- Hi, y'all! I’m SO excited to finally share with you our new farmhouse and (almost) 20 acres of new property- a homesteading dream come true! So much space for new animals and gardening potential. I can’t wait. The best part is that this land has been in my family for a long time and I’ve been learning cool history like “these cabinets were made from pecan trees your grandpa grew” and that my uncle even picked out the name for the road we live on because no one was here yet! It’s very special to my heart. I’ve been gathering this footage for some time, so I hope it conveys all the beauty and everything this new place can be. So we, also, just moved from Sarasota, FL to North Florida and we LOVE IT! We have 10.5 acres of raw land, and are clearing some of it out for our living area. We're getting chickens and pigs first. I'm SOOOO excited! How many acres are you guys on?

Don't feel that something bad might happen as a result of your good fortune. Life may bring challenges, but you have great intentions for the gift you were given. Sounds like it was meant to be.
Your place reminds me of the farm I used to own. Then my husband’s job moved us. Enjoy where you live and cherish the connection you have to the land.

I'm moving to 1.6 acre Homestead soon never have anyone live on the grounds, not been worked and home never lived in! Starting over at 58 completely. So North Central Florida here checking in zone 8b

My husband and I have been looking to homestead. We have 2 children and this property looks like heaven on earth. What are some areas that we can look in. We currently live in pinellas county. We tried the nearby counties but there are not well kept and the areas themselves have bad reviews
I just found your channel while looking for Florida gardening. Congratulations on your new home and being able to have a family home must be an extra blessing. Just curious when you say "north" Florida and also mentioned growing asparagus, what general area of Florida are you in? We just moved here from Wyoming and we're on the border of Central/North Florida according to the UF gardening charts. Asparagus is my favorite vegetable and I'd love to be able to grow it. Will this be your 1st time gardening or did you garden in your previous home?
Hi! I’m in the panhandle (Tallahassee) in Zone 8b and I can definitely grow asparagus here! The hardiness zones change a lot throughout Florida, so I would look up your zone specifically to see if you can. I’ve been gardening off and on all my life, starting with gardening with my dad growing up. I consider myself a lifelong learner and I’m still learning and trying out new plants or methods all the time. I gardened at my old house too and have a ton of videos from that time 😊

They’re called scuppernongs ☺️ I usually pronounce it a mix between that and “scupanon” or “scuppernon” , but they’re a native southern grape and delicious!

The people who rent stalls for horses are getting fewer and further between. If it were apartments for people, I would go with the configuring, But! You have plenty of room elsewhere, and if you use the income from the rental of the barn, leave the land configuration for that be until they leave.
