refreshing culinary treats in Phuket.
From sea bass with lemon soy dressing to steamed salmon with fennel, Michael takes one of the most elegant Phuket dining experiences. The contemporary Thai dining scene has seen an uptick of upscale Japanese restaurants throughout Thailand in recent years. HANA, however, set themselves apart with by filing the menu with some of that Phuket creative culinary flair.
This Phuket restaurant has something for everyone, including that one picky eater of the family. As with any Japanese restaurant in Phuket, HANA has a premier Sake collection with several options to choose from. In this review, Michael has a taste of plum Sake that complemented several of the dishes, including his favourite: duck with a ginger soy reduction - one of the finest modern Japanese dishes in Phuket.
The rich history of Phuket seafood continues with HANA's modern Japanese take on the freshly caught fish, straight from the Andaman Sea! One dish, the decadent tempura Tiger Prawns, are a sight to behold as the large portions are presented in a beautiful manner.
Elegant, modern and affordable, HANA Japanase is a great dining option in northern Phuket!
