  • Caorle, a beautiful island a few kilometres away from Venice, the boundary between sea and lagoon is still a primeval, unspoilt place.
As soon as you leave the crowded beaches full of tourists, you enter into an ancestral world, where nature reigns with its magical silence broken only by the sound of the wind in the reeds, by birdsong and the sound of water being cut by boats.
In this landscape of other times, we discover some very particular constructions, i casoni or in other words, huts.
They are testimony to the ancient culture of this land, which above all was mainly centred on fishing.
In these ancient constructions, which we can trace back to 1,500 years ago, lived the inhabitants of Caorle.
The island of the Casoni is still inhabited by the fishermen of the valley. It is a gem that the people from Caorle have guarded with great care by making it easily reachable for curious tourists on foot or by bicycle. (...)
