if you're watching the mccann documentary, i seriously suggest watching stephanie harlowe's series on it here on youtube, too. they left out a lot on the doc and were rather biased imo

I couldn't make it out either, but she did respond to another comment I found. It's called Hiraiwa Metals. Their website I "think" is in Chinese (forgive me if I have that wrong), so you may have to email them. Per an old tweet from Baylee their Instagram is @hp_pins. Their profile has contact info as does some of their posts. They also have a Facebook. Hope this helps.

I've always been very interested in enamel pins. I actually collect them and always have wanted to make my own. I've watched many tutorials but I would really enjoy a tutorial from you on the design process from the digital file side of production. :)
I've been working on making hard enamel pins for a while now and I finally get to order another 100! Man I'm super happy for Baylee, but those who are interested in getting into enamel pins without as large of an audience it takes a while to even start ordering in the 100's! Just wanted to point it out to other small artists 😊
Do you mind elaborating more? I really wanna get into doing enamel pins, but I have no clue on how to even get started. Like where do you make them? How much does it cost to get around 100 pins? Do you need a computer/laptop to design the pins? etc... sorry for asking so many questions fam. It's just I really wanna do them in the near future but have no experience what so ever & I don't know anyone personally who's ever actually succeeded in buying & selling them that could help me.
@@ayachi889 oh hey!!! i make bts pins and i recently just started getting into making enamel pins too! and i can say that its definitely daunting getting into them because i literally found no info online.
1) i suggest contacting a factory directly on alibaba. send out an "rfq" or "frq" something like that. its basically like an ad stating that you want this and that. then the factories will contact you.
2) most of them have a minimum of quantity of 100!
3) they range based on quality i guess? but most of the time if you go to them and ask they'll set a high price. you can probably negotiate/bargain, but if you send out the quotation thing, it'll be competitive so just wait for all the quotes to come in and pick the best one that suits you. my first order of 100 pins was $160 after shipping. ]
4) i use illustrator to make my designs
@@ayachi889 I think going with a manufacturer directly is fine but I'd recommend working with a middle man for the first time. I went with pingamestrong. They are really good at answering your questions. It's a little bit more expensive but I think worth it for the first purchase. I think Baylee went with a middle man for her first purchase as well. They also are helpful if you don't know how to do the designs in vector format such as illustrator. You can send them a drawing and they can help you, but that is also an added cost. Keep in mind you will need to purchase a minimum of 100 pins which can have an upfront cost of around 300 for hard enamel pins.
There are a lot of people who want to try getting into enamel pins so don't worry if it takes time. If you start without having a name like myself, I relied on having good designs and using a lot of search terms in Etsy. I'm now working on posting more on Insta and going to conventions which helps get your name out there but can be expensive. One day conventions are a lot less expensive. The main thing is don't be discouraged if you aren't getting the 1000 pin numbers right away! Just keep working at it. "Pink Samurai" makes beautiful pins and has some good videos on youtube as well. I go through the same manufacturer as you, and I only got charged once for the back stamp mold, but I think it's because all three from my newest run had similar shapes/post positioning. But in my opinion, totally worth it like you said in case people have a big collection.
