In this video, Dagan puts the Sterling By Music Man SUB Series Ray4HH Bass pictured here in Lake Blue Metallic through its paces.
The Sterling by Music man SUB series RAY 4 HH bass is a Versatile, high quality bass that is budget friendly yet offers a pro-level playing experience.
A lightweight basswood body, shaped for comfort is the ideal shape for players who need something that can keep up with a demanding playing schedule.
A comfortable maple neck, capped with a Jatoba fingerboard is a premium appointment whilst the two low-noise ceramic humbucking pickups, with a 5-way selector switch and 2-band active preamp provide all the tonal versatility you need.
Probably the best bass for metal, rock and indie players on a budget!

I received this for Xmas and it didn’t disappoint. Sounds like my old EBMM stingray. You can get many sounds for example, position 2 gives a convincing Ric 4003 sound.
I had a ray34 a while back and I can see that
do you know what the switch is for?
Man, I love the tone of this bass. And you can't beat that price.
Nice, just bought this one and your vid is super helpful!
Thanks! Just what I wanted to know!
Thanks a very good Review.... A Beautiful bass and Sound very good too !
Damn. Second position and neck pickup sounded golden. Def getting one.
Great review 👍🏿
I'll be getting this bass hopefully within this coming week. Looking forward to using for church, studio, live, everything
Did you get it? How is this compared to the 1100 GBP stingray?
Yeah. I got it. It's absolutely amazing and just as good as the 1100
Amazing bass, I love mine!!!
Great job
Just got me a 5 String Sterling Sting Ray and love it! My new baby.
This is a Indonesian Rice field factory. Bullshit 😢
Got mine coming!
Thank you, you just introduced me to my new favourite bass.
No way
But what does it sound like if you play it like a bass?
Is the plastic still on the pickups, in this video??
I just got this as my FIrst Bass and so far I am loving it thanks for the video :)
Perfect👍🏻
I need to get one
Sounds good except everytime you switch the pickups there is a scratchy static sound.
Dagan seems like a lovely chap, but can we have a proper bassist demo the basses please?
It’s not a bass solo. Stop with your elitist bullshit. No one is buying it.
@@Yodelinthegully.- Still, it ain’t appropriate to have to get a feel for a bass when there ain’t a proper bass player giving some examples of what can be done with the instrument.
@@Yodelinthegully.- nah bro the rather what a proper bassist not a guitar player, even tho i love the pick he isnt exactly a proper bassist.
Just got one in candy apple red
I’m pretty sure position 2 is the outer coils and position 4 is the two inner coils.
Yeah cause the outer coils sound like a jazz bass of sorts
Position 2 and 4 are not single coil modes. One of them is the two outside coils split in series and the other is the two inner coils split in series. Might want to check the diagram next time. Otherwise, decent review.
Missed the mid knob as well when exposing the eq
@@HonchoHundo 2 band EQ on this one, so there is no mid knob.
@@toneill1225 ohhh I mistook his jack as a 4th knob hahaha my mistake!
I don’t think they’re wired in series. There is a massive drop in volume in position 2 and 4. That suggests parallel. Great bass. Nice review.
@@jeroenjanssen5162 you're completely right, I got my words mixed up. They're in parallel.
I’m upgrading to this bass from yamaha rbx170
what a bass beauty
This bass is more better than PBass mexican (fender)?
Maybe…
Please review the sterling musicman axis
Can it sound like an H?? Torn between a H or a HH
yeah, i'm pretty sure they sound pretty similar. imo, the hh sounds a little bit thinner than the h. the youtube channel "low end lobster" has a pretty good video comparing the two.
I have this same exact bass. But mine sounds SOO much better than how Dagan plays. Love ya, man. But have a proper bass player give it some justice.
how good are the frets on your stingray? i've heard that these arent that good
@@phipschi4255 I've got one and the fret ends are beautifully finished and the finish on the back of the neck is also very nice - smooth and slick! Great bass!
I bought one in candy apple red
Same just got one - beautiful
Basswood is indeed pronounced like he did. Its bass "like asss" or like the fish. Even though this is a bass.
1:30
No sabía que Melendi tocaba el bajo...además lo toca de puta pena..que le vamos a hacer
Se nota que no es bajista
All due respect, this is why you don't have guitarist's demo basses..
It’s a better demo than a lot of bass players on here!
@@cliffburton333 thats true in respect
That's how I play bass, so I like it.
I play like that. Sorry you didn't get your generic reviewer doing slap lines for the 100th time
Would you play an upright with a pick no so why play bass with a pick
He's NOT playing an upright. He's playing a Bass GUITAR!
What a ridiculous comment 😂
BTW, I've never played one of those big, weird looking things...
Am I the only one hearing a screeching noise?
the preamp on this thing is supposedly garbage if you boost the treble or bass and makes a lot of noise. I'm interested in getting one but plan to rip out the preamp and replace it with a Nordy preamp asap.
It's got the looks, definitely not the feel and sound lol...
🙄
You are a very funny fella but you can't play bass. I forgive you for mentioning the SIX neck bolts!
wack its a guitarist!!! poor bass
This is a Bas bassplayer with his stupid pick.
